  • This is my mom's 2017 BMW 740i. It has been a very good car for us other than the unexpected expensive maintenance bill. Hopefully we have many more reliable miles!

Awesome looking car. When this car first came out, I didn’t really like the look of it. But now with the facelift, I think it looks a lot better than the new one. Don't ever take your BMW to the dealership since they don't want to extend your warranty don't give them any money for repairs. Find a trustworthy and good independent BMW auto shop near you and the price will be way cheaper then the dealership.

@@JVette01 yeah man these cars are awesome. With BMWs you really won't run into maintenance issues till around 80k miles. You should replace water pump, radiator and thermostat before 85k miles as preventive maintenance. Also the valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gaskets will start to leak around those times as well. With those things fixed the car should be good for awhile.

When it comes down to it most of the maintenance isn't going to be different than any other car. It's easy enough to service yourself if you're so inclined. The costs of those services assumes a customer base that is not price-sensitive.

Those things are self DIY for me. Tire ramps, an oil kit from amazon or local store tools specific to that car, High quality oil from walmart (same oil or better than dealer unless u go liqui molly) and am good to go. Practice safety too. Those filters can be bought cheap too. That job should be $100 give or take. The dealers destroy people's wallets even if its a chevy dealer. Euro car dealers are the worst.
