Hey Group, Hope y’all enjoy this video. This was filmed in September, a few weeks before my fateful run-in with a Rattlesnake Bite. Recovering from the bite and daily rainstorms have us editing most days,. Many more videos to come. Until Next Time, Bob Hansler
Bearded & Bored I know right, can’t wait to try it myself! 🐍 🌵 🔥. Hey, Bearded, hows that cedar countertop comin along? Can’t wait to see more of what you’re doin.
Never had a problem with the Poulan...until I put the wrong gas in it:-( I wasn't paying attention and ended up running a tank of regular gas through it. I'll have to replace the piston and cylinder at some point. New project!
Dude, you have to keep up the content when you’re able. You’re knowledge, positive attitude and badass best friend huck have taught me more than any book. I appreciate the effort put in and hope you can keep it coming. Kickass job.
Your pup is so well trained. I love the abundant uses of cactus pad. I read in a "survival" book once that "snakes are scary and don't bother with them (when it comes to eating them)." Literally, word for word. I've never eaten snake but I keep hearing it's good. Great video. I'm definitely interested in more desert survival stuff.
Those survival cards are awesome! Excellent way to carry around survival tools in with your credit cards! Rattlesnakes taste pretty good if you can get past the fact that it's a snake. Be careful of the head...even when it isn't part of the snake any longer, the venom is still dangerous. Bury the head right away. A small or baby rattlesnake is just as dangerous as a larger one. And if you see one rattlesnake, look around for another one too.
Ha ha....love the look on your dog after you offered him some....."Nah......I ain't even gonna look dude." No way I would be sitting in there "knowing" there are other rattlers in there with you....no way. Great video Bob. Thanks for sharing.
Cool video Bob. Your dog is so cool. He has the most kick back attitude that I have ever seen. Plus he listens to you. Thanks for the video. Hope you are doing good. Hope you are healing up after that bite. God bless.
Thank you Bob. Your knowledge of the great outdoors, and your constant calm, collected demeanor are an unending inspiration to me. I sincerely wish a speedy recovery for you every day.
Great videos, keep them coming. I see in your comment that you got rattlesnake bit, hope this finds you doing great. Brother I live here in the Tennessee hills and I was bitten by a timber rattler in a fishing run with my boys and wife. Its no fun. I drove us out of the cove myself, tingling, sick, sweating, and dizzy. Doc said it affected my central nervous system and theres no cure for that. I get nervous real quick, and I have nerve control issues but by the grace of the good lord I'm still here. I would love to be out there with you. I've always been better suited for the outdoors. My family has lived in these hills for over 250 years and the outdoors is where I feel more alive. I love watching someone else that loves the outdoors as much as I do. Keep up the work, a keep the love for the beauty that God created. God bless you and yours.
Your videos are far and above all the videos I have watched on survival, and outdoor living. Looking forward to a lot more. Can’t believe Huck doesn’t like rattle snake.
................Good morning ......Please allow me to add a few more thoughts to my earlier comment which was done after my first viewing of this epic masterpiece . My first viewing/comment was done at 1:30 am this morning after a late night drive returning from my grandkid's football game.....I have viewed it twice more after sleep and during coffee..... ...............Yall have taken survival/historical videography skills to all new heights . When I refer to "yall " in my comments you know I am referring to you, Shawna , sometimes Brea, and Huck. With your efforts and artistic talents yall have ADVANCED video art Back through the ages to the days of the early hunter/gatherers of the desert Southwest.....Watching you and Huck kneeling at your cooking fire in a rugged cave gives me visions of the Indians of the region in that same setting, and I know Shawna is behind the camera . My hat is off to yall and, please....can't wait for your five day adventure......Thanks for taking us back in time with you...The drone footage is great too........ much appreciated !!
Interesting video and I have also taken a bite from Tiger Rattlesnake in my case. Not fun and back in the 1970's no antivenom, ya just had to sit it out.

I’ve always wanted to try rattle snake but every time we run across them normally when hunting were so far from a hospital we don’t risk it even if we have shot guns. Like you said no meat is worth a venomous bite.
I know you're wisely concerned about rattle snakes, I've been following. My question is about the one that got away earlier. Are you not worried because of the fire and the activity and having a dog?? Is that other rattler gonna leave you alone because you made his home less appealing???? Is that it???
Rattles are to tell animals that they are there “don’t step on me”. I’m big and he can see the heat through his pits. He wants to stay away from large animals. Huck is snake smart... failing that he has his Rattlesnake vaccine. All safe out here.
