Doctor diagnoses angina ,short breathlessness and erratic bp ranges 150 to 190. Which oil and in how much quantity should be taken.Please advice.

It is advisable to restrict oil and salt intake for your patient. Target BP for age of 74 should be less than 150/90. Use any cooking oil like rice bran, soyabean, saffflower but make sure to use it in less quality. Consult your treating doctor for further advise.

Basant, it is better to avoid refined oil as refining removes healthy ingredients from oils. Extra virgin, cirgin or cold compressed oils are better. Hope this helps

Thanks for the feedback. Ghee is an important part of Indian diet. It is a very good source of many Vitamins like Vitamin A and Vitamin D. It’s a good source of MUFAs. But also has a large amount of saturated fats and cholesterol. It should be consumed in smaller quantities. Half teaspoon a day with an active lifestyle would provide you with the essential vitamins and MUFAs.
