definitely a bass, awesome video
"Speed painting" is something I need to do more of to help me loosen up and see more values over form. It's impressive what you can do in such short time. It's inspiring.
Love watching you work.
Thank you!
Loved this, very helpful. So glad you've found time to post more often, hope you're able to continue.
Great painting 🙌🏻🙌🏻✨👏🏼👏🏼permission to paint from your reference.Thank you for sharing ✨
Yep, go ahead. But I challenge you to change yours in creative ways like I did. 😊
Love this! Very helpful and encouraging 👍 well done sir!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Definitely encouraging. I’m just starting and I’ve been doing copies that are straightforward and soon I will try painting something original. It was interesting that the photo you referenced was ok as a photo but I could see how it could make a beautiful painting. Then you showed me how to do it. Than you
You’re welcome! It sounds like you really let it work for your benefit!
That looks really good, I love monochromatic art
I love watching you paint. Your talent is amazing!
Brilliant yet again, many tips to use on my next painting.👍😎🇬🇧
excellent, it gives you so much freedom, I love it
I'm learning so much from you. Thanks for all the tidbits of knowledge!
That was amazing to watch, thank you! I am the Queen of Overworking a piece, and often like the middle stage of my paintings versus the end result. I don’t know why I keep fiddling with the painting and can’t seem to stop u til I find it getting worse instead of better. I’ve started timing myself and forcing myself to stop when the alarm sounds. Not great but it helps
Yes! A timer is a great idea! I think it’s a lot like practicing riding a bike up hills faster…or learning how to swim faster. We already know how to bike or swim, but the “faster” part still takes a lot of practice and pushing. Use bigger brushes, use the timer, and don’t worry as much about the outcome. 🙂
Great talents, really enjoyable! I have subscribed I want to learn more from you. Thank you.🙏🏼
Awesome, thank you!
Wonderful! I'm learning so much from you
That was fun! Could I ask why you decided to leave the background as the browns and purples vs adding white, more like the spotlight in the photo? Always intrigued by those decisions!
Good question! I tend to make decisions like that based on how I feel about the subject at the moment …it’s pretty much a matter of taste, kind of like, would I rather have chocolate or vanilla this time. 😂 Maybe it comes from just painting a lot, but I feel like I have more fun when I don’t overthink things like that.
@@TrentGudmundsen Thanks for getting back. Do you think it was because it was the background that you were willing to make the change? Vs referencing / reproducing the photo more closely for other aspects?
Nice work, thank you for the demo! 😊
Waw wonderful thanks for sharing 👍 ❤
Very enjoyable. Thank you!
Fantastic.
When you are applying your first layers, are you using any solvents, or oil? It seems to flow really nicely
My brush is a tiny bit wet (with just solvent) at the beginning. I don’t have a “go to”, but more just feel it out…in other words, if it feels too dry I’ll add a bit. But I never (or almost never) thin down my paint after the first steps. 🙂
@@TrentGudmundsen thanks for responding!
I wll following you master 💐
Really good
Trent, where do you buy marble powder for putting in the primer?
I think I got it from Blick ...mine is Fredrix brand. If you can't find marble powder you can use plaster of paris that you've mixed but not allowed to set up (mix it with water like normal, except add more water than usual, and stir for at least 15 minutes while it's setting, then you'll finally have a soupy mixture that you can either use wet or dry out on a pan in the sun). Sounds like maybe I should make a video about that!
👍 Nice work !
Thanks! 👍
I’m so very happy that I found your channel. Thank you so much!!
I'm so glad you enjoy it!
