Going to be a pretty big difference. I came from a Gheenoe Classic into skiffs and the skiffs are better suited for larger bodies of water where you can see some chop. Not sure about the rough water performance of the Caicos but it should be pretty good and much better than a gheenoe. You will also quickly notice a big boost in your onboard storage capacity and you ability to keep most gear protected under decks. My Classic had a decked front but it wasn't super awesome protection from water.... I imagine the Caicos is going to be better. I've done some 100+ mile trips on my gheenoe and my skiffs on my channel if you want to check em out and follow my transition from a gheenoe to a skiff.
As Trip mentioned, it's a huge difference. I have fished extensively out of many various Gheenoe models, and it's just a whole differently league. The Caicos is vacuum infused full carbon construction vs a chopper gun built Gheenoe. Quality alone is far superior to any Gheenoe. But not only that, the Caicos is fine tuned by one of the best skiff designers of our time. Mel Walker hand crafts all his designs and spends many hours of sea trials making sure he is getting the most of his designs. This particular skiff has 12 degrees of deadrise at the front bulkhead, so it will cut into a chop like a knife. He lowered the forward chines to keep them below the water level to make it dead silent on pole. The deadrise tapers off towards the stern to allow you float in mere inches. This is a finely crafted tool, whereas Gheenoe's are moreso a means to get on the water. Sure, they have evolved throughout the years, but at the end of the day they are still a canoe. Like I stated before, I have owned a 13 Lowsider, 15'4 Highsider, and a Classic. As well as spent many days out on the LT25 as some of my closest friends owned LT's. But once we made the jump to Ankona boats, we haven't looked back. Not to knock a Gheenoe, I've had some great times on them throughout the years.

How does this compare to say a lowtide25 gheenoe?
