    Thought at first that they painted the suction line insulation with mastic because it looked like the right diameter but when you opened it up I realized it was all iced up and no insulation on it when defrosted evap coil definitely needs chemical and brush cleaned but I would be afraid to clean it in place with water up there that's one I would suggest giving up a closet and replacing the ahu , tying the duct's into so it would be acceptable that's crazy the way they done it !! That's a walk away from one there if they didn't change it! Been in many tight attic's before some worse than that but I am small so I would do it when others wouldn't or couldn't and younger but older now and wiser getting stuck is no fun I can tell you that!! Also them duct knives are good for more than just ducts!!
    You are definitely a better man than me if you do it that is definitely a job worthy of a nice bill for neglect and ignorance!

    Watching you brush that coil , my thought was “it’s like pissing on a forest fire “. I can’t comprehend how people are so dense to the importance of filter management. Cheapest thing you can do and gain the most benefit.👍👍🇨🇦

    It amazes me how a heat pump could work at all with both coils so dirty ??? More work for Curtis ....

  • @gabrielstern4992
    @gabrielstern4992 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Well Curtis the condenser coil and evap coil needs a major cleaning and that big hole in the ductwork is bad.
    But who knows when it is change out time it's time for an air handler relocation and a complete redo of the ductwork.
    But at least it is an old r 22 trane back when the American companies made good hvac systems and ohh I hate trane too.
    Time for a gree flex or a ruud from you.
    And as always appreciate that unlike a lot of hvac guys you will work on anything and fix it.
    Without bieng picky.
    Even fixing bad mini split installs and bad diy mini split installs. And vice versa.
    I hope the landlord is smart enough to have you come back and do what needs to be done.

    That is one of the reasons I carry a small brass aon steel brush in my pack. That coil will need a can or two of black hawk or viper.
    It nice to have a platform to walk on in the ceilings. I am sick and tired of making my own platform in the ceilings around these units so they can be worked on.
