YES!! Congrats to you! Theyre absolutely going to love your cosplay and your performance in sweden I just know it. And omg yeah keep that one, maybe next year we can both sign it and pass it to the next one "the official ncc team usa plug converter" lol
I'm not sure if someone, even Sarah, will read this... But your content encouraged me to start sewing my own cosplays and over all do new things without the fear of failing or simply not winning, I started cosplay via TikTok, later realizing that in my country people were doing small cons and gatherings. The year after that, I participated in my first competition, and I've been amazed at all the things that I was capable of doing but never knew since I was too afraid to try them and fail. Thank you so much for all the things you helped me with
Same here!! I’m getting more into the fursuit side of cosplay more than.. whatever you call the other parts.. but Sarah honestly has given me a lot of the courage to try!! Doesn’t mean I’m not planning on dipping my toe into more of the ‘normal’ side of cosplay though lol
I'm genuinely so proud to hear she inspired you !!! Wish me luck I want to start my journey to learn how to sew my own stuff soon within the next few years The 2 hardest steps to sewing cosplay 1...the beginning 2 .... actually finishing it within reasonable time and not during con crunch like a maniac
Oh! Do you have a Instagram you post your cosplays to and oe sewing projects? IF you do please tell me, if not that's totally fine - but I'd love to go send encouragement and pay it forward
Aaaah it's me, the very not biased Link 😂 It made for such a funny moment, but I really wanted to highlight their amazing work, using creative techniques that felt true to their characters! Moreover, they exemplified what it is to be a duo because their cosplays together looked so cohesive ❤ Thank you, Sarah for this! It was my first HolMat and I loved every moment of it! There's so much I can relive and cherish through this video, as well as seeing some of what I had missed. To be honest, one of the things I was excited about was the possibility of meeting you. While sadly our schedules did not seem to align, I was happy enough to have seen you during the performances, as well as during awarding! It was enough for me seeing you in your element, among a community that loves you, and passing on the torch that you held so well. Thank you for all that you do!
Haha! Thier cosplays were so amazing! And that moment where you laugh at yourself and say you arent biased was just so funny i had to keep it in. Im so glad you hat fun at holmat! Sorry we couldnt meet but thanks for all the hard work you and the other judges did!
That was SUCH great timing at a unplanned Zelda reunion of cosplays ! It made that moment all the better And you kidding? Even if you are a little biased there is SO MUCH detail that goes into those beautiful cosplays either way glad to see everyone got love
The answer to your question about Worbla is Wonderflex! I used to use that when I cosplayed cause I think it was cheaper or more accessible to me back then. I didn't see anyone else say anything (could be wrong though) so I thought I'd answer that part of the video
Oh man Wonderflex! Haven't thought of that stuff in *years* My guess was Terraflex because of the color, but I'm not sure as I think Wonderflex actually was more used/known? I'm not sure though
aaah i knew what she was talking about but i couldn't get the name in my head correctly. yes i remember! when i started out with cosplay that was the go-to material back then!
As a western fashion historian, i give all the claps and praise to the Lankskrecht Mario and Luigi from Pins&Snips! I dont study that era or location, but I have a personal love Landskrecht fashion for how over the top and colourful it is. If you see this Sarah give my praise!
Sarah!!! Ahhhh!!! I know this only happened less than a month ago, but thank you so much for this video and compiling all of the amazing things that happened this year at Holmat ❤ A huge congrats to all of the winners at the WCC and to your amazing Idol Fest performance!!
That Phantom of the Opera cosplay looks like the genuine costumes from the production at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011! I had to rewatch that section, it was really incredible!
@@SarahSpaceman Of course!! Glad you were able to finally read it! I don't think I mentioned this but the competition I mentioned in it would be my first skit comp and I'm doing it literally because you made it look so fun😭
Watching cosplayer content like yours has really changed how I consume content related to this hobby. Its helped me see how these show stopping peices are made and how its not easy but 100% doable with practice and dedication. So seeing all those amazing cosplays The little voice in my head is no longer going "I'll never make anything that good" but instead "OMG I'm going to make something that good someday!" and I appreciate the help your videos have done in changing my old mindset.
I was the Jibaro/Siren/Sequin lady in the WCC and I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to make a cosplay so out of my comfort zone. I could fill a paper with the ways you helped me grow as a cosplayer and person but I’ll keep it short and just say thank you for being you 😊
that was my favourite cosplay in the video! holy shit, that must have been absolutely _insane_ to put together, I can't even imagine. you looked just like her
heyy i know that you'll probably never read this, but i just wanted to say that I absolutely love your cosplays and that you inspired me to get back into sewing. Thank you for that ❤
How is it that you manage to leave me in tears at some point during every video? You always find a way to capture the emotions of the moment. I wasn't able to go to HolMat this year, but watched the WCC livestream on Twitch. I cried when I saw you announce it live and then all over again watching this vid. I can't wait to see what you do next!
Me getting distracted at 13:30 by a princess tutu only for them to win the NCC team USA 🤯 I’m crying bc I love that anime so much they did so good also the connections w Sarah are such good nuggets of fate!
(not saying this in a backhanded compliment way), I find your con vlogs are exactly the con vlogs I like! Your video editing is done super comfortably, both for watching and listening thanks to your good commentary, AND you CREDIT ARTISTS AND COSPLAYERS IN VIDEO. Which is SUPER HELPFUL fo viewers!!!!
12:25 I only started watching Jujitsu Kaisen because at an Anime Con I went to in like 2021, during the AMV contest the announcer would always call it "Choochoo Kaisen". And that's been a running gag in my friend group ever since then.😂
I've almost completed the costume I was working on while watching your serene winter miku series, but it's going to remain unfinished as one of my best friends passed on the 4th this month. His funeral is on the same day as the con that's cosplay contest I was going to enter the costume into, so it'll have to wait. These con vlog and cosplay videos help in lighting my mood after dealing with this stuff so thank you Sarah ❤
I'm dying. Started watching this channel because it's great background and just utterly fascinating while I'm rhinestoning burlesque costumes and now the greatest crossover of crossovers--seeing Kaye (and Matt) who I worked with at the Haunted Mansion at Disney!!
This WCC was so good, i remember being watching it live in the spacecraft server and we were screaming for the fellow members!! Congrats to everyone and ty Sarah for the amazing community!!
Honestly i’ve always loved anime, just haven’t watched like tons of anime because I take breaks. And I love animation in general. And you have honestly been my inspiration to cosplay. I haven’t started yet, but I want to so badly. Cosplaying looks so fun, i’ve always loved playing a character. And the community just seems like one id fit into even with anxiety. I love your videos and hopefully I’ll start cosplaying soon!!
Diana's spotlight and gift made me so happy to see as a stage manager! Backstage work is both so fun and so invisible; it warmed my heart and makes me so happy to see you use your platform to recognize backstage work :)
your videos never fail to make me cry tears of joy. cosplay and the community is the best thing to happen to me and i couldnt be more thankful to everybody in this community, especially you, sarah
Omg the passing on the plug adaptor was so cute and so clever 😂 It feels like you will be with Chikkupea in Norway 🥰. And I loved that Princess Tutu cosplay 😍
I was at the discord meetup and the wcc (unfortunately couldn't make idolfest) and had such a blast!! thank you for such a a lovely community, everyone was so cool and kind at the meetup!
You have inspired me to pursue my passions and I continue to move forward in life. I've been in a very numb spot working 9:00 to 5:00 in a corporate office where we are not seen by anyone in the public. The fact that I was feeling numb before I watch this video made me realize that my intention in this world was to create and invent things. I will be giving Squarespace a try and trying to find some sewing courses and maybe even some cosplay design courses now that this was something graced by you. If we do manage to see each other in the future then I would be more than happy to shake your hand. Thanks.
Your videos have re-ignited my love for cosplay and conventions. I've never been able to get past that part of myself that is too scared to fail when it comes to cosplay, but your videos make it seem so fun and joyous, which is making me want to finally take that leap and get into it like I have been wanting too since I was 12. Thank you for all that you do.
Even tho I’m sure you were frustrated that you dropped the toss- we all still absolutely adored your show and it was amazing! Also I met one of the duo winners at a cosplay academy class! They were so sweet and we did wig spikes together with cowbutt crunchies!!!
I love to see that the color guard instincts never leave the band kids lol. For real, you inspired me to sign up for my first craftsmanship contest. While I didn't win anything (I didn't expect to) you helped me immensely in gaining the confidence to compete :) Hopefully one day I will be able to me in the master class with your video help! haha
it was great to meet you at holmat!!! i didn't get to bring it up in person, but your videos helped push me to record my own crafting process and start really uploading to my channel, so i'm glad to be recognized as a fellow costuber! it's thanks to your inspiration!
I wanna go to a winter con so bad it looks so cozy and special where in summer and spring your sweating like crazy but there not many conventions around where I live o really wanna go to that con but Florida is a 4 hour flight and I would need to go with my parents and I’m not sure if they would fly all that way for a con so….😅😢
HERE WE GO Thank you for doing this. I’ve been feeling alone in the cosplay community bc I haven’t been able to go in awhile and it’s great being able to find other cosplayers again And the fact you decided to not compete and make sure it passes it on is really sweet thank you ❤ Edit: oh no I’m crying
Boy oh boy these always make me cry. You're so inspiring, I absolutely love seeing everyone being so sweet in these con videos. Gives me hope for a future day
It was so lovely to meet you and everyone from the discord! I'm still so over the moon that you liked the artwork. I wanted to share some of my appreciation for how much you've inspired me to get back into attending cons and attempting cosplay again after so many years and drawing various milestone costumes seemed like the best way to portray the journey that inspired me. Thank you so much for all that you do and I can't wait to see what you have next in store to share with us!
I absolutely love your cosplays and your videos! I’m always amazed by how well you edit and record them, I love watching your work. Thank you so much for always showing us your work, methods, editing and passion to cosplay. I will always enjoy your content!! 🫶🫶🫶
god i freakin love you! you're like one of my biggest inspirations. you've made me really want to make my own cosplays. super happy to see you growing!!
I found this channel pretty recently, I was looking for stuff to watch while making two cosplays for some buddies of mine who are going to MagFest. I am so totally invested, and I learned a couple tips that I've actually used for those costumes! Idk if Sarah will ever read this but you have inspired me to try and expand my freelance seamstress work and restart cosplaying again myself, thank you so much for all the excellent videos :D
your con vlogs- especially the cosplay contest related ones- always make me so emotional?? you always manage to capture the atmosphere and the passion for cosplay so well in these videos and its such a wonderful, refreshing reminder of why i love participating in cosplay and conventions in the first place. lovely video, thank you so much for sharing!!! looking forward to the next one :)
Your method of just go for it, it doesn’t need to be perfect, just make it. Has really inspired me and now I’m working on this 3ft tall plush of my oc. I’ve never done machine or hand appliqué before so this is the first time for that. And ngl I’m so nervous but I want my plush child. I don’t even know if I’m gonna have enough fleece for him but we’ll make it work.
I just wanted you to know that you inspired me to not be self conscious about wanting to cosplay and a year ago I made my first cosplay and now a year later I am starting on my 3rd and 4th cosplays and nothing has made me more happy 😊
Hotel like to put the kitchen, the washing machines and all the boring stuff on the 13th floor. Sometime they call it "utility floor" of "administration floor".
Sarah! I come here to say that after watching your shenanigans, i had enough of it. I want to make my own miku (and i picked a kinda hard design, god why)! Thank you for giving me motivation and inspiration to go through with cosplay and drag my friends with me!
Your con's videos always make me cry because it's so beautiful to see such wonderful moments and there's the music and EVERYTHING makes me cry 😭😭 happy tears no worry
currently working on my first major at-home sewing project (previously they’ve all been at school), and this is great timing for me to watch while i work!
Every time I watch one of your videos it just continues to inspire me to try and do cosplay more and more or to even be more involved in my own cities anime convention! I'm hoping to make something sometime this year, not necessarily in time for the con but just for me to test out my sewing skills. Thank you again for posting your story and journey as well as others at the con!
You've given me a lot of content to watch and research and learn from. Knowing that I'm still progressing on my cosplayer journey is a great feeling and you've inspired me to keep going! ❤
you've inspired me so much, i was always telling myself that i should wait to graduate college to start sewing my own cosplay, but watching your videos made me realize if i don't do it now i won't do it period (still gonna graduate haha) but thanks a lot! You probably don't realize the impact you have on other people globally (i'm from france, where the ECG is located!) but i want you to know that just by sharing what you love to do, you help so many people pursue their dreams ( no pressure heh )
I love what you create, not only you inspire so many people but with your videos I always get the feeling you take us with you to the event and it feels like we're there too. I always eagerly await your new upload with excitement and wonder what new adventure is ahead ✨
I got to watch the WCC live and Pins and Snips' cosplays made me grin like an idiot. Truly, some of the most creative outfits and stage walk I've ever seen.
Sarah, You have given me all the hope I need to keep going. You're my favourite cosplayer and every single one of your videos have made me cry in a positive way, I look up to you extremely and hope you continue to cosplay and have fun to your hearts content
every time i see videos like this im just in tears like i wish i had the money to do something like this but is so nice to see people come together like this
hi sarah! i have no idea if you will remember but on friday of holmat my mom and brother came up to you and told you that i kept missing you during the con and that i watch your videos all the time and look up to you a ton, and you were nice enough to do a video for them to give to me. when they gave me the video, i cried lol. thank you so much for stopping to do that, it meant a lot. thanks for your videos and hope to meet you in person face to face one day.
Hello from the Philippines here! I have been cosplaying since 2011 (I was 16) but I stoped at 2013 coz of internal and emotional reasons. When I saw your strawberry miku last year, I binged all of your videos and it made me want to go back to cosplay again. I will be turning 30 this yr and I always think that maybe, I’m too old to go back whenever I want to go back. I have this cosplan to come back in that I have been making since 2019, I have the wig, the shoes, the sword, but when it’s time to making the costume. I got insecure because I am not as young and fit as I am before. This year, I hope I can finally have the courage to get back at it.
I love that you have multiple videos of your con experience! They all feel like the same story told from different points of view and they help fill in the full picture... which I like because I have to live vicariously through you for HolMat :D Your hair is epic in this video, btw! I love the swoosh and curls
I’m super inspired by Sarah to start competing and sewing my own cosplay. Thank u Sarah for inspiring me and I hope the best cosplay luck on u Sarah :3
it's been a year already? that's crazy. these videos always make me so emotional. i am so happy that they have so many awards so everyone can feel special :3
You did amazing at the Idol Fest this year! I had so much fun watching you perform and introduced Idol Fest to a friend of mine for the first time at HolMat (ps she's OBSEESED now and trying to track down a lightstick before her next Idol viewing). Also you walked by our booth in the promotional table section a few times and I kinda freaked out and got to scared to ask for a picture 😅
Seeing you geniunely excited for every winner is definitely what I want to see in every cosplayer. The plug adapter is an incredible idea to gift to your next NCC representative 😂 Maybe next year you'll try ECG so I can meet you in France, you'll probably need another adapter but the trip is definitely worth it. Well, I can't wait to see your next project and what you'll do in 2024. Happy new year Sarah, may it be full of new incredible cosplays ❤❤
I've been watching your content for a while and you inspired me to take that final push into cosplaying, and now I'm going to my first con with one of my friends.
your so amazing sarah!! Ive been a fan for a about maybe a year and im only 11 and ive been getting into sewing cosplays and youve helped me so much!! Thank you
PRINCESS TUTU IS ALIVE AND WELL IN 2024 😭😭❤️❤️ I saw her 5 years ago with her dance battle video and it makes me so want to sososososoooo badly make my own Princess tutu related cosplay. My first officially made cosplay is Ahiru and it makes me so happy that this came up and she won and is going to Sweden for all the older tutu fans. COSPLAY NEVER DIES
I will say you are a big inspiration to me!! I am in basically a con dead zone and can’t travel very often, but I so badly wanna make more!! I found a water gun that I’ll definitely repaint into a miku gun and possibly make a tactical miku (what I’m calling her) design to go with the guns!! :D (If you can’t tell I love the Miku stuff)
I've already been spoiled because of other socials, but congrats ti the new Team USA! I will no doubt be obsessed watching the NCC this summer like I did last year.
To take a crack at the question around 7:30 in the video, is it thibra? I think it mainly comes in a tan color and you don't really have to sand it since it's not grainy. It's very smooth and it can be a bit of a pain to work with compared to worbla.
the cow is so cool !! i loved the passing of the torch and the lore behind it, so sweet! also i went to starbucks on monday and they spelt my name right (lucy) but the next day, with the same barista, they spelt it with an ie and for what ?!?!
coming out to be the only person who knows about THIBRA!! (that's gotta be right because i've been able to get thibra at sculpture supply / art supply stores since way before worbla got popular)
thank you for all the love 🫶🏻🩷 hope I can keep the “torch” passing tradition alive!! 😂
YES!! Congrats to you! Theyre absolutely going to love your cosplay and your performance in sweden I just know it. And omg yeah keep that one, maybe next year we can both sign it and pass it to the next one "the official ncc team usa plug converter" lol
omg yes please do this and keep it going!@@SarahSpaceman
Haha it’s the most handy “torch”
congrats!! you were amazing!!

I wanna go to a winter con so bad it looks so cozy and special where in summer and spring your sweating like crazy but there not many conventions around where I live o really wanna go to that con but Florida is a 4 hour flight and I would need to go with my parents and I’m not sure if they would fly all that way for a con so….😅😢
Thank you for featuring us! We were the Mercy & Reaper Overwatch skit
The answer to the trivia question I believe is thibra but it could also be wonderflex but I’m set on thibra
HERE WE GO
Thank you for doing this. I’ve been feeling alone in the cosplay community bc I haven’t been able to go in awhile and it’s great being able to find other cosplayers again
And the fact you decided to not compete and make sure it passes it on is really sweet thank you ❤
Edit: oh no I’m crying
Boy oh boy these always make me cry.
You're so inspiring, I absolutely love seeing everyone being so sweet in these con videos. Gives me hope for a future day
It was so lovely to meet you and everyone from the discord! I'm still so over the moon that you liked the artwork. I wanted to share some of my appreciation for how much you've inspired me to get back into attending cons and attempting cosplay again after so many years and drawing various milestone costumes seemed like the best way to portray the journey that inspired me. Thank you so much for all that you do and I can't wait to see what you have next in store to share with us!
Thanks so much for it again! I still gotta go get it a frame haha!
Your the reason i started going to conventions again and not caring if people think it's cringe 💗💗💗 I love your cosplays so much💗💗💗💗
Love all the work you’ve done!! You have 1000% inspired me to start cosplay and I am very honored to have seen you grow!
I love your longer vlogs like this. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for getting me back into sewing. Your joy from seeing your friends enjoying themselves is infectious. ❤
How do these videos make me happy cry every time ????? Amazing content as always and congrats to all!
Thank you again for posting your story and journey as well as others at the con!
that jibaro cosplay was INSANE
Gosh these cosplays! They're such a brilliant mix of breath takingly complex and deceptively simple but executed to PERFECTION.
You're my favourite cosplayer and every single one of your videos have made me cry in a positive way, I look up to you extremely and hope you continue to cosplay and have fun to your hearts content
every time i see videos like this im just in tears
like
i wish i had the money to do something like this
but is so nice to see people come together like this
hi sarah! i have no idea if you will remember but on friday of holmat my mom and brother came up to you and told you that i kept missing you during the con and that i watch your videos all the time and look up to you a ton, and you were nice enough to do a video for them to give to me. when they gave me the video, i cried lol. thank you so much for stopping to do that, it meant a lot. thanks for your videos and hope to meet you in person face to face one day.
I got emotional when you passed the torch at the competition and I got emotional again watching it on the video. And that Chikkupea lore is amazing!!
loved the one with pointe shoes (im a dancer and love ballet especially)
This hair color really makes your eyes pop! Love it ❤ suits you really well
It is honestly so fun to watch other people cosplay and enjoy themselves
I love that you have multiple videos of your con experience! They all feel like the same story told from different points of view and they help fill in the full picture... which I like because I have to live vicariously through you for HolMat :D
Your hair is epic in this video, btw!
Can’t believe it’s already been a year! Your strawberry Miku performance videos made me very emotional when they dropped 💜
I loved how the judge cosplaying as link happened to pick that cosplay that day. It’s just the best😂
I've been watching your content for a while and you inspired me to take that final push into cosplaying, and now I'm going to my first con with one of my friends.
8:31 OMG THAT LITTLE OCTO IS CROCHETED AND IM CROCHETING RNN
The 7 degrees of "Kevin Bacon" is also the same in the miniature painting competition world! And it is always *wild*!
18:33 KING GEORGE OMG HAMILTON COSPLAY AHHH
I dont know what it is about your videos but the con vlogs always make me cry in the best way possible
your so amazing sarah!!
It's very smooth and it can be a bit of a pain to work with compared to worbla.
omg new spaceman vlog perfect timing to be my lunch tv !!!
I'm not sure exactly why but I get so emotional every single one of these cosplay videos you make
the cow is so cool !! i loved the passing of the torch and the lore behind it, so sweet!
also i went to starbucks on monday and they spelt my name right (lucy) but the next day, with the same barista, they spelt it with an ie and for what ?!?!
18:30 IT’S QIFREY! Qifrey is amazing
Aaa Sarah i love your videos so much!! You inspired me to enter my first cosplay contest and I'm doing the world is mine dance too!!
Pins and Snip were so cute!!
coming out to be the only person who knows about THIBRA!! (that's gotta be right because i've been able to get thibra at sculpture supply / art supply stores since way before worbla got popular)
