Scanimation is the art of real-life animated pictures, based on tricking our brain to give an illusion of movement. Art pieces of similar directions were being created for a long time, but only recently the term "scanimation" was introduced by an amazing artist, Rufus Butler Seder.

I am wanting to create tattoos like this and then have an app on a phone that can be used to see the image. I assume it would have to be written down as size of phone screen correct!? And also when I go to press scanimate I can’t because it’s not green it’s still

LO LOGRÉ, en el caso de usar illustratrator 2021 exporta A4 en 3508x2482 en vez de 2480 por eso la página no reconoce la medida, usen recorte en photoshop para eliminar esos dos pixeles y listo.
Can you produce the scanimation effect by moving viewer instead of moving the grid? For instance, while viewer is moving as on a bicycle and keeping the image and grid stationary?
yes, to do that, you have to put grid on glass and have a gap between grid and the scanimation, so that when passing by, the grid shifts visually
@@WispYart thank you for the response. That makes sense. I am a bicycle advocate and am running a group called Climate Revolutions by Bike. We are a group to encourage people to ride bikes as their main mode of transportation. And now especially with Covid, I am focusing on enticing people to ride by putting eye grabbing art installations on bike paths. I think i can accomplish the animation effect by using wooden slats as grid in front of the picture image.

You can use copier paper and cut the white lines with cutter, that will result in paper grid instead of transparent one and it works as good as transparent one
Thank you for this tool, but I am using your tool and have uploaded 6 frames of black silhouette on a white background and it is not generating an image for the scanimation - here is the info - 6 jpgs size of page is 2550 x 1650. The app tool shows me the animation - and it all looks good, but when I try to download or play the scanimation - the image is just a blank white page - pls advise, your assistance is greatly appreciated
That's not supposed to happen, you should be able to see the scanimation on the preview.

It's a shame but I have exactly the same problem with any image and even on different computers, is there a way to solve this bug ? Even with the images of the tutorial it's the same, Thank you for your reply

I am sure any transparent paper will work for scanimation, so if you can find non-acetate transparency, then it will do

I have tried also using pngs as well, nothing happens - no image. I also tried with your images and again -just a plain white page - no scanimate image?
It should work with tutorial images, I just tested it myself. Which OS/browser are you using?

You could access the transcript of the video and run it though the translator. I don't speak Spanish myself, so that would be the best we can do.
