      Does it have support for recording in computer? And if I press 3 keys at the same time, do I get the sound of all 3 keys together?
      Sorry for asking childish question, but no one in my friend circle has ever used Piano or keyboard including me. I only used to see it in music class as a fancy item. But, now I want to learn it.

    If you're struggling to decide which of these 3 to get, think about your *actual* needs. In my case, since it was my first keyboard, i really didn't mind that much about the x700 having a better sound processor, as first I needed to learn the instrument; also I needed something not that large so it would fit in my computer desk when i use it as a Midi controller, so the s300 was the perfect option.
    I have to say I'm really happy with my decision, as the s300 is great for a beginner and has enough functions to keep you entertained for a while. Maybe once you get really good at it you can think of an upgrade.
    Thank you for these videos Jeremy, I've always wanted a keyboard but this comparison actually made me get the damn thing.

    After having heared both the CTX800 and the CT S-300 side by side I have to disagree about the speakers. The CTX has a much more ballanced overall tone than the Casiotones wich is more boxy. The CTX on the other hand is too scooped on some sounds for my taste. The CTX has 12cm diameter whereas the CTS has oval 13x6cm. The CTX also sounds more natural and has better/longer samples. But that beeing said: I got me a CT S300 (!) because I mainly use it as a controller, as a camp fire guitar-substitute and for some sofa practicing. The Keybed on both is awesome, but I like the matt finish on the CTS a bit more. Too bad, It has the old sound chip, but it´s fine for my kind of usage. Thank you, Jeremy for your videos. Best wishes from Germany :-)

    I love my Casio Ct-S 200, because the key action is great for a Midi-Keyboard (no noise, no springy feel!) and I like some of the internal sounds too (e-pianos, organs and the "odd old tape recorder").
    I don't mind about key sensitivity, I add that later in the DAW. BUT (big BUT), why the hell hasn't Casio released the Cortana-Software for PC? The last thing I want to use while making music is a phone or a tablet, I want to see the software on my huge bright PC-Monitor.
    For the next generation of Casiotone, please add a proper USB-Plug (no Micro-USB) and also audio via USB, so I don't have to use my interface and can reduce lag.

    Your videos have been very helpful in deciding what to buy. I used to play piano when I was younger but haven't played much for years but the electronic keyboard concept interests me. I sold my acoustic upright piano when I downsized after retiring and I don't have space for a large piano any more. And after watching a lot of your videos I ended up ordering a Casio CT-S300. My thought process was I decide later that I want to get more serious (with the spare time I have since I've retired) then I can purchases a larger more powerful keyboard for home use and the CT-S300 will still be useful portable when travelling. And it's even light enough to put in a bag and bring onto a plane as carry on luggage! I wish we paid US prices in Australia, in USD the CT-S300 cost me $232 but relative to the cost of other keyboards it is stil an affordable unit. Thank you :)

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Have fun, buddy! Just be mindful that a keyboard costs a small fraction of an acoustic and is way smaller, so do adjust your expectation on sound accordingly.

    Jeremy, have you done a video for us beginners that explains things like registrations, keyboard splits, layered voices, and things like that? They're becoming very common on all but the very cheapest beginner keyboards. I've looked through your video listings and haven't found anything that looks like that. It's probably true that most beginners who are grinding their way through the first year or two of learning to play probably don't need them (after all, none of this stuff is on an acoustic piano.) Some of us though, will be curious, and usually, the more you know about your instrument, the better. If you have something, you should learn how it works and master it. If you go far enough, you'll need it.
    If there a video out there that has this info, please point me to it. If not, please consider making one (or more if necessary - function of the week maybe?)
    Thanks for your videos!

    I bought the red ct s200 after watching your earlier review. I love the portability, the looks and the integration with Chordana. Casio did a realy amazing job with the design of this keyboard. I realy hope they would use this formfactor also for their ct x series of keyboards. However, the ct s200 produces a very metallic sound - up to the point that I gave up using it. Certainly when used with headphones it irritates. My 10 year old casio lk-300tv sounds much much better but is just not very portable. Casio should produce a version of the ct-s200 with the AIX chip inside. Can you recommend something better? The Roland Go Keys looks good but seems to have problems in supporting Android.

    • @johnd942
      @johnd942 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      +hvx colors: Thank you so much for sharing this information as I was considering buying the same model. Phew! I feel so lucky to see your warning about the metalic noise. I am very sorry for you now that you have bought it, and only so recently. I notice that Jeremy See has NOT bothered to comment, (at least not yet) and I find that very disappointing. But maybe he hasn't seen your report yet, so we can give him the benefit of the doubt...for the moment.
      But it does go to show the value of NOT TAKING advice on WORDS ALONE, even if from a man with 25 years experience that Jeremy See keeps telling viewers that he has. We really need to check musical instruments out in the shop...at least where possible.
      Have you considered taking the item back to the shop or Seller? Could it be a fault in the item, do you think? I really feel pissed off for you! Such a bummer!

    It's 2023, I think I will get the CT S300 Im not sure. I already own an 88-weighted Keys Yamaha keyboard that is in my living room but I'm getting back to playing piano and need a 61 keyboard to sit on my 3-sided desktop. I'm trying to decide if I will buy a Yamaha PSR E373 OR a CASIO CT S300 OR Casio CT 700. I want to get back to my piano-playing days. I need it.

    At 01:31 you say the ct-s300 it's touch sensitive with "3 velocity curves". According to the Casio website, it is only 2 levels of sensitives (same 2 levels on the older ctk series: piano or forte). If I'd like more levels of sensitives I should go for the ct-s1 or ct-s400, isn't it?

      2 touch curves + off (which is flat) = 3

    Hey guys I’m having issues using my CT S200 as a midi controller. I’m using ableton live, but I have tried it on FL studio also. For whatever reason, when plugging in my keyboard to my laptop, I do not see it coming up under either of my DAWs midi input, in any channel. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi Jeremy! Can’t decide between the CTS300 ($180), LK250 ($200), and the CTX700 ($200). I want to learn how to play piano and would like to get good quality sound but am not sure if I might have any use or will be able to maximize all the other features of the CTX700 as a beginner. Highly appreciate the portability of the CTS300/LK250 but worry about quickly outgrowing it. Dont think I’d need the lighted keys all too much though. Would appreciate your input and thanks for all the genuine reviews!

      @@JeremySee Thank you! So it's only possible to detect chords (i mean - when i push the keys and there is a name for a chord displays) in accompaniment mode?
      Is it possible just to use metronome and chord detection? I am a newbie and I'd like to see what chord I am playing now.

    Quesstioon: does the pitch bend metter? i love the more curved design on CTS 200 and 300 but i dont know..if you say ctx700 has better chip sound it means a lot...
    Can the Chordana do some Korg sounds?? The chordana is an hit against rtx 700, i think rtx700 is for more professional like who really want to start an studio,the cts300 is on mid of both bringing more pro resources to cts200,and cts200 is a more casual one..but even so cts200 is very better than an ctk1550 that for me was very professional about almost 2 years ago when i got mine...
    Surprisely how fast it passes, i spent 1 year with it. i learned alot and the sound was very clear and beautiful,i imagine the cts 200-300 and ctx 700 how better it is.
