Great work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Im planning to build a sofa, I was wondering…I couldnt find any information online….can we varnish/stain the sofa frame? So the wood would be more protected and less likely to warping.
I got a question that has bugging me for years. I see people throw out old couches all the time. I always wondered if upholstery shop places take those in and redo them and sell them for a great profit? Just curious. I always thought there would be high profits doing that...And btw, what is your bread and butter in this type of business?
@@kyleb1984 I’ve never attempted to take old pieces, redo and resale because my clientele is high end and has designers work with them concerning styles and fabrics. IMO, I can earn more reupholstering than selling used reupholstered pieces. I tend to earn more reupholstering dining chair slip seats. If I could pick one piece to do only, it would be them.

I know of nothing to prevent warping. Personally, I use 5/4 poplar and fortify areas that get stress. Thanks for watching
