Thanks for posting, it's always great. Every time I watch your videos I think of Nick the Frontiersman. Reminds me of the Lewis and Clark expedition except you're in Canada.
Thanks very much. It is always wonderful to paddle the rivers of the Rocky Mountains. I would have loved to be an early explorer!! I base many of my trips on the travels of David Thompson.
Fast River!! wow/ glad you could get around the rapids, they look Rough. great time on the river, beautiful forest and mountain views thanks for sharing
It's a great part of Jasper National Park, and a pleasure to canoe there. I had hoped to make it further up-river for this trip, but was unable to. That is where the most spectacular scenery would have been, but this was still a great trip. It made for an exciting ride. Thanks very much Thorn.
Thank you for sharing due to modern technology. I lived in Jasper in the late 70's to mid 80's and we spend lots of paddling the rivers and lakes in that stunning park. Still to this day, my favorite terrain for water travel.
Jasper is great for paddling!! The Athabasca is a fantastic canoeing river, and parts of the Sunwapta are good for an open canoe. I wish I could go there every weekend. Thanks for watching, take care.
What a beautiful stretch of the river …. stunning. I love the clips of the rapids you took Nick … very cool. I can only imagine what it must be like to experience a view like that … plus the sounds and the smell of those evergreens. Awesome nature. Thanks for sharing with us.
Yeah it's a beauty of a river. It was an impressive rapid to stand beside. A lot of power rushing past and over the boulder drop. It was a very nice stretch to paddle... it runs along the highway, but the intrusions were few and far between. Thanks for watching Robbie, take care my friend.
paddle warrior :), nice views, like those side creeks that join in, some rock breakers there, thanks for sharing the trip, love that red in front with the white paddle, take care.
Yeah it was less footage than usual... an unplanned youtube video. I didn't get out much this past year, so I figured I'd slap something together. It was indeed a nice run. Slow class I in the first half, portage around the big rapid, and class II towards to the end. Thanks for checking it out Lance.
Yeah it is definitely a great part of Jasper to be canoeing. Hopefully there will be more trips this coming summer. Thanks for checking it out, take care. I'm looking forward to more of your journeys!
Good to see a video from the legend. Hope your doing good buddy. We’ll have to get you out on a hike this year, matty and I have some plan for this year and maybe once we get the days/months nailed down I’ll text you a list and maybe one of them will line up with your schedule.😊
Hey Bo, I'm doing good and hope you are doing well too. I'll be pretty busy with canoe trips I need to get done and likely won't be able to do much backpacking. But yeah we can see what dates may line up.
Even in lower water, that would be a portage for me. It would be much more than I could handle. Definitely don't want to wreck the ME. Thanks for checking it out, take care.
What a great trip! Thanks again, Nick. I always feel more peaceful after viewing one of your trips.
Thanks very much Ron. I'm glad to hear it... it's much appreciated. Take care.

One heck of a ride. Good fishing when it settles down. Nice video.
The Sunwapta is an impressive river. Thanks for watching Douglas.

Your teasing us ….. Good job. Thanks Nick 👍🇨🇦
Yeah sorry, maybe a little tease. Hopefully more trips to come this summer. Thanks, take care.
paddle warrior :), nice views, like those side creeks that join in, some rock breakers there, thanks for sharing the trip, love that red in front with the white paddle, take care.
Thanks very much. Yes it is a beautiful section of Jasper, with many small side creeks joining the river. Definitely a nice place to paddle a canoe.
Thanks for sharing, Nick.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching Dave.
Only 8 minutes? You’re missing out on paddle ASMR. Great run thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the virtual trip Nick . Would love to do it someday
Hey it's my pleasure. Thanks for taking the time. Take care.
I know I say it almost every time, but I'd be so busy taking in that scenery I'd never get anywhere. Brilliant as always, even if it is 'old footage'
Thanks so much. Yeah it is a pleasure to paddle in these landscapes. It never gets old. Thanks for taking the time.
Good video Nick, exciting section after the potage.
Thanks so much. It picked up some after the portage and was a nice day on the water. Take care guys.
Awesome video, good to see you canoeing again!
Hey thanks very much Udo. I hope to get out much more this summer. Take care.
Nick, may not be a "Not a proper trip video" but it still was a beautiful ride!
Cheers!

I'm looking forward to more of your journeys!
Good to see you back
Thanks Douglas.
Thank you Nick
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
😅 I saw the upload and thought this guy is crazy going out in the winter. Thank for sharing
Same here 😂
😃Would have been "white" water, but very stiff and no rapids. Lots of exercise to get 20km, using ski poles instead of paddles.
Haha, no winter canoeing from this guy! Hopefully more this summer, last year was not so good. Thanks Perry, I hope all is well. Take care.

Good call on the potage, dont want to wreck the old ME
Even in lower water, that would be a portage for me. It would be much more than I could handle. Definitely don't want to wreck the ME. Thanks for checking it out, take care.
Welcome back
Thanks very much Ian. Take care.
You were flying down that stretch, cool run. I'm guessing 8-9mph?
I'm not sure about the speed, but yeah some of the narrow sections were quite fast. Thanks BD, take care.
Was that a Millbrook ME?
Mad River ME, 1988.
