To answer James question, car engineers probably make cars with people further and further back to allow a bigger crunch zone for accidents and to allow less car related fatalities but I'm just theorizing.

I'm sensing a disturbance in the hausiverse. How could Lawrence, THE Quintessential Gamer, finish less than 1st in a game? I suspect that the original video has been tampered with and James' race has been swapped with Lawrence. This would explain the impossibility that has just occured in this video.

I'm pretty sure the reason they're shifting things more to the center of the car is so that they can mass produce cars for multiple geographical regions where it matters which side of the car the steering wheel goes on. This way they can just make all the same cars with all the buttons and stuff in the middle and all they have to decide is where to put the steering wheel as opposed to having all the buttons on the left for the American cars and then having to have another production line with all the buttons on the right for places like England. I'm pretty sure that's at least one reason why they would do this

James, the reason cars have everything pushed to the middle is so they have a low, central center of gravity (centroid).
Essentially, this improves the handling of the car and can, depending on the car maker, improve handling, acceleration, etc.
