An honor to mentioned amongst the reviews here !! Never thought one of my most influential filmmkaing inspirations would ever read one of my reviews !! Hearing my name be uttered by Edgar Wright might be a Top 5 life experience !!
I’m as shocked as you are that one of my closest friends got mentioned by Edgar Wright.
I strongly relate to a Letterboxd review I once read for Hot Fuzz (I went looking for it again but can't find it, so apologies for not crediting it), which went something like "Edgar Wright, if you're reading this, would you please be my friend?".
Edgar Wright is the first person I've seen do this who didn't see 3-3½ star reviews and comment on how they're low. King who understands that 3½ stars is a good score especially when you read the review and its positive
3 1/2 stars + the heart button is actually the best rating you can give a film on letterboxd icl
Edgar Wright is such a treasure man. His films are unironically great ways for people who only watch animated movies to get into live-action films, since a lot of them are practically IRL cartoons
eyyyyyy typhoon
There are people who only watch animated films?
I'm sorry....what? I've heard of people refusing to watch abinated stuff because they think animation is "for kids" but I have never heard of the opposite happening.
hello lust letter guy
@@galactic85and Edgar Wright just did it lol
The person that said this movie deserves all the stars but only gave it 3 1/2 stars is.......interesting.
Edgar Wright is a genius, can't wait to see his next projects
I’m so glad that missing patch of hair on Nick Frost has finally been answered
This guy makes honest films. Others make better films or flasher films. But never have i watched his movies and felt like the guy behind them didn't fucking love his shit to death. It really shows. Didn't like Shaun for a total of ten minutes (not into zombies) but it's humor without being postmodern won me over and then some. I now love it.
I may not fully love some of his films, but I fully appreciate all of the amazing work for all of them. He is a genius
Can't wait for my viewing next month on the big screen.
I love Edgar Wright’s movies, he is a genius director!😉🤩
I’m really happy to see him in a Letterboxd video!😊
Please make a thousand videos with Edgar Wright
It’s crazy that somehow Hot Fuzz might even be slightly better than this masterpiece, you have to watch it many times before you may think that though 😂
Agreed. The first three times I watched Hot Fuzz, I thought it was alright. Now, I think it's his best movie by a mile. I like everything he touches for the most part though.
@@Largentina.Indeed, just an amazing director.
Absolute legends! What a great time to be alive we can experience such excllence in comedy and cinema!
One of my favorite nights I ever experienced was seeing shaun(my childhood favorite movie), Hot Fuzz, any the world's end, for the midnight release. I'm ready to see what they do together next.
My School and town is immortalised in The Worlds End. This Trilogy has a lot of places in it that hold memories for me.
One of the BEST extra features I've ever seen on any DVD were the pop-up fun facts, Pop-Up Video style during the movie. SO much fun to read about BTS and cool little easter eggs while watching the movie.
I was a child when this movie came out and I absolutely loved it. Now I'm a year younger than Shaun is in the film and still love it and rewatch from time to time. It is a bit alarming how instead of thinking of Shaun as a complete loser, I know relate to him a LOT.
…the new version?!?! 😮😮😮
one of my favorites films ever, love you Ed thanks for that film
I wish they would bring it back in theaters sadley i havent seen anything i thought it was
They are, maybe not in your town, though.
@@sebastiano728 ya nothing in new mexico 😭😭😭
edgar wright is such a cool dude
We need a 4th Cornetto movie i swear
Yo Adi Cohen getting a shout out from Edgar Wright, lol! Nice review guy!
Him reading a review by Joe Lynch made me so happy.
i'm glad to know that i'm not the only person that liked "second coming". it is a good album by the stone roses.
Favorite movie of all time. But there’s no showings near me 😢.
What a cool dude
damn i always loved this movie, gonna see the remaster soon
one of the best films ever
"new version"..?! REMASTERING??
Yes! I've been waiting for this news. The current 4K edition wasn't satisfying.
@@reservoirdude92 I’m crossing fingers for an Arrow release 😁
@@reservoirdude92Won't happen but an Arrow or Shout Factory release is definitely possible.
Unbelievable that Shaun of the Dead has no negative reviews.
I think YT knows that my dad and I went to JB-HI-FI and got Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz
I wish Edgar got back to making movies like this one and other two from the trilogy. Baby Driver was good too, but his last two movies were definitely not my cup of tea
8:58 It’s an Irish name so it doesn’t follow the pronunciation rules of English… they are different languages Edgar… 😅
I love the man but I wish he and Pegg got together again to write a screenplay. I thought Baby Driver and Soho's scripts weren't as good or tight as the ones they did together
whats with the sound effects at the end
0:33 I'd always thought he slipped on blood since there's a bloody handprint on the fridge door?
Haven’t seen the new version but has he edited so Shaun actually slips on something?
"I guess Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are also the people's princesses." so true edgar 🫡
My name isn't "Seen"
Where’s baby driver two Edgar?
Edgar Wright has an account on letterboxd, right?
Seeing all these 3.5 ratings hurts my soul. “Shaun” is a 5 star film through and through
its more fun when they read reviews with low ratings :(
I used to know a lad who was Edgar Wright's voice twin. He joined our halls of residence mid-way through our first year at University in Preston. Absolute f*cking psychopath. He had massive PTSD from fighting in some corner of the Middle East and veered from intense manic happiness to flat-out violence so unpredictability that the whole floor avoided him for six months. He would regularly shout obscenities in the corridor and smash shit up.
Once, a mate scraped "child killer" into his door and it nearly caused WW3.
Anyway, I'm ashamed to say that, because of Edgar Wright's voice being so similar, I developed an unreasonable dislike for him (in spite of his excellence and skill as a director).
It's a shame Letterboxd has basically just become Twitter for movies, aka a place to shitpost.
i think as long as the toxicity stays out of it it’s a good thing, most people that are on letterboxd aren’t critics so the lack of seriousness makes it more fun
So much British hate, sad to see
Not one bad review?
Shaud of the Dead wasn't that good.
Then why are you watching a video that celebrates its 20th anniversary?
I think it’s very good although it wouldn’t make my top three of Edgar Wright films.
shawn of the dead is a 5/5 in any book of any language. it's perfect.
I will WRITE YOUR STORY FOR YOU OKAY
Twenty!!!?
