Chicken Cordon Bleu - 3 Ways

  • In this tutorial, I am showing you 3 ways to make your chicken cordon bleu. Choose any method which you think is applicable to how you will serve it. Regardless of the version/ways, they will all taste the same. For those who are wondering why my ham is very light and pale in color, it is because when I made this video, the only ham available in the supermarket was chicken ham because Cebu did not allow the entry of pork and pork products from Manila due to the danger of ASF. Chicken ham is paler in color than pork ham. Taste and health wise, it is a matter of personal preference. You can prepare cordon bleu ahead of time. Wrap them well and freeze.
    Ready to cook on days you are too tired to cook. Thaw and fry or bake.

    I will never forget this recipe Chef because I had a funny experience. Remember I told you I love watching your videos during my shift. So while working I fell asleep and dreamt of the last recipe I watched which is your Chicken Cordon Bleu. So when the phone rang, the customer told me he needed help with his license and I replied " you need to slice the meat, cut it into half, and then hammer hammer hammer". Then he said what are you talking about?, he hang up. I was really half awake and half asleep at that time. Memories of your Chicken Cordon recipe..hahahaha

    Thanks Chef Rose for another great recipe. I love the different ways of preparing chicken cordon bleu. And as always you make it very easy for us to follow. You mentioned that bacon will be good too instead of ham, I'm wondering if I should cook or not the bacon before I add it to the chicken?

      I use the bacon raw. Easier to roll and gives a nice swirl. Thank you for watching!

    As I don’t like chicken breast , I would like to know if you can use chicken thighs for cordon blue.

      Yes you can but it will be a bit more difficult to roll with the tendons. But sure do give it a try. I am not a chicken breast person myself so I can relate.

    can. iask if pwede poba ilagay sa chiller un chiken na nalagyan napo ng breadrumbs, the next day ko na po ifried pra sana iwas hassle? thank u si much sana masagot

      Pwede but better if you freeze it. Take it out an hour before you fry.

    What is the plastic wrap you used Chef Rose? Do you also cook the ham before adding it?

      No need to precook the ham because it is already cooked when you buy it.
      I use Eagle plastic wrap or any brand of plastic wrap. You can use any plastic sheet. Cling wrap will also do.
