    Girl you are a girl after my own heart I hate when glitter gets all over the place. You find glitter even after winter has long gone. Can't wait to try this method. You rock.

    These are absolutely beautiful. I have not really been interested in mandala and thought that was all the dotting kind of art was for. you show how it can be used in all kinds of other ways. I am totally gonna get some stuff and try this! Thank you for showing me another creative outlet that I think i will like. Currently I do quilling. I've been doing that for 5 months and I even thought of ways to mix quilling with some dotting in the same art piece. Thanks again for sharing this!

    • @TheDottingCenter
      @TheDottingCenter  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve always wanted to try quilling! I’ve done something similar as a craft with my kids but it would be fun to do the real thing. Dotting and quilling could get together and make art babies don’t you think? Dot quilling? Please figure it out and let me know! ❤️

    Ok, I see that this is old, but it is my FAVORITE video but, Rachel, please, this artform is not nearly as easy as you make it seem. But I'll keep at it and see if I can do anything that looks like an adult created it. Have a slew of clear ornaments I wanted to do, but I'm a little too embarrassed at my lack of finesse so far. Need a miracle. Dotting Prayers Welcome!! 😂

    • @TheDottingCenter
      @TheDottingCenter  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      😂 I’m so glad you like this one! I get it when you say it’s not as easy as it seems. I’d been painting with bottles for a few years when I did that video. It gets easier with practice I promise! 💕

    Love these. I too have a love/ hate relationship with glitter. Love the look and sparkle but know it is bad for the environment and people. At least this project, the glitter is encapsulated. Just wear a mask...best of both worlds.

      Dotting isn’t like traditional painting where you need to have super specialized knowledge of a million things. I believe anyone can dot paint. I know you’ll love it 😊

    I’m watching you all over again. I did try making the ornaments last year and the glitter part was fairly easy. But when it comes to dotting, I found that there is a lot of practice involved. Practice makes perfect! I hope! I’m going to do this again this year.. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!!!

    I've been making the better with the minwax for a couple of years, but the way you mixed the glitters and did hombre shades, etc is gorgeous. I just love the addition of the swirls and dots it takes them from being beautiful to incredibly high-end, gorgeous ornaments anyone would love to have. I can't wait to try these!

    I made these a couple years ago and I used white gesso with a nail dotting tool, and I was able to paint with regular acrylic on top of that when I wanted colors. I also used acrylic paint pens for my words and they all seem to be holding up still. I'll try the folk art brand this time too.

    I am pleased that you have made the choice to avoid micro plastic glitter. Both the microbeads in things like my face scrub and the microfibers from my fleece pullover have been found in the largest & tiniest organisms all over the world, even in Antarctica!
    The good news is that you don't have to give up on glitter! The finest-looking glitter is still being produced by artisans in Europe who glaze glass with silver nitrate (which is how mirrors are made). The glass is then crushed into different standard grades of fineness. (I think only the bigger grains carry a risk of cutting oneself, but I prefer the really tiny fine-grade glitter anyway).
    The colors are so shiny & intense, it's far less messy, it even gets prettier as it ages because it develops a patina! I will never go back to plastic glitter!
    iirc, I got my glitter from Meyer Imports.

      Thanks for your comment! I haven't yet explored the earth friendly glitters but I've heard they're beautiful. Microplastics are such a nightmare, I just want to try to avoid them. Thanks for providing an alternative solution👍

    What lovely presents a set of six different hand decorated baubles would be. Thank you, really inspiring! And Happy Thanksgiving 2020 from England! :)

    Stunning... so when dry you wipe off chalk paint. Your good at this. I have never even did dotting. Do you think the dimensional paint would work ? Thanks for inspiration..hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙

    These are beautiful! Was wondering if you could use Modge Podge as the varnish?

      I bet you could. I've never tried it, but I'm sure it would work.😊

      I tried midge Padgett and it didn’t work as well. Colors came out light and some didn’t dry all the way. So I got the minwax and it is beautiful. Bright colors

    These are so beautiful! Definitely a project for next year. I never knew Arteza made glitter! I just bought a set of Arteza 60 acrylic paints and love them! You're right about the boxes they come in being good storage. I think on my list of purchases for the new year will be Arteza glitter and a paint application kit from The Dotting Center. Love your videos- Merry Christmas!

      That Arteza set of 60 paints is so decadent isn’t it? It’s my only full set of paints and I love how thick and shiny the paint is! Happy Holidays! 🎄

    These are so elegantly beautiful! Does the chalk marker wipe off once the paint is dry?
