My D&D room, and collection.

- Out of Savannah, Georgia... I built this D&D Room as my love letter to the hobby. Having never touched wood in my life (huhuhuuuu), I taught myself woodworking to build the table with embedded 60" TV, just how I wanted it. And I've decorated it and laid everything out to be something of a D&D paradise. I have every 5e book there is, and mostly am busy collecting 1e and 2e modules.
Enjoy.
David (dj) Johnson, VES
This should be a DnD enthusiasts tour destination this is fascinating and impressive. WOW watched a second time.
If you find yourself in Savannah... come on over! We'll set up a 1 shot for you!
Very cool set up
@@undertone_dj savannah georgia? the setting for telltale games the walking dead?😭😱
@@chrisriveraaa8668 Yes Sir it is! Moved out here from LA about 6 years ago. It's really a wonderful city. Tons of fun and stunningly beautiful.
Please invert the position of the DM to be facing the door! In feng shuei its the position of power, so that you don't have that primal instict that something can come from behind and kill you, or your players read your notes when entering the room which is much worse.
I agree with this guy
That would be ideal yes. But The room is a bit cramped, and one can't get up and down from the table from the back position... the side people trap you in, and I need to, fairly often... run to the garage for a new mini or terrain bit.
Plus you can't see when a disgruntled player comes at you for a back attack ... always face the entrance!
Duuuude... amazing! I wish I was in your group. Wow!
We have an open game on Saturdays, come on over!
OMG ... woooowwww .. I am sooo envious!! Dopest game room ever!
Thanks man!!!
I just started playing D&D about 2 months ago and after 1 session I was hooked. So far I have the adult red, Blue, black, and white dragons along with my character. 😅
Awesome! It's addictive! Keep it up!
Wow! Not only is the collection impressive, your commitment to keeping things tiny is outstanding.
Hahahah, thanksman!!!
dude! this is insane! wish I had a game room like this, though our dining room table does fine lol
Nothing fancy is necessary for a killer game. But it is quite nice in setting the tone!
You are living my dream! Where were you able to get all of the books and minis from?
About a third of the books were from my high school days. I've since started collecting on ebay and the RPG Auctions facebook group!
A man after my own heart! This is a video that needs to be seen!
Yaaassss!!!
This is seriosuly awesome!!
Thanks No Plan!!
Amazing room! Wonderful collection! Just wondering if the minis get dusty being out like that...
Thanks Steve! I'm sure they are getting dusty, but I haven't noticed it yet.
Wow this is absolutely incredible. As a younger dnd fan, this is like the dream. Awesome collection man
Johnson))) Everything looks great ...
Thanks man!!
Best regards from the Chinese trpg player, thx for your selfless sharing the desk design prints!
Get those box sets off of the bottom shelf! Basements can flood.
Very true! It does in fact flood a bit into the adjacent room.
🤩 wow, what a setup !
Thanks Paul!!
Damn man that’s amazing. Would give anything to one shot with you guys!
Come on over man! Savannah is a killer place to weekend! If you do, I'll setup a one shot for you!
Awesome!
Thanks Anchor!
Very impressive.
Thanks Jon!
Wow, my jaw hit the floor. If I'm ever in Savanah would love to do a one shot.
Come on over!
This is so good!! Soon I’m gonna have my room set up like that and I am taking notes! 😎
Thanks man! It's been a labor of love!
How did you set up the Voice Changer? what programs are you using? If you don't mind. It is just a fantastic idea and i need to steal it.
I've just uploaded the first of a two part series showing how that works, and how to set it up!
th-cam.com/video/RxlYuK8IlhU/w-d-xo.html
I'VE SEEN IT!
My eyes popped out
Thanks Lomotpk!
Thank you for sharing, just needs a set of armor 😊
Ooooo, why yes I do!
Your organization is so on point on the book shelf it hurts like holy shit dude
Yaaasssss!!!! It was important to me to find a way to balance the book spines, but really showcase the cover art of what I could given the space!
I think one design element that really does it favors... the Leather shield , surrounded by the two paintings, gives an important eye rest and centerpiece... whereas the tons of minis and books can get chaotic.
Nice Room!
Can you point me in the direction of that voice changing set up!!
Making a how to video right now! Stay tuned!!
where the fuck did you took that money?
I took all the money, and hid it under a dragons treasure!
Musta made someone on Ebay rich
There's probably a few hundred in Etsy purchases here. The weapons, the dice coasters. Some of the minis. The big spend was really the cost of wood. And the books themselves... from the "RPG Auctions" group mostly, and some from ebay. The minis have probably added up in cost too, but I don't want to think about that. ;)
Im jealous of your room, its truly awesome
Come on over and play! We have an open game on Sat afternoons! Come weekend in Savannah!
Your collection is incredibly cool!
Thanks Newt!
where did you get monster name plates? and if you made please share they are awesome.
I 3D Designed them myself, and have all the files... I'd be happy to share them. Maybe I should MAke a Patreon or something... so I can distribute files like this easier.
DM me your email address, and I'll get you a link to the files!
Hey thanks for the tour my friend!
My pleasure! Come visit savannah, and see it / play in person!
nice room
Thanks Peter!!
Can I hire you as a dm
no, but you can be my player for free!
Wow, last time I played was in 1981 - 83 while in the army, just recently started collecting some D&D stuff
Awesome! I took a good 20 year hiatus, and only got back into it about 7 years, and I'm just addicted. Playing 5 games a week currently!!!
I wish I had joined a group as a kid, but in the UK it wasn't that popular, and certainly not or my younger age group. Looks like a nice setup.
Thanks man! It's been a labor of love for sure!!!
Nice 💯
Thanks elGrif!
:)
:)
Need to take some to clean your figures and the mic effects are a nice touch but since you are like 2 feet from everyone, doesn't really work since both voices are in play together and gets muffled.
In the video, my phone is like 6" from my voice... so you're getting more voice than speakers, but the effect is pretty great when one is sitting in the room.
Any suggestions for figure cleaning process? They are out collecting dust, so you're probably not wrong that they could use a cleaning. How do you clean yours?
I wish my DM was this committed 😫 this is amazing. I love the mic effects, the table, everything!
Thanks ianviviTV!!
voice thing is cool
That's one of the most fun bits about playing here! I love when I get to use it!
💪
HINAN!!!
Wow bro! Ridiculous! Your players are lucky!
It really is a blast to play in! I've got two in person games a week, and 3 more that are online.
Very cool!
Thanks Tim! Glad you enjoyed! It's been a delight to build and play in!
Damn that is sweet. Wish I could find a group in southeast Wisconsin to play with
Start a facebook group for the area to coordinate players, and get your local game store on board! We have an awesome D&D Community here in Savannah, and most of it is organized through our facebook group!
.... I would not miss sessions there
Come on over! If you find yourself vacationing in Savannah (and you should, it's amazing here)... stop in on our open Saturday game!
I do my best not. It's even more impressive in person
What the f###! That must be an amazing cave to play D&D
It really is a delight to play in here!
I'm actually curious about that soundboard setup of yours.
I'll have another video soon showing that off! Stay Tuned!
I'd love to see more about the table! you said you built it? could you share the design? :D
Yupyup, I made a whole video on the table build. Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/YnpePDjPAsg/w-d-xo.html
The character sheets on the seilling its such a good ideia that im gonna stole it
Hell yeah! Get a "Deceased" stamp! Makes it brutal when you kill their characters off!
This is fucking legendary!!
Hell yeah! It's a joy to play in here!
Now that’s a group I wish was here in Arizona to join up with 😮
Well if you ever find yourself in Savannah... stop by!
Now that's a nice Coronavirus in the center!😁
The table is double vaxed!
Love the sconce as you enter the room. Where did you get it?
Got it in an antique store here in Savannah.
Is that a Launchpad? If not, what board do you use. Was looking to add one to my set up.
yupyup, Novation Launchpad X connected to Ableton Live.
@@undertone_dj thanks for the reply
What is that soundboard and where can I get it?
It's a "Novation Launchpad X". You can get it on Amazon for about $170
Where did you get the cloth maps?
geekifyinc.com/
They will print cloth maps. 46" in one dimension (which I use for the vertical axis), then as long as you want in the other. They will do "ragged edged" or straight... I like the look of ragged. You can just google the maps online and send them the file... or hit me up for the files and I'll send them over. The contact page on my company website undertonefx.com will reach me.
Yeah but do you run fun games is the real question. I played at a house like yours once and the DM was one of the worst I ever had. Boredom baby!! Yet I played a theater of the mind with a few tokens and with an awesome Dm and party it was one of the most fun games I’ve played in
You would have to ask my players that. But I've had a player tell me it's the best game he's ever been in, in his life. Here's that game:
th-cam.com/video/5y0slTlI_Uc/w-d-xo.html
One of my favorites I've run is my "Curse of Randy Macho Man Strahd" one shot. All monster attacks reskinned to be wrestling moves.
th-cam.com/video/M3Qst6QwnQ8/w-d-xo.html
Another favorite is the Wendys themed "Feast of Legends" game.
th-cam.com/video/LZCDzbdDb7o/w-d-xo.html
You be the judge!
@@undertone_dj awesome man I will check it out thanks. And your room is epic however.
DJ runs the FUNEST games
@@jaszzmine18 Thanks Jaz! You're one of my favorite players!
This is amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Gillette!
Great table and the top dragonlance and elmore !
Thanks man!
Pretty sweet. Im slowly getting my dnd room set up.
Do eet! It's a pleasure to play in a space that's crafted just for this!
❤❤❤❤
That deceased stamp is cold as hell. I love it
100%. Makes player death pretty brutal. I'm running a vintage series now with the 1974 "White Box" rules... and boy is it deadly. 3d6 straight down the line for stats, in order (no swaps) and d6 for starting health. We had a fighting man start with 2 hp. We have a dead character nearly every session so far.
Bro… this is dedication so cool
Thanks A Dot! A lot of love has been put into this for sure!
That it’s just so cool
Thanks ArchiRava!!
Dope set up
Thanks man!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks Nolan!
sweet gamer room!
Thanks Jelly!
