What an awesome video! As an ESE teacher myself, I want to say a huge THANK YOU for providing RTI services and giving students a chance to be staffed! You had a tremendous year and thanks for sharing your pros and cons! My husband and I are going to Gatlinburg, TN for a week next week! My summer officially begins this week after Tuesday and Wednesday post-planning. I'm so excited about my new school and new ESE position! What are you teaching during summer school? Keep the fantastic videos coming!
Katie!! I always appreciate your comments so much! Thank YOU! I hope you and your husband enjoy your vacation, Gatlinburg is beautiful!! My husband and I will be staying there for a couple of nights this summer as well :) During summer school, it's reading all day errrday! So basically a lot of comprehension, phonics, vocabulary.. ya know just trying to keep the kids entertained for 6 hours lol I hope you have an amazing summer you are SO close and you are going to rock it at your new school!! 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! It’s so interesting to hear how different this role can look depending on the school. In my experience this year, I was at a school that hired multiple intervention teachers & tutors using covid funding. Because of that, our positions are also temporary. I’m so sorry to hear the funding got cut at your school! 😢 that’s so hard and something I’m not looking forward to. I admire your ability to make the best of the situation!! After having intervention groups this year, I realized 4th grade is one of my favorite ages!! I can’t wait to hear about your experience! 💓 I feel like we have a lot in common - I am also an introvert, which has me thinking I want to pursue this role even if it means going to different schools. It’s a trade off that I feel is worth it. On the other hand, I do think I would give the classroom another chance one day - but I feel like a lot of things would have to change in the current climate of education for me to choose that.
Thank you for your sweet comment! It makes my day reading these 💜I totalllyyyy understand going to different schools if it means staying in a small group position. Us introverts need as much peace and quiet as possible lol I wish you all the best next year and hope you enjoy your summer 😌
