I just use the AdBlocker extension for Chrome. Works perfectly (choose the one with the most downloads.) Unfortunately this is a solution only for a desktop browser. I'd love to find one for mobile.
I'm an avid Gamer from the 70's & I approve this ArcadeWave🎮. I remember when arcade games weren't just limited to arcades...Pizza Joints, People's Drug, 7-11, Supermarkets, hotels, bowling alleys, roller skating rinks, etc. Gaming has come crazy far & I love every minute behind the 🕹. GAME ON😎👌.

I 'think' the first Arcade I might have played was 'Astro-Wars'. I was about 12 years old and the school I attended here in London UK had an arcade machine in what was then called a 'Tuck Shop'. A place where you could get sweets, chocolate bars, even Sausage Sandwiches, during our breaks. I used to jump on the arcade and play. After that I became a bit of an addict to the point where, when I was in my early 20's, during my work lunchbreak, I used to travel into Central London to the Trocadero center where they had an arcade games area with lots of arcade machines, just to play a few games and rush back to work, that was in the early 90's. I'm happy to say this is one of the addictions I'm not embarrassed to talk about. Gave me so much escape and pleasure when I was a kid, and was an important part of some of the friendships I had back then. I still love games now and I'm 50 this year; It's amazing how games have progressed; I don't even play that much, but find myself coming to TH-cam just to watch gameplay. I think I'll love them right up until it's my time to go.

Galaga, Pac-Man, After Burner (the one you sit in), 1942, Centipede, Joust, Bubble Bobble, Rampage, and Rygar would be in my dream arcade. Air hockey table and maybe a skee-ball cabinet, too.

45 in my case, still playing old video games feeling like a kid. Arcades were 'rad' in the early 80's, but got old quick. By the late 80's I thought the arcades were pretty lame. You could play better games at home with friends.

When I was about 11 or 12, I had a pretty crafty friend who tied a magnet to a string and put the magnet and dragged the bottom of the fountain at the mall to collect quarters. I am not proud of this, but I also joined him in this petty crime. I never did find out where these coins would have gone, perhaps a charity? We used this change to play video games at the arcade. The quarters were of course the best find, but we also exchanged the dimes and nickels for quarters at the arcade too.
I remember the arcade days in the early 1990s. It was before the new stores came into the mall. They often let you have a prize after winning so many tickets. But the only arcade we have in my home state are ones by the boardwalk that's only active in summer and the one at the farmer's market at Berlin. If it's still active during the pandemic though. I miss those days.

The year was 1999, I was still a kid growing up tall and strong, I went to a pizzeria and there lied House of The Dead! My dad didn't let me play but some nice kid did he gave me a quarter and I kept on trying and trying and I eventually got to another level only to lose by one zombie. I'll never forget the look on the kid's face when he said "good job, you did good for a first timer". My dad was always mean to me but I was just happy another kid saw something in me and offered me a quarter to play a game my dad didn't want me to. :) sadly I never asked his name.
I was only alive for about 9 months of the 80s, but this still makes me ridiculously nostalgic. It always makes me sad knowing that things have changed so much since then (some things for the better, but I think a lot for the worse) and there's no way to ever go back. Oh, and great mix, as usual!

TH-cam needs to make money, however the amount of ads is getting excessive.
I run uBlock, uBlock Origin, and Privacy Badger on Firefox. No ads, no popups, just content.
