@Greeling Avarice I don't really like helmet cams because my head tends to bobble around and I don't like the extra weight on my head, but it is getting very hot and sweaty with the chest cam this time of year so I will be doing some helmet cam videos very soon. Stay tuned! ;) I try to do a variety of camera angles but I obviously prefer the chest cam.
Helmet cams are bad. You fall on it, all that force directed to a very specfic point on the helmet. Equals issues. It's what happened to Michael Schumacher. Just be aware of the danger.
Hi again bike blogger. not sure if I told you. bought my first fixed gear bike last week!! love it!! also got new bull bars on my other hybrid road bike this week as well!! I am pumped to ride!! took the road bike for 25 miles the day I got it back with the new bars and wrapped grip. a great ride!! using my Fixie for rides to work.
That is a good trail since it connects the Shrewsbury MetroLink station with the River City Casino. You're right about cycling on the streets since people don't pay attention to what in the world they are doing. The Grant's trail is also about to be extended further from the Kirkwood trail head at Holmes and Leffingwell to downtown Kirkwood.
You just rode through the exact path I do my runs on. I was hoping I would see myself, but I must have been doing something else at the time you recorded this! Good stuff though.
Hi BikeBlogger. There's nothing like that in my neck of the woods over here in the UK. I agree with you about it being good for getting to, and maintaining, a good speed. I'm a tad envious.
I commute on a road that's 50mpr using lane control. It's just as safe as long as your in the middle of lane. The more in the middle of the lane you are, the sooner they can see you and can change lanes. Bike path are nice if there not a lot of intersection. Protected bike lanes in the city is just too much conflict with left turning cars and right turning ones. I just saw a video today where a left turning car took a left in front of the bikers path and he ran straight into it.
I grew up in st Louis and still live in the fenton area. Just started to get back into riding. Have you rode grants yet. Who also in your opinion in the area does good bike fitting? I have a specialized disc brake hard rock and just bought a old steel lugged frame bikes and just about done making it a single speed. I want it to be fitted to me. I heard Mikes in the central west end is good?
+mzondi1970 Hi mzondi1970. I plan to ride Grant's Trail in the near future. I've been wanting to do it for a while. I have only ridden a short section of it back when it was first being built. My local bike shop is Maplewood Bicycle and I recommend them because they've always been nice to me. I have yet to visit Mikes Bikes but I hear they are good too.
You need a a helmet cam. Just view alone doesn't seem like it's enough for the full experience. I know it's a little extra work but I'd love to see from your pov.
My husband & I have started cycling to get in shape.
We even pull our 2 year old with a bike trailer.
We love your channel.
Thanks for another great video bikeblogger! I am new to road cycling and your videos are informative and inspirational. Keep it up.

BikeBlogger I really enjoy the chest cam the most of all of em!

Michael Thompson I was going to mention that. It seems like having something on your helmet defeats the purpose of it protecting your head.

BARNTRIKEMAN Bike infrastructure is very limited in my area, but I try to show off what we got. :)

Since the bridge you crossed in this video has no name I propose we call it "Bike Blogger Bridge".
the footage seems way shaky what are u using for the chest?

sorry if you have answered this many times, but how do you do your audio?
jjsmitty7 I use a simple external mic, and then I do some post processing work to clean up everything else.
BikeBlogger I assume you are not recording to the gopro, are you using an iphone or some other device to record the audio?
jjsmitty7 Nope, I use a body mic connected to the gopro with the adapter cable.
Do you use clipped pedals or not?
Nick I use clipless pedals, Nick. ;) I use these here th-cam.com/video/-hh5ZqBhW4s/w-d-xo.html
Loughborough is pronounced 'luff-buhruh' or 'luff-bruh'. Great video mate.
It is a river...
If you were to pronounce it with an original french pronunciation, you would say "day pear" and not "deh pear"
awesome24712 Or, river despair in the US state of misery LOL Thanks for the correction though!
+BikeBlogger which means "of the fathers"
