Trump rally shooting: "One in a million shot" killed Thomas Crooks, USSS claims | LiveNOW from FOX

  • A US Secret Service counter sniper took the shot that killed Thomas Matthew Crooks despite only being able to see his scope and the top of his eye and forehead due to the slant of the roof, officials told FOX News late Friday.
Crooks opened fire on former President Donald Trump at his July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, striking Trump in the ear, wounding two other people and killing a former fire chief in the crowd.
The Wall Street Journal reports Crooks was able to fly a drone over the Butler Farm Show grounds shortly before former president Trump was set to speak there.
Donald Trump’s campaign reportedly wanted to hold the rally at Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport but had to change the site to the Butler Farm Show grounds, due to a scheduling conflict.
On Saturday, July 13, Crooks climbed onto a building during Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and opened fire with a semiautomatic rifle, authorities said.
He killed a 50-year-old father of two named Corey Comperatore, critically wounded David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, according to authorities. He struck the former president in his right ear.
Secret Service counter-snipers "neutralized" Crooks at the scene, authorities said. Images show him lying dead on a rooftop less than 150 yards from where Trump had been speaking.

So the shot that Crooks took at 150yds while also remaining as concealed as possible was a shot that “the average hunter” could accomplish but the shot from the expertly trained USSS sniper at the same distance without having the problem of being concealed was a “one in a million “ shot? Damn this is getting more ridiculous by the day. 🤔

Motive is absolutely irrelevant. Two questions: 1. Why was President Trump allowed to take the stage when a known threat was unresolved? 2. Why was President Trump allowed to remain on stage as the threat was updated and remained unresolved? These two questions must be answered completely and promptly. It would be prudent to halt Campaign Activity until there two questions are answered. The US Secret Service should be stood down until they answer these two questions. In my opinion allowing President Trump to take the stage while the known threat was unresolved was a Criminal Offense. Investigators need laser focus on these two questions.

ALL SEVEN in a 2-inch target dot, with a rifle that most would say "won't hit the broad side of a barn". Of course, those people have not seen MINE in action 🙂

The factory trigger was the worst I ever felt (like it had sand in it), but I'm about halfway done with that, AND added a trigger shoe, which combined made it "not bad".
It's favorite ammo? The Hornady Superformance Match 5.56 75 gr. HPBT. I've done three-shot groups around .875" with it. And this IS all from a prone bench on bipod, though the bench (and I) can have enough "jiggle" to explain the spread in the original 7-shot group I referred to, for example. The reticle center point (LPVO 1-6x) was EASILY moving the +/- 1" I was getting on target, not to mention I'm blind as a bat (I use +4.00 readers now with scopes), so the RIFLE could do even better in a sled.
But it's as you say: It's not one of the old Minis, AND maybe I just got a good one on top of that. MAYBE some of the really high-end stuff is consistent unit-to-unit, but on the lower end, every one can be a little different... though an MSRP of $1379 on the 5888 now is hardly "low-end" (traded two derringers and $100 for mine, brand-new! : )

I'm American and I'm stating this. The schools snd textbooks intentionally lie and teach Americans that we opened our doors to take in the "poor and hungry" and that they came for cheaper, abundant land, but the fact is most of Europe were getting rid of their mentally ill and violent citizens by dumping them over here. We were a penal colony that grew, like Australia.

It was NOT a "one in a million" shot. It was at worst a 50/50 shot for an amateur and a dead on 100% kill for a qualified, seasoned sniper. The distance was approximately 550 feet for the SECOND and further away sniper team to take the shot (NOT the sniper team seen behind Trump). MOA (minute of angle) POI (point of impact) at 200 yards is pretty much a cake walk shot at the Butler venue and within the confines of a target that is essentially stationary and considering the overall locations and atmospheric conditions at the time the neutralizing shot was taken. Anything less is fake news from media that fails to properly do their homework/research on matters they know zero about. The media is just another worst enemy of We The People.

I mean, it is odd, but I would assume the reasoning is that the health hazard of leaving a bunch of human blood and brain matter everywhere was deemed more significant than was the tiny amount of pertinent evidence that could be gleaned from it. It's not like they needed to maintain the bloodstain to know where he died; that was already well documented and photographed. They didn't need the blood as evidence of who was the culprit/ who left the bloodstain, because they had the whole corpse there. This isn't like they were trying to figure out who *fled* from a crime scene, where all they have to work with is the fingerprints and blood drops and shed hairs and stuff. They have this guy on camera sneaking into position, and they recovered his corpse from where he was neutralized.
What information do you think the bloodstain might have revealed, that would justify leaving it there on the roof after already photographing and charting the scene, and potentially taking samples from the blood?

Bryan Lleans said the top of his head from the eyes up. That's a non-moving target about 5" high, 8" wide, at 130 yds. That's not 1 in a million. With a scope and without a bipod or rest, even a casual rifle shooter can hit that at least 1 in 10 times, not 1 in a million. Highly trained, well equipped USSS sniper can probably hit that 2 out of 3 times, maybe 3 out of 4 times.

Even if everyone agrees on the failure of Secret Service many questions remains unanswered, where the Secret Service boss is just dodging & ducking all questions. For example, did Crooks use a 5 foot ladder or not, and if so, where? Why didn't the police/Secret Service have access to any ladder?
Did 2, 3, 5, 7 of the 7-8 shots heard (3+4 or 5 shots) come from Crooks? Secret Service's snipers only need 1 shot so maybe the 4-5 last shots didn't come from Secret Service? Director Cheatle didn't even know how many shell casings there were from Crooks rifle.
Why only 22 (out of more than 8000 employees) - whereof an undisclosed amount of temporary/inexperienced agents - from Secret Service at an event with ten thousands of participants, protecting the person who lives under the probably biggest threat in the world? Why don't director Cheatle want to reveal that there were 22 agents and why did she repeatedly claim that there was enough people to protect Trump?
Especially strange considering the extended threat to Trump from Iran (where Biden let thousands of illegal Iranians into US thru the Mexican border).
Was Butler, Pa. commissioner truthful when he claimed that USSS lied and that all of the police only were there for traffic duty?
Why was Trump denied requests for more security, and who denied this? Why didn't FBI add resources?
Whatabout the Democrats who wanted to take away Trump's Secret Service protection completely, just weeks before the assassination attempt?
Why were Secret Service and the police on different radio frequencies? Is that standard, and if so why?
Why wasn't the radio communication recorded at the event? Director Cheatle says it's recorded otherwise.
Secret Service knew about the threat more than 1 hour before Crooks started shooting. Why did Secret Service let Trump speak in spite of that they knew about Crooks even before Trump went on the stage?
Why wasn't Crooks investigated by USSS when he was considered to be a suspicious subject (not even at 5:30 or 5:52)?
Seems like Secret Service had Crooks in the crosshairs already 19 minutes before Crooks started shooting. Why did the Secret Service's snipers have their weapons directed towards Crooks for so long (19 minutes) without shooting? Why did they let Trump continue to speak?
Why were there no counter sniper team in the water tower (most elevated position)?
When was the last sweep of the roof where Crooks was shooting from, and the area around it?
Why did Secret Service let Crooks run a drone over the area (even more than 1 time)? Why didn't USSS have any drones (or chopper)?
Why did the police have to tear down the fence and drive thru a gate to be able to get to the building where Crooks was on the roof?
When & why did Thomas Crooks father call the police, worried about what his son would do, how did that conversation go and did USSS search for this info?
Who approved the security plan? Who was the site command/site supervisor? Seems like there was a planning problem, a coordination problem and a supervision problem.
Exactly who signed off on the security plan? Where's the accountability? Nobody has been disciplined and everybody who failed their mission are still active and can continue to put presidents and others at risk for another 60 days or more, during a presidential campaign. Nobody has been fired or even suspended.
Why was 'The Beast' not parked immediately adjacent to the stage (with a secure distance to the public) to facilitate a fast exit for Trump?
Why did the USSS boss Kimberly Cheatle (one of many Trump-haters & Jill Biden's favorite) lie about the slope on the building, and about who were in the building ('local police') with Crooks on the roof. Director Cheatle had no answers during the hearing 9 days after the assassination attempt. Director Cheatle knew just about nothing, not even that it was 130-140 yards between Crooks & Trump. Transparency from USSS is close to none.
