i feel horrible that she already feels this negative about the industry when she hasn’t even broken into it, i hope she ends up finding her niche and gets back into it because she has what it truly takes.
maybe she should stay out of it. even grown adults who are models are exploited and harassed.
A few of my friends are in modelling and it is extremely stressful and negative on your mental health. It's a challenge for them daily and there is abuse in modelling. It's not all fame and money.
Yeah, I get that she is young and a bit naive but at what point does she need to do her research and realize she is actively trying to break into a notoriously toxic industry? Like, what does she expect?

She is rllyyy stunning but ppl don’t realize modeling mostly looks for unique looking people not solely just “attractive” people. I got scouted once and said I had a unique look. So this is motivation for people who want to model, you might have something unique someone who wants, apply!!

@@ik2822 I thought I responded but I’m 5’5 and the agency who scouted me on IG liked my look but I didn’t get it because I needed to be at least 5’6 so I get it. I haven’t applied to agencies yet (too busy) but I feel like if I did at least ONE mother agency could accept me. We can’t do runway but there’s options for magazine modeling and such! I even know some big agencies like Wilhelmina is more lenient with height and does have petite models!!

that is the sort of thing that happens when too many people want a job for the work available: people start paying for the privilege of being considered for a job. you can pay a ton of money to get people to consider you as an athlete or musician too, because more people want those jobs than can have them too.
i don’t know much abt modeling but since it’s not a big company they don’t pay for you only the bigger ones do probably

I'm signed with a modelling agency and I agree that modelling is about sacrifice. They choose your hair colour, they choose your style whether you like it or not. Most of the time I do my modelling job, I barely eat. I can get randomly a modelling job appointment in a different town and like I have to attend it right away (they don't care what I do and where I am), I'm a full time master student and I also have corporate jobs. Modelling is not my primary income, it is just actually for fun. Good that I could earn a bit money from it but it's not enough to make a living. I'm thinking of quitting my agency or just being a freelance. I feel like they control my life and sometimes they are egoist, being pushy without thinking from my pov.I don't regret anything, it was worth for a life lesson

Hey girl! I've been modelling for a living for 9 years now but it's not a career I chose, I just got really lucky. Just so you know, you can TOTALLY model without an agency! Plenty of companies and brands find potential models from Instagram nowadays. Being in a modelling agency basically means that you will go to LOT'S of auditions. Sometimes agencies can have "ties" with certain brands or magazines and can get you jobs but most of the time their job is just to answer phone calls and take 50% of your money :)
Being in an agency definitely puts a ton of pressure on you and limits certain things you can do with you life so please think about it before you sign any serious contracts!

Most modeling agencies are looking for a specific look, so if you get rejected it doesn’t mean you’re not attractive enough. Apply to a modeling agency that is specific for you

The thing i really got when modelling is that you are their product. I did it for abit and after just chose to go freelance. My mental health and vibe with my body got way better afterwards. No regrets just life lessons. It also brought me alot of good stuff. Goodluck on your journey, you can do it!

This is super cool! Test shoots poses are usually just casual and meant to show your body shape to clients. The final photos turned out so gorgeous, you are a natural.
It's a $1,000 per image to get rights to photos u model in damn that's a lot of money to own the right s to them 😭
I have a friend who models as well and what you described matches her experience too. She has almost no control over hair color etc., has to limit how much and what she gets to eat, and has to travel for shoots at all hours of the day. Also modeling makes money but definitely not as much as people claim it to be. Besides the drawbacks this is a career she chose for herself and she is doing better more recently, I hope your situation improves soon too ❤ I also suggest looking into working freelance as I’ve heard that agencies are super restrictive whereas freelance can let you have more control over your appearance!
just like u said about modeling i really love the way i function in front of the camera, its like all my insecurities just disappear and my only thought is about posing, i concentrate so much on it and i enjoy it that much that i forget about the rest

Also that is a very black brown. I'd be upset to. I think that's alright. Starting out in an industry like this, as I've seen from the comments, is difficult. They kinda own your image. I think at some point you could totally model independently. IDK how it works though.

My goodness - not only was this video VERY inspirational (I'm pretty sure we're the same age) and moving, but also just like. It really shows how awesome you are as a person. Modeling or not, professional or freelance, your go-getter attitude and your genuine personality will get you to where you're really meant to be in life, wherever that may be :)

It shows how much of a budget you would need just to start modeling too, even though the test shoots can be provided for free, you pay for your own flights, your own hotel, and your hair expenses 😅 I think if anyone wants to model, having your natural hair color is you best bet, it will cut a lot of expenses from maintenance…

Curious as to why they didn’t choose to keep your red hair (as you were in the Dior show), you looked very eye-catching and it suited you very well
Unnatural hair is a no-no because models are meant to be a "blank canvas." Dior might've liked it, but the majority of designers don't want bright hair colours (a distraction from the clothes) unless they give it to you.

Modeling has always been something I wanted to do, but all of my family wanted me to do it without knowing I did, so it made me start to give up on my dream of modeling and get into astronomy. I don't really do well with pressure so.. Good way to help your child/sibling give up on their dream, family :D
