Thanks for posting this! AFIK, the animation in the movie was done by TOEI. Lion, the 80's group that did the title song for the movie, were (from what I've read) more popular in Japan then they were here in the USA!
Ahh, Transformers Victory. When they didn't fuck around. Truly the most badass cartoon intro. That test footage for the movie at the end? Holy shit, talk about NIGHTMARE FUEL! Kinda glad that wasn't the trailer they used. Seeing Unicron eating a planet was bad enough but to hear him munching, digesting and slowly fueling his organs like that.. eesh. I never would have let me as a kid watch that movie if, as a parent, I knew that was in it, lol.
@@masterfarr8265 I always either accept either he was brought back (like how Optimus was revived) or he was never dead during the events of the movie from the Japanese continuity.
While most of the music in the promo trailer comes from Star Trek III - where did they sourced from music during destruction of Lithone and Autobot city battle?
+Dark Spire17 (BALTOFAN02) Umm...they actually used music from the soundtrack of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan & Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. And they did it again when Unicron transformed. While it's cool that never made it into the finished product, I'M wondering how they even got away with using it for the trailer in the first place.
no music from 2. ive checked my xomplete albums fro 2. its all from 3 (unless the destruction of lithone is from 2 in an album i dont have) could you tell me the track?
+RodConvoy1987 Unknown, but it made for some awkward moments during the Japanese TF: Masterforce series, in which Wheeljack was alive and well, appearing in several episodes....
I'll have to go back and look...my memory's hazy, but I have the Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory multi-DVD release...great excuse to watch it again! :D
RodConvoy1987 CapeMike Also, Ironhide appeared in Headmasters, plus the scenes in the first episode recapping how Optimus died and how Megatron became Galvatron are completely different from the movie. It's weird because Toei animated the movie...
Cman 1O1 Dalek I think you're mistaken. The Rebirth was produced to bring the animated series to an end in America. In Japan however, they decided against dubbing The Rebirth and instead produced their own series which was called Headmasters. The Rebirth actually aired in the US after Headmasters had started airing in Japan.
excuse me, do you mind if ui use the commercials from this vid and rip their music, ive allways wanted to restore the japanese music from the old scrakble city commercials
This only reinforces my stand "The Transformers" is considered an anime! ^_^ The Japanese theme is cute, a far cry from the edgy and catchy US theme. Love them both, nonetheless. But should asked during the series' heydays, the US theme is much better. Glad to see the Japanese version.
I watched this movie the opening weekend and I swear in the scene where you see Wheeljack and Windcharger's corpses they did a small pan of other autobot corpses but I have not seen that scene since
Nearly 30 years later, this movie still holds up.
If only they can remake the Movie into 2 parts, with the deleted scenes.
Yeah.
MDthornton83 the Unicron consuming that planet is more graphic, digesting it into fuel.
Instead Optimus alive they killed him sequel is nothing a mess

Oh cmon now...
As diehard Transformers fan, this video is super awesome. Thanks!!!
The best from japan
In the movie story bit, has anyone noticed at 17:13, the music that starts playing is part of Iron Maiden's Losfer Words?!! That's unexpected...
Angers me that they cut all this extra fighting.
Unfortunately the movie was not released in Japan. Until many years
Because of that, Wheeljack made an appearance in Transformers victory
@@masterfarr8265 I always either accept either he was brought back (like how Optimus was revived) or he was never dead during the events of the movie from the Japanese continuity.
5:04 It's Mr. Popo
Man, America got some good intros but Japan was on fire!

4:57 Did the boy shown here Daniel Witwicky? is he supposed to be Blondeboy eh?
The Evolution of Transformers (9 @ 9 Segments from WGN Morning News Only)
This is AWESOME Thanks!
While most of the music in the promo trailer comes from Star Trek III - where did they sourced from music during destruction of Lithone and Autobot city battle?
For anyone interested, the Autobot City battle music is Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) by Iron Maiden.
History of Japanese TF, I love it! Unfortunately, without the Transformers Zone( Only two episodes)
zheng zhang Just one, I think.
+RodConvoy1987 wow. not seen you in a while :p
i mean i hzave not seen you since your season 5 openings
yup
i mean i have not seen you upload since them. and i thought your project was a good idea, i once tryed to start my own season 4
Nice video. I love transformer japanese version
Hasbro = USA
Takara Tomy = Japan
*7:27** THAT'S THE SAME JAPANESE TEXT FOR THE ''CAUTION VIDEO'' LOGO! (you even see that ''Caution Video'' text at the back of this tape's case.)*
You’re a hero!
jordan callaghan you mean the music around the 1:30 mark?
That is the movie's Transformers theme from the group Lion
why am i just now finding out about this channel i am subricing and so should the rest of you tf fans out there
The kid in the Japanese commercial sounds like Daniel Witwicky speaking Japanese
btw in the movie promo, anypne know the theme thyat plays when unicron first apears and allso the theme inside the autobot shutle

and i have re insterted most of the music into the film :P
II & III have an almost identical soundtrack...unless The Search for Spock had some extra stuff that The Wrath of Khan didn't...
i got my tracks from the somewhat recent release of the soundtracks, it contained original conceptual tracks and demos and alternate themes
this part of trailer is so creepy and really horror more them really film 15:26
For this movie to have released in JP in 1989, just a year before the Brave series began thanks to TF’s popularity dying out… talk about a delay.
Actually it's an Laser Disc to VHS transfer.
Too bad the only thing good about Headmasters was the opening sequence. It went down hill from there.
Yeah everything about the Japanese Headmasters was silly and terrible.
Including the bad English Dub from Hong Kong
Why again didn't TFTM show in Japan until 1989?
+RodConvoy1987 Unknown, but it made for some awkward moments during the Japanese TF: Masterforce series, in which Wheeljack was alive and well, appearing in several episodes....
+CapeMike Actually, I think Wheeljack (and Perceptor and Minerva from Masterforce) appeared in 1 or 2 Victory eps.
I'll have to go back and look...my memory's hazy, but I have the Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory multi-DVD release...great excuse to watch it again! :D
+CapeMike Yeah, I have that too. Only watched through it once.

CRYY FORR ZA MOOON
Turansuformoo the movie milkshake.
+Omega cam studios (OCS) "Rebirth" maybe? Try to look it up. I'm not sure if it's the one.
+Cman 1O1 Dalek (OCS) unseen? nope. it was released in 88 in the us UK and australia (the dub)

Edgy? It’s far more cheese than anything.

sol jwf Get on as many lost media forums as possible!
@@gamersinacontainer It does not exist
It sounded much better with the orchestrated music than the rock N Roll songs in the final version
Megatron and Devastator for the win!!! I've always hated the Autbots! Hated!!!!!
