Lemme get controversial about the Em hate. What artist contributed as much to Hip-Hop becoming the #1 genre in the world? I'd say it was 80-90% Em and rappers he brought up (like 50). In the 80's I didn't want to hear anything but Classic/hard Rock and Metal... first Beastie Boys, then later on Eminem turned me onto Rap which led me to Cypress, Wu, Luda, etc. The man has paid more homage to the old school than any other.
