I'm just heading into the comments on a quest to find triangular upper motor mount brackets being discussed. Good shots at the beginning giving us the side view from where you must have sat thinking. Very interesting and enjoyable project. There's always many ways to do things. It's understanding the why and then sometimes understanding it a little deeper that I find keeps it interesting.
Looks awesome, being so lightweight hopefully the vibration won’t be to bad once she’s up and going. Very nice build. That plasma cutter is a god send. The world is your oyster with that thing. Can’t wait to see it up and running.
Looooovin the construction and the process. Perfect bike for a plasma company to show off what can be made with their equipment AND showing off your talent as a fabricator. Whether it’s cars or bikes, your skills are mind blowing! Add the little dashes of humour and comedy, no wonder I’m hooked !!
God damn it Matt! You are a master! I don't know how people so young as yourself hav the time to become master fabricators but you, you mate, you are the best! I came to UK in Northampton at college in 07 and i loved all the time spent there. Love the channel!!! Can't wait to see the next episode.
it always amazes me how nice your welds look., love to see this come together. cannot wait to see what the aluminium tank is going to look like . great content! cheers.
It's looking good Matt you build it as you visualised never mind negative comment.Looking forward to watching progress and Thanks for sharing your vision.
Going to be one hell of a different machine. Hanging to see what it looks like, although i am curious as to how the frame will be finished. Hopefully not covered in powder coat. Would be great to see some form of a clear coat to really show the work that has gone into it.
Around 1,5 times heavier than the bobber frame you disassembled. If you want to build a frame out of sheet, take 2 mm sheet, cut holes to it and bend bevels, then hammer, or drum the half-cuts to oval halves, and weld them with top and bottom seams. All the mentioned processes are required to gain the final spring-like flex and memory, and also lightness, so that the frame is ridable. Try to make the next one 1,5 times lighter. Around 8 kilograms with full suspension for a decent goal.
What it looks like when The Predator builds himself a bike from scratch. Looking freaking sweet mate! There will always be naysayers, so let's see what they have to say when you get to eat the pudding!
Enjoyed the steady progress on the bike. Looking forward to the forks. Sounds like the bloody peelers are about the door trying to get in for a pinch ! Always hate the way the wind makes the door shout so much. I have put in too much time in the past with card board stuffing it in every gap to try to stop all the rattling to no avail.
Great video Matt 👍🏻 Your channel is so original it's perfect with a little of everts going on 😊 Keep up the fantastic work Buddy 🤣 Look after yourself and your family Cheers Stevie 😎
@MichaelKingsfordGray If my punctuation or lack thereof is all you have to worry about then you have a blessed life First and only answer as I stopped having to explain myself re my grammar and punctuation 40 yrs ago When I left school
The engine brackets are nice, they would have fit the design a bit better if they were square stock placed in as diamonds, just my opinion tho. Keep up the sweet builds.
I am definitely of a different generation. To me a jelly mould is, and always will be, a Morris Minor 😂. The original Sierra was just about the ugliest car Ford ever produced in the U.K.
the bike frame ur building is slightly larger anyway so its going to be heavier than the original. dont worry about the people who worry about the weight, they wont be using the bike lol.. it looks great awesome job so far. i know where to come when i need a chopper built 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Looks very good and thanks for the vids. That is the art deco versions - all angles and straight lines. Perhaps you would consider an art nuevo version - all curves and all smooth lines etc. Just for fun of course
Nice welds I wish I could have some one weld my chassis like that also I always wanted to do a frame some thing like this I would like to do a big wheel fat tire mini bike like this like a Honda 200x build I already build them but would like to do a frame some thing like this any way I like what you do keep up the good builds and stay safe and healthy .Steven
It seems like I remember you saying in the beginning that the main purpose of the bike was to give an example of what can be done on the plasma table, but it would still function and be rideable like a conventional tube frame bike. If I'm remembering correctly, then I'd say you're on target. Great build, even for a non-rider like me.
I think it would be best with 2 stainless steel water bottles for the fuel tanks, one on each side. So 50 years from now, no one has to fix a rusty tank. I like a clear plastic fuel hose added to show the fuel level.
The only thing that may be a concern is the vibration going through the frame once finished as the engine is solidly mounted with no rubber bushings. Apart from that a top job Matt
Exactly what I was thinking. It'd look good with laser cut wheel spokes in the style of the paddle wheel covers on the great eastern. Weld them to the original steel rims.
Who cares how heavy it is! the cool factor will be 100,plus its not a race bike or for that matter not even an every day cruiser., its basically just a showpiece for the the plasma cutter company.
The weight is important for road holding, braking, other factors and is empirical. The cool factor is subjective and the uniqueness is undeniable. Using a low powered engine is clearly a smart move. Looking forward to seeing it run...
@@johnstilljohn3181 as I said, it is a showpiece for the plasma cutting company, Matt Will Probably be the only one that's rides it and that will only be once or twice..
Nice job Matt. There's things I would have done differently, but then I wouldn't have started a project like this. Plenty of strength and only a marginal weight increase, no doubt the finished bike will be some lighter than an original factory edition.
curious to see wat shape you make the tank seen a bike a while back where they left the top tube bare and build the tank under the seat (they made it with a rearpiece that held the taillight), that might work on youre frame as it leaves it totaly bare and in view the tank can act as a rearmudguard too
I’m 15 years old and I’m a young self taught welder u are a great inspiration bud great design and awesome content
Who else was waiting for the “Make the noise” at 5:54?
That was EXACTLY what was going through my head. LOL !
I was going to mention it here in the comments, But you beat me to it Ian. :)
i say this at work and people don't know what it means ,i am sad for them
Hell yes. Nice one. LOL
lol, exactly what i was going to post .. have a like
Me too :)
The kid can definitely stitch! Them's some nice welds.

If you set up a channel that only showed plasma cutting then I would watch it all day. Great stuff
The frame looks great and by design it will promote Xtreme Plasma & Urchfab. A clever build :)

Nice to see real time on the plasma table
Loving your welding. It’s so clean. You, my good sir, are an artist. Keep sharing your builds. Love them all.
Great work! I'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses. Just make sure there is enough space for the front wheel movement clashing with the frame
Enjoying this motorcycle build, can’t wait for the next video.
Brilliant video Matt, frame turning out great - I cannot get over your welding, all ways fantastic. Stay safe.
Fascinating design concept, you got to love that plasma cam, nice welding job, looks like you kept it super straight, bravo!
seems ok to me matt, i like it because its your own creation made to your own specs in your own style, that makes it exclusive :)
Great job Matt, looking forward to see it progress 👍👍

HI...
Taking advantage of the quarantine to proceed with the projects. Around here in Portugal I do the same.

Wow! Super impressive. Nice job. Can’t wait to see more. Pretty radical ride.
Decent welds bud.
Am a welder by trade and I'd of been proud of that job.
Hats off to ya x
I second this comment too

Hit play, hit like, hit the bong. Self isolated bliss
Haha, Cheers Mate.
Looks good to me, it's what you want that matters, keep up the good work and hope you and your family are safe
I was thinking the same thing with this looks heavy. But even if it does weigh a ton, this thing is going to look sweet! Nice job with it.
Everyone telling you what you are doing wrong while sitting on the sofa. Lol. Bike looks great. Can’t wait to see how it turns out
Those people are dim and don't realise it's a concept bike, showcasing the plasma cutter.
This will be epic at the end
Sweet beads man, keep up the cool work! from the mountains of North Carolina, U.S.A
I think the angular look fits in with the general Urchfab theme.
And lovin' how you Blokes say "aluminum" . :)
I got the feeling Matt that shutter door was doing your head in 🤣🤪
Really looking forward to seeing it on its wheels, and also what you do with the tank. Keep up the good work.
You are a true craftsman! Keep up the amazing work!
Looking great. Galvanising might be a suitable heavy duty industrial finish for the frame. Aesthetically.

Great job and Another great video 👍👍🇨🇱
An absolutely amazing fabricator!!!
I was told when lifting bottles with the spine it helps if you add a twisting and jerking motion into the mix
That is a great looking frame.
Thumbs up for the weigh-off. We were all wondering.
Nice welds brother!!!
good one....looks Urch -FAB
Loving this project, deffo needs some custom girder springer
forks on it 👍👍
Great work Matt, frame has turn out well & welds look👍👍
Matt, the Weld Champion!
Coming along nicely this it sounds like you're getting a lot of help in the background there
Nice job Matt!
Some very tidy welding there
Really glad you changed the bottom plate. Looks the mutts nuts now. Keep well.
Don’t forget to add the weight of the original swing arm and shocks😉

If you made engine mounts front and rear like triangle shape id woud add mutch more strenght to to frame. You welds are so good.
Matt please try and make a girder/springer front end. Top work!
More jelly mould in the background, got to be the next project. ;)
you are really good, i love watching you work
Love your work, weight ain’t a problem, it’s a show bike, not a race bike.
The original engine brackets were triangulated, so you might need some side bracing to add rigidity.
The two rigid mounts on the bottom of the engine should do the trick.
It's not a turbo LS
Great video Matt 👍🏻 Your channel is so original it's perfect with a little of everts going on 😊 Keep up the fantastic work Buddy 🤣 Look after yourself and your family Cheers Stevie 😎
saddlebag petrol cans tanks very steampunk protect your back car hoist for bottle lifting
The thing is,its a chopper. Not a gp bike. It can weigh 2ton. It doesn't matter ,its a chopper
Indeed.
You do awesome work. Thank you.
Matt Urch, the Jesse James of Great Britain!!
The weight will be nothing to worry about at all ,,,nice design and excellent welding,,look forward to
Further progress

The lead shot to fill the original frame tubes would be worth every penny just to mess with our heads.
Top job Matt looking good 😎

Don't worry about what other people think matt
Do what you do
Again the channel is awesome!!
But what's up with the gold jelly mould ??
I am definitely of a different generation. To me a jelly mould is, and always will be, a Morris Minor 😂. The original Sierra was just about the ugliest car Ford ever produced in the U.K.
Its in for a cage.

F what people say build it ride it enjoy it Great content
absolutely marvelous work 💎💎💎💎💎💎✌️🤫
Seems your design would work well with a Horst link suspension if you wanted a soft tail
very neat so far
Those telling you it'll never work probably haven't done what you're doing so their opinion is moot
I second this comment

I wish I could hammer the like button again, and again, and again, and again......
Looks very good and thanks for the vids. That is the art deco versions - all angles and straight lines. Perhaps you would consider an art nuevo version - all curves and all smooth lines etc.

Looks tough!
Have you checked if you can change oil filter without taking engine out. Love the channel.
One of my Wives loves motorcycles, I bet she'd get a kick out of this.

Embrace the heavy :) cast iron texture powder coat would look good, even give a polish/surface grind to the edges, under a satin clear coat.
Awesome 👍🏾👍🏾
couple of fire extinguishers would make a nice tank to match , the brass riveted ones .
one each side , very industrial looking.
I think it would be best with 2 stainless steel water bottles for the fuel tanks, one on each side. So 50 years from now, no one has to fix a rusty tank. I like a clear plastic fuel hose added to show the fuel level.
I find it fascinating to watch the plasma cutter. How long was it before you could walk away and do something else while it was running?
You have to keep an eye on it really in case a cut piece tips and hits the torch.
The only thing that may be a concern is the vibration going through the frame once finished as the engine is solidly mounted with no rubber bushings. Apart from that a top job Matt
That frame looks like something Isambard Kingdom Brunel would design.
Exactly what I was thinking. It'd look good with laser cut wheel spokes in the style of the paddle wheel covers on the great eastern. Weld them to the original steel rims.
Has Isambard got a TH-cam channel?

I think it needs some hand made copper soldered tanks and copper rivets !
Wounderful work as always, are u taking on any work at the moment ..?.
