    I remember as a kid in the 70s going with my parents from Lisbon to Nice, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, France and Belgium in an old Peugeot 204 and latter a 305 with only a map. That's what your missing, a paper map. You had the car but not the mindset.

      I'm sorry you feel that way. For me the focus is on the experience and the company, not in any way the means you use to get around (being the car, navigation, etc.). I hope everyone feels urged to do a Roadtrip and make valuable memories, even if it's in a Daihatsu Charade. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it despite the sat nav ordeal 😉

    Very nice video! Great car (87?), stunning scenery, and excellent story and editing! Are you a video pro? I will be doing something similar in a few months- driving my 87 Carerra across the US, from California to Florida. Looking forward to your next video!

      WOW, that sounds like an epic trip! Sounds absolutely epic 🤩 Ours is an '84 by the way.

    Great video, awesome footage, great editing and legendary car... Bravo ! As a French neighbor, I dream of doing this roadtrip too (and if possible, in a 911 3.2L). Do you by any chance share your roadmap and stops? Well, thanks for sharing, your episodes are amazing!

      Hi Pierre, I promised that I would add all the mountain passes to the descriptions but I haven't gotten around to it yet unfortunately. Thanks for the reminder though 😄 Thanks for watching as well! Hope you get to do this trip soon, even better if it's in a 3.2!

    Did Belgium used to have a yellow headlights law like France? It really suits that 911!

    • @Retroschaft
      @Retroschaft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On this car they were retrofitted, but I do think it was allowed back in the day to sell new cars with yellow headlights. I'm not 100% sure what the details on this are but it sure looks really nice on the 911!

    Awesome video. I just built a '89 Carrera 3.2 to do the same sort of touring in the US. I'm breaking it in right now and making sure things are OK, but if I have half the fun you had I'll be going good. Your car, the filming, and the landscapes are all beautiful.

      Thank you, that means a lot! We car enthusiasts are always eager to say "this is the stuff what dreams are made of" but I feel like we have a tendency of putting a goal in front of us, working towards it and achieve our actual dreams. Having a passion is the greatest gift we can ever have. Go make that trip, and have the most fun possible!

    260.000 Km on a well maintained classic 911 is basically delivery milage. Just joking, i would trust that thing too!

    This is awesome. I did a roadtrip across North America with my dad some years ago and the memories are some of my best. We didn't have a Porsche for that trip (only a lowly MINI Cooper), but it's the experience and memories that count. I've driven on some of the same roads you have, though, while in Europe for work. Beautiful. Thanks for the video!

    • @Retroschaft
      @Retroschaft  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much! In the last episode at the end I get to the fact that you don't need a fancy car to make a trip like this and make fantastic memories. Wether it's a shitbox, a car you care about or a daily driver, you'll have fun driving nonetheless and the memories are made with the people you're with. Thanks for sharing your story and thanks for watching 😊

      Hi Christopher, that's nice to hear! At the end of the last episode I mention how you don't need a 911 to do this, you can do it with any car and any region at your disposal. Just enjoy the company! Take care

    Wich time during the year did you go, because it is not very busy it seems.

      We went from Wednesday to Sunday at the end of July. It was fairly busy at times but sometimes we got lucky! It never felt too crowded, always a nice atmosphere. Usually most people pass through Switzerland to go to Italy (their loss ;) )

    Great car, but not good to run the front spoiler and not a rear one. You either need both or none.
