    The sign of a good video is when one groans because its finished. What a superb place to film! I thoroughly enjoyed your great camera work and the sound track too! The AD60 sounded in fine fettle and I noticed the diesel at the back of the train was quite rightly a dead weight. I hope you'll be posting some more videos.

    Nice work, you did very well considering the conditions and were obviously lucky with the sun on a few occasions. The weather even looks cold! (And I love your watermark).

    6:25 Wimbledon - Where are the tennis courts? LOL

    Not surprising there was a diesel loco on the back of this train with Garratt 6029 up front. That Garratt isn't exactly known for reliability as it's prone to mechanical issues that took it out of action during two consecutive years when it featured in Steamfest(pre-Covid). Speaking of Steamfest, Steve, have you heard if Steamfest is still going ahead on the last weekend in July?

    • @steelribbons5886
      @steelribbons5886  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Neil, yes Steamfest is still on for July, the diesel was needed as there is no loop at Wimbledon and it did not sound like it was helping the garratt up the hill. Oh the tennis courts are on my left! Are you going to the Thirlmere Festival 25/26th June?

      @@steelribbons5886 Cheers and thanks for the Steamfest info. Thirlmere is a bit out of my reach, I'm afraid, at least for day trips. I'd like to go there one yar but it would involve a lot of pre-planning. Re: Steamfest, a friend and I were chatting recently and he was wondering if Steamfest would be going ahead. With your info, I can now confirm steamfest is *"Full Steam Ahead!"* With the diesel on the back of that train, I figured it was there in case the Garratt failed again due to mechanical issues.

    That load is well within the capabilities of 6029, so maybe it was an error or possibly misadventure that resulted in its stalling.

      Not sure what went wrong but otherwise it performed very well.
