Got these for my grandma for Mother’s Day. They all went off by themselves a few nights ago. Thankfully they shut off after a few minutes but they’re brand new!!! They shouldn’t be malfunctioning already.
This happened to us as well - we've had ours for maybe 6 months. Ridiculous. Plus try figuring out how to reset them after it happens - especially if you have a sealed battery... False alarm and now one of them is not connecting to the rest. Way too glitchy for something this important.
I only have one device. After searching for other devices which i dont have then i pressed the button again and it said, set up complete no other devices found. Is that it? Doesnt have to glow green? It doesnt glow any color
Ours has gone of for the first time today.. unprovoked we believe But one alarm ( 3 in 1) is half green (light on left and right) and then occasionally flashing red. No chirp. Im so confused 😢
What about god damn instructions or a tutorial? I had them installed and it went off last night and by sheer luck I picked, I guess, the primary one in the basement to unscrew and clicked on the giant button. It said, previous smoke detected. No smoke, brand new alarm, 2:00 AM and no basic easy to use instructions on the device and when pressing the giant button on the other connected ones NOTHING happens. Imagine how frustrating it would have been if I hadn't been lucky. Fucking engineers. AND I have been searching the Kidde site, TH-cam, the web for tutorials and yours is the ONLY video that comes up and it's the wrong model. Not your fault. I can't wait to call the company this morning.
This happened to us just now. 11:00 at night - crazy stressful to have it yelling FIRE for no reason. And they're only months old. I still can't figure out how to get the offending unit to reconnect.

There are some models that are defective especially "TrueSense" systems. Called them and got all new replacements from them no issues since.
What if the alarm says, "error see troubleshooting guide." What does that mean ?

Go with BRK. When they go off they literally tell you which smoke detector is going off and where its located. Kidde is shit.
