I couldn't agree more, curlin was amazing in this race and so was Street sense, and Hard Spun. This year was my favourite year for the triple crown of maybe since Point given.
jgb3 thats tom Durkin, I was lucky to grow up with him calling the races on the New York circuit. He’s the best track announcer to ever step foot into a booth .
@@justinnicklas4712 The guy is phenomenal. I've watched this about 20 times and I am still impressed how he injects so much information into his call. He's doing this in real time but he almost sounds like he had an hour to write his commentary.
He stumbled at the start. Nobody ever talks about that when talking about this race. Profoundly under appreciated horse. He wins back to back classics if on dirt. It's a shame a true dirt horse can't be himself in this age of synthetics. That said shit call by Durkin.
One of the best crop of 3 year olds I've seen. Only one missing here was Rags to Riches. Thank God too cause the handicap horses were sub-par that year.
Both horses ran a huge race!No one deserved to lose,I think they tied (or came very close at the very least)the Stakes record time. These two were very close in running ability. Street Sense took Curlin in the K-Derby,then they had this epic meeting, and later Curlin got Street Sense in the BB Classic. The only thing disappointing about that was the horrid track conditions. But oh well everyone had to run on it. I think it did compromise Street's chances though. TWO GREAT HORSES!!!!!
All these years later, & I’m still mad Hard Spun’s jockey asked him to go for the lead when he did. Moving into those already blazing fractions took away his kick. Imagine the stretch drive between him, Curlin, & Street Sense if Pino just would have waited.
Curlin has very big huge strides, I can see his strides weren't as fast acceleration as Street sense but he sure did come up to get there. And It did look like SS was gonna get there, his strides to me were more impressive, but it just goes to show that curlin was being a little stubborn i kinda think.
@@WellArmed3332 Rags to Riches stumbled coming out of the gate, ran wide pretty much all the way, a lot of ground to make up. She 100% earned that win.
Very underrated race. One of the best triple crown races of the 21st century.
Best horse of his generation by a block, and in the breeding shed too.
wow the 2007 triple crown was one of the best-even though three different horses won all of the races were very exciting!

A bold reminder that it’s not over ‘til it’s over. Looked as though Curlin was done but came back. Wow.
Jeez, I forgot how close this race was. I think 2007 was a great year for the TC, as all three races were immensely exciting. Hard to pick a favorite.
This announcer is simply amazing. I'm convinced he could make Designing Women interesting

I loved Street Sense, he won me thousands, but yes Rags was also a favorite of mine.
I remember this race like it was yesterday
2007, the year where stumbling out of the gate equals a win.

curlin the grandpa of rich strike. curlin is very proud of his grandson.
"street sense in deep water"
class race that. lucky suit!
Photo Finish!!!!!! I wish I was there to witness that.
“Street Sense in deep water” Wow
Good call. Borel has always had a habit of doing stupid things like that. He also misrode Mine that Bird in the Belmont.

didn't larry jones get kind of pissed at mario pino after this race because of that big move on the back stretch?
Yes, he moved too soon.
and they had issues
What is he saying at 3:41-3:42?
street sense in deep water
Hope Curlin enjoyed this win. He got beat by a filly in the Belmont. Rags to Riches ran her heart out to beat him.
No shame in finishing second to the brilliant Rags to Riches
no clue "pliochippus"......
Curlin is BAD FAST
borel should went inside rail @ 5:23...arrggghhhh!
bad horse.......enough said
Whats up with the elevator music? Oh you weird English people.
I hit this winner hard, loved him before the derby. Put big, big, bucks on him and he did not fail me . Still betting his offspring
bad as in good...like i said, bad horse

@@WellArmed3332 curlin choked to a girl
