Even if he would do it this way he would lose in the long run. Playing 80/20 gives you a 1.18 multiplier, that’s a 2% house advantage which will always get you in the long run.

too small of a sample size, if you flip a quarter 10 times, it could land on heads 60% of the time, but if you flip it 5000 times you slowly approach closer and closer to 50%
Because 50% chance can still mean 8 losses in a row or more, each bet is independent of the other, a probability of 50% only applies to high numbers of rolls
