Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark directly follows the story of Fall of Cybertron. The game takes place in an alternate Universe before the Ark is launched in Fall of Cybertron. It's a crossover game that takes place during the new Transfomers movie, "Age of Extinction." The gameplay is much like the first two Cybertron games, so if you enjoyed those, then you should enjoy this one. Like the first two, you also get to play as both the Autobots and Decepticons as you learn about the power of the Dark Spark. As always, we added gameplay, dialogue and cutscenes to create a seamless story that never loses focus on the narrative. We hope you enjoy and if you do please LIKE, COMMENT and SHARE!

I think it has more to do with poor floor textures and poor flat lighting without the deep shadows and hard sources of light that high moon used

true. the bayverse doesn't know how the Dark spark came to earth. but the cybertron universe had the Dark spark shot out into space so cybertron universe will be spared from the Dark spark so the war on cyberton will continue.

+Ryan A The only part I didn't particularly like was the Bayformer sequences (for obvious reasons) but I thought the Cybertron chapters were cool. Of course the Bayformer chapters made me never buy it, and I'm hoping that there will be some continuation from War and Fall

Wait, if the Cybertron portion of this game is a prequel to Fall Of Cybertron, why does Megatron have his new chassis from Fall Of Cybertron? I remember that he had his old War For Cybertron chassis in that game's early levels before he was severely injured/temporarily killed by Metroplex. That's a nasty plot hole.

I want High Moon Studios to come back and give us a sequel to Fall Of Cybertron. Because that Deadpool game was a letdown.
High moon can do so much better if they come back. New Music/Sounds/Charcter forms/Maps/story/etc. But this game was just a waste of money. I felt like the dialogue was bad enough

It isn’t to me Because of the Cybertron chapter. As it shows how the Insecticons got recruited into the con ranks for fall of Cybertron & tells about the dark spark’s origin story.
it really bugs me that the Transformers are human sized when they are in earth xc that is my biggest problem of this game. The Transformers need to be massive!! not human sized
for the movie side they should've be taller but not for the cybertron side they are human size.

Even though this game wasn't all that great, I just love the way how Soundwave and Starscream are just trying to stop them while Shockwave just "mhm, yeah they're goners."
The timeline theory I have for movie-game-crossover:
War for Cybertron. Yeah they battle, you know.
Fall of Cybertron. They leave into a portal at the end of that game.
*The portal allows time to learn of the Cube. And slows the arrival of the autobots to look for it on earth. Megatron arrives first, years into the past, and autobots arrive as Transformers (Michael Bay) begins*
All transformers movies happen until the forth.
Then forth movie and game intertwine. The end :)
The Cybertron games are technically tied into the Aligned continuity.

Sean Worley If you watch the epilogue you'll notice that the AOE and Cybertron universe are not the same. And it's clearly not the same Grimlock. The Dark Spark traveled from the cybertron universe to the aoe universe and finally to the G1 universe.

So Optimus Primus created The Matrix of Leadership and The ancestor of Megatron created the Dark Spark but the keeper is starscream.
I actually liked this game. I was just kinda disappointed by the lack of autobots that were playable in the earth missions. Like just 4 autobots?? Really? Where's hound? Crosshairs? Anyone else they could have brought in?
A game where the combat is shooting things? And they didn't include Hound, the walking ammunition's bot?
While the game itself isn't very good, and the story is absolutely terrible, you have to have a bit of respect for the cutscenes, especially in the second level. I personally think they're great.

Why everyone is so harsh about this game? I like it.
Looks awesome. The moments between Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, Sharpshot, and Swindle are truly golden, and Ironhide and Sideswipe's interactions are nice, too. I'm not entirely satisfied with how the AOE portion fits into the actual movie, and I feel it would have benefited from featuring Galvatron trying to restore his army, for a clear starting point (between the Lockdown battle and the ending). However, Lockdown's motives do make sense and are surprisingly in character. Also, I'm not sure if this game was released before or after Age of Extinction, so it is understandable why they would use Lockdown and not Galvatron. The references to Jhiaxus, Megatron, and other elements are nice touches, seeing as this game was released in the year of the 30th Anniversary for Transformers. The ending with G1 Optimus Prime is the icing on the cake. It's not perfect, but it definitely looks well worth picking up.
Yeah I agree, I feel like it had so much potential but it feels like they tried to make basically war for cybertron 3 but tried to add age of extinction which wasn't terrible since the way they put it made sense, it travels through all universes, but it's just the way the age of extinction parts were done were not as well executed since it was exactly the same mechanics and weapons, but it would make more sense if the mechanics changed when it comes to that part and they had weapons that looked more like what would be in age of extinction, and gridlock wasn't that well done since it was exactly the same as fall of cybertron but with less sense since he used a mace staff and tried stabbing with it like a sword, not to mention his design wasn't that good especially compared to the movie version, beyond that though the premise is interesting and had lots of potential and the idea of gridlock fighting a titan like enemy is a nice touch, could've been done better but for all its faults its still interesting

My issue is that megatron has his new design. But I do like the cybertron parts. Especially the trio decepticons mission. I thought he Earth parts where kinda lame. But it does show that they might be in a different universe. As hinted again at the end with g1 prime. I also like the references to idw and previous games such as blastoffs quote I see in foc. And zeta primes mention of galvatron.
I love how they presented the literal concept of time travel and making the movie transformers and g1 transformers meet (which would've been so goddamn awesome) and they didn't even have the balls to take advantage.

I've got to say, they new studio got really lazy to make their own animations and soundtrack. Just scrapped content even though it's not content. A good example is grimlocks attacks and execution: shoving their ,,bat" into the enemy should crush him and not impale him.

Drift reveals he knows the humans.
While watching the Cutscenes to Rise of the Dark Spark I realized how poorly executed it was. Think about it, the antithesis to the Matrix of Leadership, the unlimited power, Megatron from Fall of Cybertron in it. The Antagonist's story writes itself. But we have to deal with the High Moon story being destroyed piece by piece. There's no way for it to fit into the FOC Timeline since Megatron's already got his new body after his death, but that would leave a tiny fraction of time to have this game happen. So either they just ruined High Moon's games, or this isn't canon. I pray it's the latter. Next we have to deal with the terrible Bayformers arc, where the models that were actually made by Edge of Reality feel like a bunch of jello. Look at Prime, Drift, Bee, Stinger, and Grimlock's Models Now and tell me that they are allowed to hold a candle to High Moon's excellent modeling work. You shouldn't unless you're joking because the poor designs of the characters from the movies translate even worse in game form where the specular texture was given a blinding shimmer that makes it look like Jello. Next the texturing on them is so ugly and lazy, finally the bodies for Lockdown, Drift, and Prime look like gorillas with their giant arms, and they look terrible when they lift their arms above their chests. Next, Lockdown is a terrible villain, tell me one reason why Lockdown is an interesting villain based on his actions in the narrative. You can't, he has no personality, is as cookie-cutter as it gets, and when the dark spark is cut off he then proceeds to yell "No!" like a cliche villain. They ruin every, single, character in this story, FOC Shockwave when he jumps off the bridge, that's stupid because he can fly, Cliffjumper was stupid for not putting the detonator on his back and taking his chances with being thrown off, remember this is the same bot who jumped out of a ship into a rust storm, Lockdown is stupid for not doing anything in a timely manner and not killing the three bots at the beginning of the game. All of this is just terrible, they do High Moon's Assets a Disservice for even daring to reduce the functionality of the transformations by slowing them down, the magic at work with High Moon's transformations was to hide one mesh and reveal the other with a slight of hand, that slight of hand is exploited in all of it's glory to see the second mesh appear out of nowhere along with the transformation animators for the new models being so lazy and focusing on just spinning to hide the second mesh so the audience doesn't catch on. Next, they just reuse Motion with Grimlock's transformation except on a worse model. This game didn't need more time, it needed a better studio that could flesh out any character. I pray that this story is struck from the history books as it defamed a great story with the High Moon games and gave us this garbage to advertise a movie that it manages to be worse than. Yes I said it, Dark Spark is worse than AOE because AOE tried to have a story, but Dark Spark was so bland, unoriginal, boring, and terrible that it is forgotten instantly.

Once upon a time Back in 2012 Avengers Bruce alias Hulk has a great tone in his voice saying his quote: I like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to make Weapons of Mass Destruction. Then Nick Fury with a bad ass tone said Because of him. Thor goes Me? Last year Earth had a visitor with a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learn that not only are we alone, but we are hopelessly, Hilariously out gunned. He was right to have the Tesseract and Mind Stone weaponized, sure they weaponized the Mind Stone to Give Birth to Vision, but that was not enough, he was great help in Age of Ultron, but barely any help in Infinity War, was not learning basics of melee weapons, and fist fights, and look where that got him, poor Vision😣, would have used space stone not only for weapons, and a energy source, but also give each people to transform into SuperHeroes, with the Space Stone shaped as the Tesseract Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel, Pietro and Wanda got their powers from the Mind Stone, became Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver however was only in 2 movies, died in Age of Ultron, those 3 were not enough, mostly disapointed in Captain Marvel, she's supposed to be one of us fellow humans, when it comes to Fighting for Earth between unidientified new rare Space Stations, or alien planets from Half life threatning endangerment, complete Annihilation, or Enslavement, we Will NOT hesitate to let those alien planets get destroyed, and take control of stations or destroy stations, we would let Aliens dies while we go save our Homeworld Earth, but she didn't see it that way, Captain Marvel is a FOOL, She was missing most of the Damn Marvel Cinematic Universe, she put too much of the gosh Damn safety of Aliens and unknown technology first before Earth, she left earth in danger during Infinity War, her movie Sucks, she was no help in infinity war, barely any help in Avengers endgame, she sucked at fighting Thanos, she could have used 1 Laser Photon blast to insincerate chitauri and outrider army like in Video How Avengers Endgame should have ended video, we could have used New Unique Objects Extreme Powers to make More Rare SuperHeroes Greater than Captain Marvel, even have omnipotent powers, such as give Creation to Squirrel girl, and gotten first Captain Universe with Omnipotent powers. And Captain Marvel she sucks even more in Avengers Endgame, SHIELD, Pym Industries, and SWORD Really should have continued more with Phase 2, but it's not their Faults at all, it's Only disney fault, they make most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Suck, ever since Disney Owns Marvel during 2009, most of their Movies have been absolute shit, most suck horrible, Even Avengers Endgame sucks, we Really could have used those weapons. We could have use Beautiful but treacherous places like the Mirror dimension, dark dimension, Niffleheim. Or even better could have Use New Super Heroes such as Adam Warlock, (as seen in guardiands of the Galaxy 2 ending, which that movie sucks, even lost Yondu), could have used Squirrel girl, and get a Captain Universe SuperHero, (there's more than 1 Captain Universe there's William Nguyen, Tamara Devoux, Spider-man, Daredevil, Captain Universe Deadpool that got thanos Killed Silver surfer, and even HULK ). Here are the reasons why it is not a good game
1. The story is full of wasted potential it is inconsistent with their source material and full of plot holes not to mention continuity errors
2. Bland Transformers Design making it hard to tell between who is an autobot and who is a decepticon
3. Poor Voice Acting except for Peter Cullens
4. Dull and overly formulaic level design
5. Stiff controls especially if your in stealth force mode
6. Bad Selection of weapons Most weapons are useless because they deal very little damage or have an insanely large spread that makes it never even hit the target in the first place
7. Only one multiplayer mode escalation which is basically a co-op survival mode and this mode is absent from the Wii U Version
8. Story has a lot of padding 3 hours go by accomplishing very little in the Cybertron levels
9. The story conflicts with the story for the movie as most plot elements contradict the events that happen in the movie
10. Despite being marketed as a crossover between the cast of the movies and the War for Cybertron series both casts have completely separate stories never encounter each other a single time
11. All enemies are extremely bland generic and lack any real tactics simply shooting basic projectiles at you from across the room
12. The Wii U version of the game runs poorly with severe frame rate drops when more than a few enemies are around as well as ugly muddy textures that take very long to load the proper high resolution texture’s
