I really did not appreciate her until lately. Like Freddy Mercury, a blessing only recognized now it seems. So sad. Fine someone else who remotely sounds like her or Freddy for that matter. ❤️🌟❤️
I was actually at this concert and not very far at all from the stage. Janis was taking swigs of Southern Comfort from the crowd. The drummer looked to me like he was tripping big time and really locked in. I don't remember much more than that, other than they were great. This recording reveals what everybody knew -- the band was kind of sloppy and not always in tune -- but we loved them. James Gurley an interesting and innovative guitarist, but again, sloppy. I had seen them in an indoor, smaller venue (the Continental Ballroom in Santa Clara) twice the year before and that helped a bit.
