Would like to hear more ambient with less reverb.

Fantastic playing. Are you just playing with the pentatonic scales there. Sounded amazing. Cheers

    Hello Jordan
Congratulations on your video and performance ..
I am a saxophonist musician and live in Brazil and I really liked the sound of the mouthpiece "Jordan Shalhoup's custom mouthpiece # 1
Does this model have an opening number? .. I think I need a less open one, maybe number 7 or 71/2 ... do you have the complete characteristics of the mouthpiece available?
...I am used to playing with a Select Jazz 7M ... do you think the number 7 Syos and the select Jazz 7M are equivalent?
    Thanks

Nice playing. What tip openings are you playing and what type of reeds as they are working well for you.

You shouldn’t test mouthpieces with any effects. It doesn’t give the true sound of the mouthpiece. I could never understand why people give a mouthpiece test using effects. It doesn’t help

Thanks for this sample video. I like the reverb since most of the time we play with it. I'm going to try the Syros mp's. Also, really great chops! 👍🎷

May I ask if what’s the best microphone for saxophone? XLR or the USB one?

    • @Syosmusic
      @Syosmusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Eriole, XLR mics tend to be a step up from USB, with more adjustability and capability. On the other hand, USB mics are more convenient to use and are cheaper, while most often using the same type of condensers as XLRs. Ultimately this is down to personal preferences, and affordability!

Hey Jordan did you make the backing track?

The green mouthpiece sounds a bit like the d'addario select jazz

Did you have to buy all of them to test?

Wow Jordan! I love how many creative ideas you are pulling out of those pentatonic riffs. I had to slow it down and work out what you're doing and it's a terrific learning experience! You manage to keep it really interesting and musical!

Sorry mate, maybe you should move around less and practice more...

It’s too bad you’d rather put someone down in your criticism than you would try and help that person move towards a higher understanding of the art form. Hope you feel fulfilled.

Sounds like someone who is angry because they think the world owes them something because they practiced. I had a little of that in yrs 10 to 20. The next 20 i just worked harder and heard such great playing that there is no room for judgement. If you are Chris Potter please disregard and accept my apology.
