Thanks to Paul and Tina for being great hosts. We had a great time. We all enjoy a wonderful hobby. Paul has a couple hundred video's on how to get your car road worthy. No excuses, get your Model A out on the road and enjoy it. Added note- We made it home safe after 5500 miles in 27 day on the road. Wonderful journey! Thanks from Leah and Steve
Wow!!!.... Good to hear you made it back safely enjoying a LONG voyage in your Model A!!!!.... I just purchased a Model A..... a trip like yours is high on my bucketlist!!! Greetings,Henk Tulp, the Netherlands.
Hey Paul how does your model a handle in 107 degree weather my radiator is boiling over and I've flushed it a bunch of times but it's still doing it it never did that before but I just figured it was the heat
Driving a Model A on a long trip is SO satisfying. In 1976, the bicentennial year, my girlfriend at the time and I drove her 1930 Coupe (totally stock) towing a small travel trailer from San Francisco to Nashville along Route 66 to attend the MAFCA National Convention. Then we continued east to Williamsburg VA, then to Philadelphia, Detroit and Greenfield Village, then Mount Rushmore, then Yellowstone before returning home, 5 weeks and over 8,000 miles later. Only problem: had to readjust the points a few times. DO IT.
When I was just a kid, my Dad took my two brothers and I on a Model A trip, from here in central Iowa, down into the Ozarks of southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. We were fortunate enough to have with us a good friend of Dad's and his three sons. One car was a roadster, the other a sedan. The sedan had a trailer hitch on it so we could pull a small trailer with all our camping gear. I don't remember how many days we were gone, but it sure was a fun trip.
It's always good to see long haul A's. I'm hoping to take a trip like that next year. The year has been a bit too busy, so my seat time is down considerably in my own, so I always appreciate being able to get some virtual time in with the videos.
Paul I love your shirt. Great video as well. My parents were from Minnesota and drove out to California in 1941. My dad a mechanic always stopped to help stranded motorists along the way
You have to stop at A&W.. it's a must, I traveled everywhere with my dad many years ago as a kid and we never passed one without stopping. He loved that frosty mug.. R.I.P. pops. I miss that man..
Gteat story! Here in Iowa there are several sections of the original Lincoln Highway still driveable, and several towns have celebrations connected to it...
The lincoln highway is an amazing story. I watched the packard documentary which showed henry joy who got the ball rolling with it. We named a road after henry joy called joy road. But paul another great video. I also checked out the video of the 20 millionth ford. They drove it in a model A. What a journey it took. I've wondered how long it would take if I drove a model A from garden city michigan to California. Man that would take a but. Plus stay away from LA and San Francisco. Lawless areas.
Agreed! LA and SF are indeed lawless places. I can't wrap my head around how people vote those nut jobs who ruined those places into office over and over.
@@ModelA I firmly believe the votes are rigged to keep themselves in office. As Stalin mentioned in the 30's "It's not the votes that count, it's who counts the votes."

That is the car I learned to drive in the late 50's, ours was a right hand drive. A thirty year old car looked a lot more out of date in 1960 than a thirty year old car does now. Ours ended its days as a paddock ute with a tip tray for carrying mallee roots, no muffler, a thousand revs on a frosty morning, I can shut my eyes and hear it still.
Great story, Paul! Thank you for sharing. Taking a cross-country trip like that is something most people only dream about. Once I get a Model A, I’d like to do something like that ax well.

This is an epic trip for a model A. They own a beautiful little car ,it's going to take lots of time but will be worth it. My favorite place in California is Calaveras county. I did a bit of the Lincoln highway in OHIO this year, on my way back from the Packard museum. If you are driving a Model A in 120 degrees you are going to have memories the rest of your life, of heat stroke .
I have driven a stock Model A home from Sacramento area on a 110 degree day. I was wearing nothing but a smile and sitting on my towel with all the windows open. Even so, I was pretty overheated when I got home and took a couple days to recover.
