Hai Lan does not get the credit she deserves for her political savviness. She was capable of carrying out effective attacks against nearly everyone in the harem who tried to hurt her or Ruyi while continuing to appear innocent and simply concerned.
I think Hailan would have made a terrifyingly effective Empress. She's incredibly good at navigating the Harem, not easily swayed, and she's both caring and ruthless, though not so much she becomes a bully.

She was able to because she wasn't in love with the Emperor. She also knew how to play him. I think she knew him better than anyone. She could attack and no one ever guessed it was her. I love her so much.

Following the successful defeat of the 8th and 9th Princes by the Yongzheng Emperor, Consort Zhen Huan is escorted back to the Forbidden City by the imperial eunuchs where Yongzheng informs her that he has demoted his two rebellious brothers and renamed them as Achina and Seserhei, which mean "dog" and "pig" in the Manchurian language.
