Hugo Friedhofer composed the musical score for this film. Eight years earlier, Friedhofer was on the music staff at Warner Bros and was assigned to orchestrate Erich Wolfgang Korngold's score for ''The Adventures of Robin Hood,'' considered by many film music experts as Hollywood's best score ever. Also in a side note, Friedhofer won the Best Score category in 1946 (the same year ''The Bandit of Sherwood Forest'' came out) for his magnificent Copland-esque score for ''The Best Years of Our Lives,''
