I too have settled in the high end production $300-500 range for folders but I've fallen for Demko after having tried Hinderer, Chris Reeve, Medford and Curtiss. They're hard to get but very much worth it.
I would never cary anything that I'd be upset to lose.Some of that stuff is only a trend and will devalue quickly.I'd keep that stuff at home.
People spend millions on stuff they just like to own and look at, ( paintings, sculptures, classic cars, etc ) he loves to own and just look at it too I imagine. Probably uses gear at a reasonable price for everyday but If he can afford it and it gives him pleasure. Why not? ps I doubt it will devalue. He will get offers constantly for his one off pieces. Probably is not interested in selling anyway. He could probably make money from loaning his gear out for props in movies.

You don’t really think about it but your boujee EDC can be worth a small fortune and make you a target. On any given day if I was rolled i’d be a $20-40k score for the mugger. If he could get by my expensive EDC Pocket Pistol that is. Great vid showcasing some really nice EDC kit.

Brad Zinker makes such good looking knives; and they’re lighter then a feather for their materials! I think he’s got a knife the same size of the bugout using titanium and micarta coming in around 1.7-1.8 oz.

Love the videos man. Some seriously cool gear too. You mentioned selling of some knives to be able to afford a different one. Is there a website or something where members of the edc community go to sell stuff to other people who want it or do you just know a guy that already wants what you have and you agree on a price? Because there’s some stuff like your Topo mini champ that I’d love to get ahold of if someone is looking to sell one so they can get something better. Or better yet is there a swap site to exchange with other folks or something?

One can not seriously carry a "knuck" that costs 4 times what your watch costs, right? You gotta get your watch game up and lay off the beads and such. Then again, getting deep on watches will make that money go away quickly. So, maybe he's actually saving money by spending $6k on a knuck.
I enjoy, and use my various selections of EDC gear that I carry, like most of the people watching, but I, in no way, understand the prices you were quoting for the Connor Winning carry??? I would not give that much money for anything featured, to each there own, but if someone told me they were charging those prices, I would politely smile and say - you can keep it.

All that wouldn’t be worth a damn when needed. I’m beginning to think every episode is something I could never afford. Maybe this isn’t the channel I need to follow anymore, it’s expensive stuff that I couldn’t afford nor would I ever use out in the world. That said, do you man, you seem to like all this stuff, so keep on keeping on with it.
I literally do just as many budget videos as I do expensive stuff. I absolutely balance it out because there is a range of prices of products and budgets of people watching. Don’t cherry pick a bougie video to pretend like I don’t also make budget videos.
