- I’ve noticed a couple of common mistakes from people who are playing career mode over the past year. Whether this is from posts on reddit, discord or youtube, seeing the same mistakes being made over and over has made me decide to make a video about some of the less known parts of the game mode.

Things i want in Career mode.
1. Request Funds
2. Start of at youth academy level (both manager and player)
3. Scout via specific stats.
4. Age take longer to start downgrading and starts with physical stats
5. Gain traits
6. Manager stats (composure, adaptability, etc)

Great suggestions. I think they can also add the following traits for players:
1. Big game experience: Can be included for existing world class players but earned for players that play well in key matches
2. Consistency: One example being Paul Pogba. He used to be in the high 80s 2-3 years back but showed that quality only on occasion IRL. Therefore, using him in fifa felt unrealistic by default.
I would like dynamic potential for ALL players... not only your team, I find career modes to be unrealistic after 2-4 seasons when there are 30 90+ players... best in the world isn't special then... maybe scrap potential or have it as a guideline but if for example foden be crap for 2 seasons and don't play... well looks like he's 78 rated in my career mode now
@@Lillen121swe yes! I also though of this early but what if any signing made irl get made in the middle of your season (unless your involved, so unless you buy a player or hes at your club)
Also regens for players who aren’t playing like R9, Cassias, Zidane etc, also have there kids come up through the academies ( like Kai Rooney or Ronaldo Jrj

Thing is with the objectives the domestic and continental objectives don’t improve anything for you because you could win the league and the cup but if you don’t sign 4 players from Asia your manager rating could be critical
I've literally rebuilt entire teams carrying them to b2b league titles, domestic cups and European championships but will get sacked for getting 3 game losing streak and ignoring the youth academy and the sign x amount of players from x continent
Yes. I won League One with Sheffield Wednesday, but i got fired because I didn’t sign 1 English player. Literally lost my job because I refused to comply with the boards racist policy. 😂

League 1 objective was automatic promotion and some other random goals I didn't meet

For me the transfer windows kill the experience of trying to stay realistic when you see teams buying 5 RBs or Bilbao signing non basque players.
League Rules and Team Rules need to added in my opinion.
I think a big change in career mode could the ability to learn traits aswell as losing them, things like Injury Prone, make someone learn Leadership or gaining Team Player over time.. remember back in FIFA 12 where if you created a player with crazy good stats he'll gain traits like Complete Striker/Midfielder/Defender? This should come up like today's terms saying "midfield maestro" to Modric, or "Clinical Finisher" to Lewa..
I personally find Composure a bad stat where the player is punished by playing youngsters.. maybe make it "team composure" instead of individual sharpness, or make the team morale impact composure in game as a big part in career mode. Things like playing derbies difference's between Home and Away.
It's crazy that FIFA 21 iirc to now you can't change Composure and Defensive Awareness when creating a player..
I'd like to play Manager Career more often; I have so much ideas in my head, but board challenges and youth academy makes me far from it.
Sometimes I wish I could play multiple seasons and tournaments in a system like the already modes like UCL, where you login in, pick your team and plat

I’ve been playing Career Mode for about 15+ years now and the only way I like to play is realistically, however, it is almost impossible with the way the game is, almost everything is unrealistic, broken, useless or not immersive.
I really like getting “older” players with traits to start and having the YA players coming off the bench or playing 2nd team ball. Or to increase growth fast have them have a great pre season and first month then loan them out. Their form helps them make a big jump once you loan them out.
They need to make career modes longer..15 years isn't enough...specially if you start from low leagues.. which is more fun..it can take you a while to build a sustainable team in top flight..
The problems I'm finding with career mode is that some of the settings I chose are reset every time I load up FIFA. Not to mention that when I set sliders to injury frequency and severity they're also reset in the same way. As for objectives 30 million profit after 1st transfer window for a team near bottom of league 1 or in league 2 in reality is completely impossible without financial takeovers.

I totally agree every lower League team finances hi and if you're harringate town annual league 2 and you only start off with 2 million how the hell are you supposed to end the season with 30 million EA you need to sort out your boards objectives because they are so unrealistic I always end up getting the sack at the end of the first season because I don't have 30 million in the bank this is getting as bad as Madden and that's saying something
I like the point about creating storylines for yourself. In my manager career I did a 2 year stint as the international manager for hungary and then went ahead and signed a hungarian player, with the idea that I got to know him in my international managing experience and wanted to bring him into the club. Things like that make the game more interesting even if it has to come from your own imagination rather than the game.

For finding regens:
They don't have to appear in the free agent list or the league where the original player was playing at the beginning. The regen is going to be either in the league where the original player has retired or in the free agent list, when the contract of the original player was running out. That's why my CR7 regen has been found in the colombian league. Don't ask me what CR7 was doing over there.
I think the only objectives I really can't stand are financial ones. Like how am I supposed to get a profit margin of 150 mil in one season and improve the squad? It's just not worth pursuing and I usually avoid playing clubs that have high priority on financial goals.
Annoys me to no end this one. First critical objective, sign crucial player in defence, midfield and forwards. Second critical objective, make a profit of £150m on player sales. I mean, how?!
The worst one is having to get to the round of 16 FA cup with a league two side. You always have to beat a top 3 premiere league team to get there. Boring and completely unrealistic.
@@j_m391 i think ea should make it like imagine a man utd career mode, if u win against Liverpool/Arsenal/City/Leeds, u 'make' an extra 50k-100k depending on how big the scoreline is/importance. With that, ea would have to adjust it so like the profit margins and other finer details make sense. and the extra u make is realistic for how good ur squad is.
For my career mode with Man U, I try to be as realistic as possible, if Real or Barcelona come in for a player like Lisandro Martinez or Antony, I accept the offer. My Youth Academy is filled with English and Welsh players, and we have one scout available for any other countries for 3 months at a time. It makes it much more interesting when you feel like you have to keep an eye on options at every position because another side like PSG, Bayern, or even Atleti may come in for an offer on a player.
the thing with the manager rating is that. if you complete domestic and continental objectives i dont get any manager rating. whilst if i dont complete the domestic objectives i lost manager rating,not only that but the domestic (especially continental) objectives are just way too far ahead from the teams actual ability. cuz on my longford save i managed to get to a conference league spot, and they expected me to go to quarter final,i got knocked out in qualifying round. same story with europa and CL same objective and even if i managed to do them then i would probarly not get any manager rating.
You need to change the bench players in training so their diamond stays green, learned that recently. Also the development is important because you can train players to how you want them to play. If you're selling a veteran player sell them before their overall goes down one level because value goes down as well.

I never understand those who start of a save and within the first transfer window or by the end of the first season have completely changed the entire squad - especially if they're playing at a big club with a large transfer budget. I get it's part of the fun to make signings and that but seeing multiple people do a Nottingham Forest esque squad overhaul, when many teams don't even need that much of a overhaul, so early in the mode....then asking for tips on who to sign. Does my head in.
i do a liverpool rebuild because that is happening but i only buy 3-5 players in the first transfer window

The objectives shouldn't matter as much as they do, because I didn't sign youth players I was sacked after taking cittadella to league champions and coppa italia and having a profit around £300mil
So I was doing a Sheffield Wednesday career mode and I bought Jamie Vardy for 3 mil which imo is quite realistic but that’s the case of a bigger player dropping leagues

Hey Geografifa! I'll recommend a save in the Scottish Premiership. Dunfermline Athletic held the first ever Scottish Football Title alongside Rangers, as they both were on the same points tally. They just got relegated from the SPFL Championship. They now play in SPFL League One, the third tier. I'd recommend doing a save with them.

When I start a career I always retire and older real faced player to be manager pick from the list of teams to manage but turn of the first transfer window that way u get to no Ur squad and what u need then eventually I try getting the regen from the player I retired I find it a lot more fun and rewarding instead of spending 100 million first transfer window ATM I'm at FC lorient with cavani haven't got he's re gen just yet but enjoying the save so far
Chat GPT has revived career mode a little for me
Whenever players come to me unhappy, I ask it to give an altercation between Player X and the manager with the outcome either being A) Player X leaves in frustration and i transfer list him, or B) they come to a conclusion
It’s also great for giving free agents/regens/youth players a backstory
ChatGPT has helped me, I got a new Player and Manager Career thanks to the ideas provided by it.
@@Gorevek I almost use it as an assistant manager sometimes😂 since it remembers everything you say, you can teach it your tactics and ask it how you think you should approach a certain game/formation, or give it certain stats and ask what to do with certain players lol
I signed some 38 year old striker in the championship he helped me get up to the prem called gomis.

Thing is sometimes I make a mistake eg signing a cheap player but it actually working a 78 rated LM did great as my other LM got injured do try and get keepers with ability having keepers 25+ will help keeping older keepers like Buffon or Gulasci to sit on the bench to help youngsters. do not try and get yourself sacked let yourself get in a bad run try to get out of it.
Hey! About that 95 70 squad. I have a create a club and I had a 84 rated cam and all like 72 rated other players, my team still struggled in league 1 and is struggling in the championship so yes It can be but mine is still hard and I sim most games
The top things that I want in career mode:
1. To be sacked by the board for not keeping clean sheets even though I’ve won the treble.
2. A negotiation cut scene that is the same for players from the Premier League and League Two
3. A cut scene for players leaving that is the same for every player
4. To be given a rating for my transfers which is completely out of context (F - for paying slightly more for a superstar, A - for getting a very bad player on a free).
5. To have players who have just been suspended or that are on long term injury complain about not being on a team.
6. To have negotiations where the agents or managers who don’t accept my original offer, but then accept an offer that is worse my original offer.
7. To have a training system and a development system which has little or no impact on the game.
8. To have every email that I have sent to me from the Board/Coaches start with “As you recall” when referring to something that happened 30 seconds ago.
Maybe if we could have a game where these things happened then people would be more happier. 😂
The training and development plans got big impact on the game
@@Ghost_2k Not really had 2 players with the same stats played them exactly the same amount of time in the same position and they had almost the same achievements in a season - one of them I had on no real development plan and no training, but they gained the same amount at the end of the season to their overall. It really doesn’t haven’t enough impact to the overall game that the time it takes up justifies.
@@parster2010 the training works to make a sub shine, with my bench striker and a few minutes he grow 8/9 ratings in a season and development plans work to change position

My mistake is that I always sign players straight to my youth academy instead of scouting leading to a full academy
For career mode to be good a career mode player needs to design the mode
I have a hard time knowing how many games a player should play depending his status, I don’t know how many game time I should allow to my prospect so I just loawn them to not disturb their potential.

One time I made a big career mode, 99 rated, but an exception, all my sliders where set to 0
I did career mode with valencia 😌 after 6 seasons i had a strong squad of youngsters and won fuck all 🔥✌️ then real players started retire and lmost all the good players are BOTS. felt depressing like im stuck in alternative timeline doing nothing but play fifa on repeat for eternity

what are the recommended difficulty in career mode guys? when im playing with world class difficulty i trash the other team 7up, then when i put the difficulty to legendary, opposing team plays like a god. For example they can shoot from outside the box no matter what team it is and scores.
I’ve noticed similar things for myself too. I’ve also noticed that if your team is equal or weaker on legendary, the other team is a god. But when you’re the better team (by a good margin) your team plays like the gods
I’d recommend legendary with sliders which slow you and the opposition down because if you don’t it will always be cricket scores
Use sliders on Legendary difficulty. The author of the channel has a video on sliders. I tried it and I can assure you i dont concede 5 goals on legendary difficulty anymore and dont score 7 goals either. Games end more like 0-0. This is realistic. So check out. And test it and change it by yourself. You will be satisfied I am sure.

I got old man Ronaldo and Messi on free transfers in my current save. Ronaldo is performing at the top of the league. And Messi has lost shooting tenacity but is still great on the wings. They also just make my youth kids better.

I don't understand why a league 2 club needs to get to last 16 in fa cup. If I fail my manager rating drops. Ridiculous
Objectives are pointless. I was doing a career mode with Petrolul in Romania, I put them in the Conference league and I was expected to make it to the semi finals with a team of 60-70 Rated Brazilians.
I got knocked out 3rd in the group, and Despite not even winning the league I was still in a job

This is FIFA not Football Manager you can win any match if you actually know how to play the game.

It's unbelievable for how many years career mode is carrying the same bothering issues, i think that this composure issues started in fifa 12.

Either leave it on balanced and it’ll go up gradually, or there’s certain plans in certain positions, I think CM, that allow you to train it +3 so it goes up quicker
@@kdburner7356 yeah but that’s only for certain positions. And if you leave it on balanced, your players won’t grow as quick or as good in certain areas. They have allowed it so stamina increases no matter what development you’re on for any position. Why can’t composure be the same? Or at least on more development plans for every position? At least one plan for every position should have it
@@kdburner7356 I also think the same way when it comes to physical stats. It only trains on defensive players. So youth players who are attackers will always have 50 physicality and that’s so annoying to train

@@BALHAM69 yeah currently my save at the moment was with my created club I got sacked during the 2026 - 2027 season went to Bournemouth until the 2028-2029 season got rehired by my created club lasted a bit got sacked again now I'm at Southampton back in prem as I had to guide them back to the prem.

As someone who has grown up playing every football game I could get my hands on, I fucking love the sport, I’m obsessed even. But playing FIFA just isn’t like football, it’s a scripted, frustrating (on purpose), lazy game lol
This is why football manager is better: it's Fifa career without most of the ridiculous bugs and way more leagues and cups ,more functions like a wage and transfer budget,way more advanced tactics system, training and free kick and corner routine,better scouting system,more realistic objectives,more realistic finances,dovI need to name more 😂😂😂

@@paftrsickl9339I feel like using sliders with 4-6 minute halves works a lot better for getting realistic scores than 20 minute games. I'm using sliders on my Portsmouth career mode right now and all games actually finish on realistic scores
