I'm Autistic too! And I want to try a minimalist lifestyle, but I'm also possibly ADHD and Dyslextic, living with a mom with a clutter hoarding problem. So anyway, your comment made me more curious and interested in this minimalist lifestyle and right now I hope it would be like this for me too 🥰
@@Jalyssa888 I just find it kinda boring, be in an empty space, and one block, colour especially if that’s literally every interior being built nowadays, objects in a room tell a story, take those away, it has no story to tell
As someone with adhd( I don’t use it as a crutch btw) going minimalist is so freeing 😁 I feel like a visitor in a hotel everything is clean and efficient and I don’t even clean besides dust and mop.
Eghhh. This comment gives me the confidence to make the change to minimalism and not feel like I’m not just coming up with another random project to distract me 😂
I like minimalism, especially in regards to less clutter and unnecessary items, but I need more color personally. I would prefer colorful minimalism if such a thing exists. lol
You can literally do your own form of minimalism and if it includes a lot of colours - awesome! There are no set rules and even though some people might want to push their understanding and their version of minimalism on others, you are absolutely free to make your own definition ❤
Not sure why people would criticize others for being minimalist lmao. ?? Personally i hate it for me and do find myself looking very boring if i don't wear flashy makeup, glitter, loads of jewelry and all things excessive. But maximalism is what makes me truly happy, if minimalism is what makes someone else happy then that's all that matters. Neither harms others, it's just a form of expression
Because we already live in a kind-of minimalist society. Sure, we hyper-consume, but only the most generic products. All cars are grey, white, or black. All stores sell the same shit. The real minimalist I respect is person who escapes the matrix and lives in a bungalo in the middle of nowhere. Not somone who wants to standardize his/her life-style.

I love the low-key, peaceful TH-cam shorts! Quite a contrast to the high-powered, distractingly meaningless way that this feature often gets used. This! My main hobby is lace-making, and I would say that's definitely not a boring aesthetic! I don't own a bajillion balls of yarn, I don't own a bajillion tools. Sure, my personal wardrobe is a bit more boring than I personally like but that's due to the dirty nature of my day job & limited space for a weekend wardrobe. I have a handful of skirts that I get constantly complimented on, and they are VERY bold. Heck, my car is covered in anime decals(I've designed them all myself, themed them around Mobile Suit Gundam) if you look AT my car you'd think i was a maximalist. Inside, its very nice, clean, and definitely minimalist. And the positive mental health shift with the much easier to clean environment!
Minimalism in architecture doesn't make sense But in industrial/product design minimalism makes sense. I am being forced into living a minimalistic lifestyle because a family member has decided they want to live that way. I really don’t like minimalism not because I like clutter because I don’t, but because I am a tech enthusiast and like having the latest and greatest tech. Minimalism is not for me but I am trying it so I can tell my family member I tried it and it doesn’t work for me.
I'm sorry that you're being forced to adopt this lifestyle. I have a friend who is a minimalist and very modern. They have all the latest electronics and their house still looks very nice. It's possible to be minimalist while keeping your electronics if they matter that much to you. There is no written rule.
@@CityChristina Thank you, I went from a very large room to a very small room which is just large enough to just have a bed and bedside cabinet. I am going to see how this goes, if I don’t like it I can always move away.
People need to understand that being a minimalist means that you‘ll only own the things you really need, the ones that noticeably make you feel good and grateful, and the things you love. In a time where we easily say „I love it“ about anything, minimalism teaches us to distinguish between things that really are worth our time, energy and money and things that just stuff to us. And minimalism teaches us to value having less (but oftentimes better things in return), seeing less, being cluttered up less. As an auDHD ex-maximalist who thought she loved her maximalism - let me tell you that I didn‘t actually love the stuff. It robbed me of so much energy, actually gave me anxiety and cost much money as well. Only after getting rid of it all I realized that all of that stuff really did weigh me down
Ah, yes. The beige aesthetic. Beige people, beige clothes, beige house. Decluttering doesn't necessarily require decluttering color. But if you're enjoying the Denmark prison experience, go off, I guess.
You're saying minimalism isn't boring and colorless while wearing a boring colorless outfit and standing in a boring colorless home. To each their own if thats the style you like, but you're not helping your point
Knowing I don't need the next "coolest" thing gives me the peace in saying no to it and being more happy with what I have.

There is something about necessities and daily chores without adding on new stuff or new lifestyle every now and then that soothes the mind.

It does. Minimalism is keeping things down to necessity but it's a fashion thing that's happening with the blah colors.

I always think being a minimalist is being grateful for what I already have.
I’ve lived a minimalist lifestyle since I got divorced in 94’. It’s absolute freedom.

Minimal definition of Minimalism - Only have things that you use everyday. If you don’t have use of it don’t buy it.
And if you no longer find value in it then donate, give away or recycle the item then if no choice toss.
