checking in: how I'm feeling, what we're doing, and future of the channel

- This was filmed on January 20th. As of right now, I'm posting this video from our new apartment. We're slowly settling in and making it feel more like home. I'll show the new apartment in the next vid. Thank you for sticking around. Talk soon!
Take us along on your rebuilding process! Thrifting, buying new plants, setting up the new apartment, I want to see it all!
Same! It will be like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, a brand new bright start. Yes, it is expected to be sad about the past, I would be downright weeping if I lost all my possessions but there is a whole new start just waiting to begin.
This could be a guide for anyone who may go through something similar now or the future. I can imagine losing everything you have is a completely different type of grieving process, having someone film their process could be comforting.
✨️💯✨️
I like this!!
Cool!
Totally valid to miss and mourn your sentimental items. Those items held meaning and memories; not just materials goods. The plants were a representation of your love, care, and dedication. An extension of you, and that is exactly why I followed you initially. You and all your interesting facets of life. It was your creativity, your calming demeanor, your eye for design, your ability to curate special things and spaces. We’re here with you in this new chapter.
Well said. Exactly what I was thinking, but you put it all into words beautifully.
yes♥️♥️♥️
❤
We never came for your plants - we came for YOU! And now we will continue to watch just to see YOU grow, and not your plants. You can post about the cracks on the wall and we’ll still be there watching in support of YOU! 👊🏻🙏
Yes, that’s the truth 😁
That is so true! I love your passion for plants but if you wanto to document your life, photograph people, cook, buy new plants or paint a house I am still here for YOU!
to be honest i did actually come for the plants, but over time i became so excited to see you and chris grow!! supporting yall forever! 🫶
We'll help and support however we're able to!!
So true! Sending love to you and Chris and your family.
Came for the plants, stayed for benji and Chris 😌
Yo! That's me... 😃🤞🏻
I'm in a plant and seed library group. People are making lists of plants naturalized to your zone.
When you get settled in somewhere we want to send you seeds and cuttings.
This is the sweetest thing! 🪴
super nice!!
So thoughtful ❤
Benji has such a great community here on his channel. That’s so thoughtful of you and your group!
That is so great !Thank you for blessing Benji in such a wonderful way
Benji- in Vietnamese culture, some say that our loss of material things and/or fish, shrimps, etc… are losses that takes the place of loss or our life or health. Take that as you may but you and Chris are young and resilient! You’ll rebuild your lives and your possessions and will continue to live a fulfilling life. My family left Vietnam when the country fell to the communists with nothing but the clothes on our backs. We not only lost our homes and sentimental belongings but also our country and identity. We all thrived and made a new life that is equally meaningful here in America. Pls keep making videos, we love to see you and Chris, Winnie and Theo. Stay positive, you guys will come through this and know that you guys can kick adversity in the butt!
❤❤❤❤
Important words here
Do you consider grow space for plants...I have yard space just south of Altadena. Whenever you are ready, just drop me a line.
This is so beautiful ❤
Plant Collection Idea 🌿 when I had my bridal shower 4 years ago, all my girl friends from church brought me a little leaf or a baby plant from their home. Four years later my apartment is a jungle. I wonder if you’d like to, or be able to set up a party and ask friends to bring you a leaf of their favorite plant as well. That will instantly bring so much meaning to your new place and make it cozy.
I’m so sorry for all the things you lost. I’m super sentimental when it comes to objects bc they are like little boxes that keep heartwarming memories in it. Many hugs 🥹
This is a great idea! They could all include a note about the plant’s history too so it’s not all so “new” feeling.
@ yessss 🌿♥️
love this idea
What a wonderful idea 😁
Hi my friends I too love this idea and when I had the fire in my house and it took 11 months for them to necessarily renovate the inside, but I lost everything and as a 60 year-old gardener all his life born in Portugal a source that’s exactly what happened on my friends came over over during Christmas and everybody brought something from their home so this is a great idea and feel connected to your own space and your friends
Benji you could talk about paint drying and we’d be right here watching. So so so glad you and Chris and the pets are okay. Take time to care for yourself and make sure your mental health is your top priority, you’ve been through a lot and need to hold space for yourself to heal. We’ll be here watching and supporting whenever you are ready to create again, in whatever form that takes!
True, I love just hearing him speak
❤
I'll speak for myself - I subscribed to this channel for you, the benji, not necessarily the home or the plants. Whatever you put out on this channel, I'll watch it. Looking forward to the next one.
was just coming to comment this !!!! i started watching 2yrs ago for the content and stayed for the immaculate, genuine energy. ive never been one to get wrapped up in youtuber’s lives but ive grown to care so much for this precious family. we love you benji !!! 💚 sending you guys so much love and good vibes.
Absolutely this!!! Your vibe is what this channel has always been about for me.
As one of your senior fans, may I say you have an amazing opportunity to teach about resiliency, hope, love and perseverance. I have loved watching you demonstrate such kindness through your interactions with family, pets, friends, and your partner. This is something the world needs more than ever. I don’t mean to put a bigger burden on your shoulders right now, but really hope that you will choose to share your journey with all of us who have grown to care about you and need the lessons and example that you being given the opportunity to teach. Bless you - you are stronger than you think and more amazing than you have yet realized. ❤❤
100%
This is so lovely and so true 🙏❤️🩹
❤
i agree, it is a good thing you all are safe and sound but we can't take away the importance and the sentimentality of the way things made us feel safe too. because no matter how much it is such an object or a piece of clothing, those things hold history and memories. and those things can never be replaced. so im sure it feels very hard to work through this. definitely take time to mourn those things too.
Objets inanimés, avez vous donc une âme qui s'attache à notre âme et la force d'aimer ? (poème Alphone de Lamartine)
You are my Mom's favorite plant youtuber and she doesn't even speak English. She loves to watch how you are able to transform plants into a piece of interior design instead of just a pot on a window sill and recognises how greatly you care for them (she always envied the natural lighting in your home). Also even though she doesn't understand a word, she just really can feel Your kindness through the screen, that is so rare and precious. As for me, I've just started skating 3 weeks ago, so maybe there is a plant lover to ice skater pipeline 🪴⛸️ Me and my Mom would to love see how you and Chris are doing on the rink!!!
I love the thought of your mother watching Benji and his plants.
Benji, We love you and Chris and will watch any videos you make.
Building up from a ground zero situation takes so much mental resilience and courage. Prayers.
More than anything, I think most of us watch the channel for you. There are many plant and interior accounts on TH-cam but not many that have your gentle, serene vibe. You're part of my routine, in a highlight sort of way (not a mundane sort of way). I hope both you and Chris can continue your channels, it would mean a lot to us all to see you building yourselves back from an awful event. So many people can relate to that either because they've been through it or they've feared it. At least those sentimental items still exist in your mind, in your videos and photography. The comments and the crowdfunder show how fond your viewers are of you and you deserve that fondness, you've gave us so much. Out of something catastrophic, it will be beautiful to see you find new attachments. We're rooting for you both!
No one should try to tell you "how you should feel" Feeling lost is a personal journey. Things bring us joy by reminding us of how we came to have them. Give yourself the grace to mourn.
Hi Benji, I agree, our sentimental things we keep make up a part of us. Sad losing your Grandpop's sweater. And your plants are definitely who you are. I just can't imagine. So thankful you, Chris, Theo & Winnie are ok. Prayers for all of you & everyone effected by the Fires . Ice skating sounds fun. Looking forward to seeing your new place!!
Thinking you could have packed better is a step in grief. You might want to read some on the grief process. No one could have foreseen the massive damage you endured, especially one so young as you. Your plant collection was quite special. I am so sorry for your loss.
I agree with you. Everyone grieves differently, so take the time that you and Chris need to come to terms with this tragedy. Are you able to post the link to your GoFundMe here?
To have such regard for living things, you are a gift.
I am obsessed with peace you radiate 🙏
Hearing you share your story has been so interesting. Thank you for being open enough to. This entire situation is so incredibly complex but having you create this digital diary is more important than you may think. Traveling along side your healing is showing me so many more aspects to modern human life & the ways we create our own worlds, with our own personalities & our own way finding pieces of art or plants etc. This is certainly a painfully beautiful way to share your experience. Thank you again.
Here to support you in whatever you are doing. Grief is such a difficult journey - give yourself whatever time & space you need. I'm so happy your friends had a place available for now. It is a very pretty home. I know, wherever you eventually land, you will make it a beautiful home too. Sending love & light to you both- & I look forward to hearing another update in the future when you're ready.
It's a process . I still go back to process things from 30 years ago. It's attachment, memories. Things change us. Take your time.
I just have to say your voice and presence on YT has always given me a sense of calm and peace. Even though this terrible thing happened and you lost everything, I’m so glad you are still here with us sharing your life story. Just seeing you here and hearing your voice gives me reassurance that everything will be ok.
Hi Benji, I'm sure I speak for many when I say I am 100% here for whatever you want to post, whenever you want to post it about whatever it is you want to post about. And just to say, if you can, try and take everything one step and one breath at a time. It really helps!
I watched some of your videos from before the fires. It brings tears to my eyes to see how much you loved your home and to think how you must feel now. It is not true that things are just things, not for certain things and not for certain people. You built something special and it will take you some time to recover from your loss. It’s true, there are worse tragedies around us, one only has to open any news source. But our day to day is like an anchor. I wish you and Chris Godspeed in rebuilding all you can rebuild.
Benji, I follow you because I'm so fascinated by the way you care for your plants but MOSTLY because you seem like such a sweet guy and it really calms me to hear you talk. You have a very lovely and calming aura.
Even now, after you've experienced something extremely traumatizing, I'm still sitting here feeling calmed by you like always. That shows immense strenght and I'm kind of in awe.
My point is, I hope you will continue to upload as long as you feel like you get something positive out of it and not worry as much about what the viewers want because many of us will watch whatever you choose to talk about. The plants was just a lovely bonus and will be again.
I agree, I found him because of his initial video about the fire and his channel is so calming and feels like a safe space.
Benji, it's so wonderful to see you back. It's completely understandable how you feel about your things; I still mourn sentimental objects that I've lost and plants that died years ago. I've always been so inspired by your interior styling, and now I randomly think of some of the amazing things from your apartment (your Japanese ceramics, your framed artworks, your new couch, that quirky blanket with all the fish) and feeling an acute sense of loss for you. But you should never blame yourself for anything; you did everything that you could in the circumstances.
I'm so glad to hear you'll still be making videos - your content is always welcome, no matter what it is! As someone who's just moved into a cookie-cutter modern apartment, I would love to see your styling tips and your unique way of magically transforming any space. 🪴
Benji we don’t come to your TH-cam channel for the plants or your belongings. It’s your energy and aura that keep people around. So you have our support in whatever you decide. Your story show so much resilience and I’m sure that a lot of people can relate if not in the same aspect (of loosing their home) in any other aspect of going through difficult time. Keep on inspiring people. We love you ❤❤❤
They are not just “things” and you will grieve them …I lost my home and all my possessions in 2015…although it has changed ( my grief) I still sit with it….you have brought me great comfort with your shared story .
3:00 I also have a "museum" like apartment with things that are just not possible to replace - even with insurance - and I can't imagine that helpless feeling
Nate Berkus -interior designer-wrote a beautiful book called The Things That Matter. I think you’ll like it. It’s about the importance of the things we save and display in our homes. He survived a tsunami but lost his partner. So that is part of it too. As for plants, I really feel the same as you-and trees….😢 My heart goes out to you. I hope you find a cozy place soon and fill it with plants ❤.
Like others have said, we are here for you, you still contain all of the depth and knowledge, insight and interest that you did before, without all your things. Also, I personally tuned in more for your interior content and less for plant content, so it seems like if the focus of the channel is on rebuilding and redecorating a new space, you'll have our unwavering attention. Looking forward to watching your new space come to life from scratch! Wishing your little family all the best.
I’m so sorry for your loss Benji, i really admire your style and it inspires me when decorating my own place. Sending you and Chris lots of love and healing as you rebuild your lives
Thank you. You and your partner have added points to the score for *reasons that humanity should continue to exist* because you thought about families needing a two bedroom apartment more than yourselves!
The last bit you posted about your pets, teared me up. Its so true. They are like children, the main important attachment is to living things, humans or animals, objects are just that. Objects.
I’m so sorry for your loss! 🙏🏾 Please take us along on your journey. I watch because I like your content but moreover I love your spirit and energy. Always puts me in a zen mood! You’re a whole wonderful vibe! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We live in a fire prone area. We have never had to evacuate but we have had a few watch and waits where we’ve had to pack everything we need, leave it at the door and wait at home to see whether the wind will change or not. I’ve always packed the important things. The documents, the jewellery - the things of value. But your story has reminded me of all those little sentimental things that can’t be replaced. That tell a story of my family’s life. Your situation has definitely made me think differently this fire season.
12:50 speaking for myself, I hope you continue to make videos in whatever form you choose. The calm peaceful way you live your lives is such a gift to the world. Truly wish nothing but the best for you and Chris and that you find a way through your current challenges. All of our love ❤
❤
i admire your resilience. i am so looking forward to your interior design for your new rental. you’re so incredible ⭐️🌱
It's totally normal to grief. Please take care of yourself with patience and love. There are so many people sending you healing energy and hope for your future.
I’m truly grateful that you are able to come back on line and give your followers an update on what’s going on with you and Chris. You need to grieve your loses on your timetable before you move on. I’ve enjoyed your vlogs about the care of your plants, the home decor and just your everyday with Chris and your fur babies. I can only imagine how difficult it is to find the right space. Have you tried Mt. Washington, Eagle Rock or even Silverlake? These areas have older buildings available. Take care of yourselves and of each other. 🙏❤️
It always drives me nuts when people say it's just stuff. It's also the memories. In the summer of 2023 the Anvil fire burned a few miles outside the town where I live. It lasted for a month and I drove for weeks with as my most important possessions piled into my car. I have a tiny car so I had to leave a lot out including most of the paintings from four generations of artists in my family and the 40 year old fern I inherited fom my Mom. By the time it was done it was burning up the backside of the hill outside of town. I am so thankful to still have my house but I'm not sure where I would be if an atmospheric rider hadn't come through and put it out. I know you will mourn the loss of your items but I know you will make new memories.
I want to thank you for the willingness to allow me to look into you guys' life. The plants and decorating drew me in, but it is your wisdom and gentle spirit that keeps me watching. I wish you both ease in recovering!
Wishing you the best! Been watching and commenting on old videos in hopes of helping a little
I will be doing that as well. As a content creator engagement is huge. We need to support Benjie for sure.
I've been so sad about your plants too! I actually have some plants because of seeing them in your home. For example I have a very small Dracena Reflexa. And I knew you would be heartbroken about the Fish, shrimp, plants and your beautiful collection of items in your home. I'm so very sorry.
I am so glad you have such great documentation of everything you've collected over the years! I hope you find peace in your loss. You mentioned not knowing what to do. You can look into the Master Gardener or Master Naturalist groups in LA and see if you'd like to become a member. They require volunteer opportunities and classes that teach you more about gardening/California Natives. It helps you learn more and allows you to work in gardens and meet other gardeners! Appreciate your updates and will continue to support you!
Just hearing your thoughts is enjoyable. Please take care of yourselves. It's so heartening to hear a young person talk with so much compassion
So sorry for you loss. I'm sure your plants were as loved as much as your darling pets. My whole family went through the Bastrop Complex Fire in 2011......they also lost everything. Looking forward to what's to come for you and Chris.
Lost my house in Altadena too. My first few days, every time I closed my eyes I thought of my art and plants burning and I’d just cry and cry. Couldn’t sleep at all.
Your path is very similar to mine. Also the most torn up about my plants and art and also my books. I also keep thinking about everything I’ve lost at random. I also lost a crotcheted sweater my grandmother knit me before she passed and it hurts so much. I tell myself she would NEVER have wanted me to risk my life for it.
We also went to a concert we had bought tickets for months ago to try to keep a sense of normalcy.
I’ve bought a couple new plants and they don’t feel like “mine” yet but I’m doing my best to care for them and hopeful about seeing them grow. I totally understand the lack of things to fill your day. I miss my plants so much. I had just chopped and propped so many stems of my calathea and I had pothos cuttings to give to a friend that I was rooting. Breaks my heart.
Sending you love.
Yesss please keep posting the videos! We are here for it all!
I believe in you both! ❤
this might sound weird but after hearing the news from you i felt 'encouraged' to take clips of my room and share them in a vlog here. It's not about showing my stuff, but rather documenting a simple journey in designing a place to call home. Watching your videos rlly make me feel relaxed, and even if there won't be vids of your amazing home anymore, i do think people are still here not for your contents but for your presence. Thank you for keeping us updated! Here to support, praying for a fresh start! Sending prayers!!
You will start a new, more beautiful life with Chris ahead of you.
Benji, your authenticity has created a community of people who totally support anything you create or share because it’s built with purpose, passion, growth and love in mind. Whatever you choose to share or create we are invested and want to see. The road to rebuild and heal will be long but I know I speak for many of us, we’ll be here no matter what. Sending you four so much love.❤
Everything you stated that you feel and the sense of loss is completely normal.
You’re so valid for saying that your belongings have strong sentimental value that you miss, I’m sure it was a traumatic event to lose so much in one night like that, and I hope you all get to heal- we’re all here for you guys!
I've been checking regularly for you. I'm so glad to see you are okay and moving forward. Showing how you found joy and shared so much was very meaningful to me. Yea! for finding your new apartment. Hope to see you soon.
Benji, I think you are in a perfect position channel-wise. Just show us how you start over. I wouldn't have a clue. Id watch.
I believe you guys can get through the emotional and mental strain the fire has caused! Take us on this journey, esp those of us who live in other states, bring awareness to rising from the ashes and how you guys grow moving forward. Your videos have always brought me peace of mind and a sense of calm, I appreciate you for staying true to yourself and for being resilient. - from a US airman stationed in the cold. Stay safe!
Everything you do, including your reconstruction process at this time, it will be wonderful to follow your channel, WE ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU, FOR YOUR PERSONALITY AND CHARISMA, WE ALWAYS LOVE YOU. ❤❤❤
We are with you Benji. All of our positive energy is flowing your way and it will surely make an influence. Make short videos on what’s happening around you. Cleaning up in the burnt out suburbs. Chatting with residents. Visiting plant nurseries. Theo taking a bath. We love anything that you come up with. 😊
Hey, I think it is totally okay to grief the things you lost. We as a society should stop thinking, that we can only grief people who are gone. As you said, your belongings, your plants, your house were all a part of you. A part of you perished. But it will live on in your memories, your youtube channel and thus in all of us viewers. Remember, grief is an important part of the healing process. Allow it to happen :)
I’ve always enjoyed your videos, they are always very calming to watch. I’m so glad Theo is ok and he absolutely doesn’t care as long as he’s with you. I have a chihuahua too so I have a special place in my heart for all of them. I can’t imagine what your feeling right now. I wish you guys the best of luck for the future. You are young and will come back even stronger. Keep us posted on your journey.
I am here to watch you. You give people a sense of calm just by your soothing tone and caring personality. This is what makes people come back. You have taught us the importance of the small things in life. Teach us how to start over, teach us how to find old plants, teach us how to share our plants. Your community you have created on this channel care about you!
4:19 you lost a part of you, your personality, heirlooms and things that hold a story. Your story. But the story continues, new chapters, new plants. You can’t change whats allready written in your book❤️ in continues but can’t be changed. Stay strong we Will be here, for you!
I remember how you were excited about that cool couch you'd just bought.
Benji thank you for opening your heart to us. You always have our support.
One thing that I hope can give you perspective about all of your lost items is that because of your channel, you’ve been able to record so much of that stuff and you have a wonderful video album, in a sense, to look through. Most people wouldn’t even have a few good photos of their home. That is special in and of itself.
Also, please know you do not owe us any cadence of videos. We love to see you but in the end, your content is loved because it is genuine. Not because you promised it to us. So let this new phase of life take you where it may and take us with you, or don’t. Just do what feels right to you and do it wholeheartedly. And that’s what counts. ❤
It's so reassuring to see ur face in a safe comfortable place. U are cared about! I am so sorry for all u went and are going thru! No one can tell how to feel or when those feelings will get sorted but if u havent thought about therapy and journaling, please consider it to help the process. The more tools u have, the faster & more comfortably u can rebuild ur life.
Im so happy u'll still be on youtube, the world needs to see the kind hearted good people like u. Please buy urself 1 plant to start taking care of asap. That may be very healing. Love to u & urs!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am so sorry about everything. I have been following your work (aka your life) for years, and you have always been an inspiration to me and an immense source of healing when I needed it. I hope you are well despite this tragic event.
You'll always have my support for however you are able to show up. Thank You for keep us up to date. Best of luck in the apartment search.
You can do it Benj and Chris! Hugs to both of you.❤️
Hey Benji, I personally think continuing making videos can be a great creative output in the mean time as you resettle into a place and get back into routines. Even if it’s more diary/thought style videos about readjusting to life after the fires, I think a lot of people would find comfort in something like that. Hope you and Chris are doing alright and fingers crossed for you guys finding a new place that you like, even if it’s meant to be temporary.
It's nice to see you safe and sound, and not looking quite as devastated as you did just after you lost your house. I *so* look forward to you and Chris settling in a new place where you can create new videos about your home improvements and your new plants. I will also miss the plants you lost, though not as much as you.
I'm so sorry Benji for your loss. Plants are like babies... when one dies, I genuinely feel so sad after all it's a living thing that we spend time nurturing and loving.. many of which last years and years. On top of that you lost all your sentimental things. We live in OC and have had to evacuate twice. Each time the packing process feels very half-assed and confusing. These winds and the fires this time hit different. In Socal, many of us know of someone who lost their home. Thank you for opening up and sharing the complexities of how you're feeling. We're rooting for you as you begin a new chapter. ❤
Sweetheart, we all care about your plants but we care more about you, your partner and your pets more. More than anything we are glad that you are sage and we will stick around and watch you build your life with things all over again.n I'm so sorry about your beautiful home and your plants but at the end of the day, your safety was more important to us. Wishing you guys all the best. ❤
All the things of value (you, Chris, Theo, Winnie) are safe. Rebuilding and recording your journey is the next chapter.
Even if you reviewed your posted content and talked about how that went or what you learned since then, I'd still rewatch them with you. You're great!
Do your thing, Benji. We'll be here for whatever you choose to share with us.
I’m so happy to hear that you’ll still post videos!!! I think YOU are amazing and everything and anything you post I WILL be watching. I am moving into a cookie cutter home and hearing that you might post videos of how you’ll decorate your new apartment is so exciting to me! Just know that many of us will support you no matter what you do ❤
Benji, i found you only in the wake of your tragedy, and your kind spirit and soft voice are such a comfort that I’d happily listen to whatever you are passionate about sharing. Be well.
Very sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing your feelings.
You are a very thoughtful person and I agree, what you grew and collected were done with purpose and feeling. I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose the items I have collected over time or my favorite clothes. But your feelings of loss are real and I hope that you are able to find a way to cope. Talking to us about things can help you figure things out too.
I am so happy you are able to try and get your bearings in a home that reflects your values. Hope you are able to find a good rental soon.
I love this idea of showing ways to make an apartment feel like a home! Your style is stunning, and I am so excited to see the future content. This channel feels like home! Please take part in self care. We are so proud of you, believe in you, and love you.
13:20 We’ll still be here, Benji
sending you so much love!! 🫶🏻
I love how you have photos of some of the things you lost that were special to you. Although they are gone physically, the sweet memories remain. I'll continue to keep you all in my prayers that you'll get to recreate a magical, cozy place full of plants for you Chris and Theo. It's so nice that you have friends and family and cozy places to stay while you're going through this. I feel like you'll find a place just as unique and special and look forward to seeing you fill it up with more plants, deco and love
Nice to see you and knowing your are in your way to normal life. One idea for your videos is to check out plants stores around the areas you are looking or applying for apartments and wish plants that they carry you might be interested in purchasing for your new collection. Think about how fun it could be to able to bring more plants into your new collection!
At the end of the day, you are grieving the life you had and that’s totally okay. It’s normal to grieve your possessions that made you feel like at home, the sentiments that you’ve collected over your lifetime and made you who you are. Sometimes, it can be like loosing a person all over again, like the sweater. Take all the time you need and stay healthy. The sun will shine again as soon as you begin to build a new home, care for and grow new plants, collect new possessions and create a new life. I We love y’all and I can promise you that we will all be here to follow that new journey if you decide to share it! ❤
Every single one of your feelings are so valid. I can't imagine what you're going through but as someone who grew up where hurricanes are common, I understand the feeling of "If I pack too much, I'm manifesting". It's so valid! I'm glad that everyone is safe and although your plants are no longer here, you loved and cared for them so much. They lived a beautiful life. Same with your fishies and shrimps. Please take care of yourself, go to therapy or support groups but also make time for being happy. I'm glad you're all okay. I know you will feel happy and fulfilled and soon, there won't be any sorrow.
Please do some more interviews of other plant lovers. Your video of JiaHao's apartment was a real treat. During this time of your life, why not enjoy what others have propagated and share the beauty and knowledge of those communities with us here.
That would be awesome if he could go on the road and interview other plant lovers, I’d definitely love to watch that!
My very first plant died after 7 years of me caring for it when I was sick. I blamed myself and I grieved a long time. I hope you take the time to grieve and process what has happened. Also thank you for the advice on evacuating. I get so many tornado warnings, and even have been in minor ones. This reminds me that I have not been taking it seriously because I take things for granted.
You have every right to feel the way you over personal items, especially towards your plants and fishes. You put so much passion and love in all you do. You’re grieving and will take time for you to recover.
Great to see you back! Please share any videos you’d like; we’re all here with you, Benji!
So glad to be able to hear that everyone is ok in your household.
Hi, I’m new here. Your video popped up on my feed. I’m so sorry you lost your house. I can’t imagine how that feels. Your home was your safe place and the things in it were part of you. It’s perfectly ok to grieve them. Grief is part of the process. You had a beautiful home and I know, one day, you will find another place to make beautiful again. Love to you and your little family. I will be coming here again. ❤
We love you Benji and Chris ❤❤❤
Aww, your thought process is not at all stupid and your thoughts and feelings are so appropriate for what you’ve been through. I’m so sorry about your grampas sweater, your mom’s jewelry box and orchid, and the shrimp. You can never be too sad in grief. Lean in, that is your way through. Sending you all so much love. The ice skating is so amazing right now❄️🤗 Embrace your grief like your ice skating ❤
Oh Benji, I’m so glad you are going to continue filming. My heart aches for you. I’m praying you will find a place you’ll love. When you can get settled and start some more plants that will help. Everything you are feeling is normal. Take the time you need to heal. We’ll be here when you are ready. That’s a beautiful home your friends invited you to stay in while they are gone. What a blessing. Hugs❤❤
Dear Benji,
I can’t put into words the feelings I have for your loss. It’s definitely hard to comprehend something like that. I started watching your videos 10-20 days before the catastrophe, and I have to say how much I love your content. I got really attached to every bit of your old home and the plants-oh God, the plants! I was so excited to watch them grow through your camera. I was manifesting all of that, hoping it could someday be my reality too.
I’m truly sorry for your loss, and I hope that one day, you’ll be able to rebuild everything from the ground up. Stay strong.
Hi benji, i just wanted to let you know that even though we love plants, etc and all your content related to it, the reason we watch you is because we like you and it doesnt matter if its vlogs, or catching up videos, we'll watch them bc we like how you are!!! im so glad you still be here, ofc take all the time you need we all understand and will be here on the next videos
I LOVE Tom & Christian as well. Love that yall are there for each other.
My older brother's house exploded in 2013, due to a faulty furnace switch. You ne er truly understand tge magnitude of the loss from a house fire until you've experienced it. So many momentoes and keepsakes. Plus some things you don't realize are gone until you need them or on a special day later in tge year. Praying peace, comfort, & reestablishment in 2025.
