So you keep talking about avoiding sequential or same numbers at the third octet if the first two octets are the same .... BUT SAME AS WHAT????? In other words, if someoone offers a backlink at a specific page, I look up their domain in an IP finder to get the IP. But when you say "make sure the C class is different" .... different from WHAT????? I'm just looking at one url here! What am I missing?
This means the same as other sites that link to you. If you get a link from 40.80.70.90 (random IP) and then you have another link from 40.80.71.whatever, that is a problem because they are using sequential IPs. Or if it's the same. The same AS OTHER SITES THAT LINK TO YOU.
I think you need to listen to the video more carefully. At the beginning he mentioned that this applies if you get only 1 backlink, IP addresses don't matter. IP Addresses matter when you get multiple backlinks as you should check that they dont have the same C class.

Thank you for listening!
hey grumpy, Are IPv6 IP addresses relevant from SEO perspective?
IP addresses matter because you want to make sure you are not getting links from sites on the same IP address. That's usually unhelpful.
