I have been listening to all Kip's songs for a week. I realize, that my heart has been hurting or some real country music to have with all my folk music and this is where I can find it.

This has to be the greatest and most underrated country song of the past decade. It harkens back to Cash, Hank Jr., or Billy Joel. I haven’t stopped listening to this song for three years and it never gets old.

“Guitar Man” came from actually watching a guy in a bar, and it just took me back to being that guy for so many years. That's how that song came about, was drawing from someone, remembering my life and the people that were a part of my life at that particular time. I think that's the most honest, autobiographical song. That's not that sad... it's powerful.
