Special Golden Hour Moments of Life Portrait and Real Estate and Bumblebee Photography. I think i nailed it. But seriously this is something I'm struggling with because I'm starting in real estate photography but would like to branch out in the future to commercial, architecture and design. I've hated every name except Ryan's Home Photography but it kinda limits things in the future. I dunno i guess i could just get started and see where it all leads.
Hi Steve! So happy I’ve found your channel!! You’re videos have been so helpful. I’m returning to photography after having kids. I’ve always liked to be different in almost everything I do and came up with a different name for my photography business by using the first 3 letters of my kids names “Harcam Photography” but I went and had a third kid and feel he should be included. His name is Travis and was playing around with letters. Only name I could come up with Harcam Visuals 🤷🏼♀️ but I’m not sure if that sounds naf! Can’t use my real name as there’s already a lot of other me’s out there 😅
This is a tricky one. I get that you feel you should include Travis somehow, but you also want your company name to be memorable and to say what you do. The word "visuals" might be a little vague to people who are looking for a photographer. But it also does give you room to expand to anything under the visual umbrella, like video, design etc. I guess it depends if you plan on sticking to just photography long-term. I don't think that name sounds naff at all, but maybe ask friends and family what comes to mind when they hear the word "visuals."
@@SteveGerrardPhotography Thank you! Yeah I was thinking that when people see the word “visuals” what would they think? I’ll spend some more time playing around with letters more and will ask friends and family their thoughts. Thank you again ☺️
All 3 of my names are super common so no matter how much i tried any combination would not work and was taken by both amateur and semi pro photographers. So starting my business im using I0 bot photography but it'll likely be changed
This video is great! My photography business is capturedinteractions. My first name is Eleana which people tend spell incorrectly and have difficulty pronouncing. Also I thought in the future I might want a team…
Hi Steve. Thank you for a great video. I had in mid to call my business " Cathrine Olsen Photography" but that name is already taken, Haha.... go figure, apparently there are droves of me out there. I am wanting to get into Celebrity shoots and music event photography but I am also interested in bird photography and cars. Not sure on what path I am steering but I also thought of the name " WorldImage Photography". Any thoughts?
Honestly why not just WorldImage? Easy to remember and definitely sounds professional. Also allows you to explore different avenues of photography before you focus (pun intended) on something more specific. Good luck!
Hi Steve, thanks for the video, it was quite insightful. My photography business is called Pistis Photography. Coined this name because of the meaning of the word Pistis and how it represents myself as an individual. I’m still exploring different types of photography styles at this early stage so I’m not sure what I’ll focus on.. with time of course. I’d love to hear your opinion of my business name 😃
Great video. I struggled with this a lot at first, but have considered again if I should change my brand name. I live in the Ozarks so I went with Ozark's Digital Creations. However, now that I am transitioning to shooting Boudoir I feel that the name doesn't scream boudoir business.
I don't think it's a bad name but agree it doesn't fit with boudoir very well. I also think the word digital makes it sound dated as hardly any photographers are non-digital these days and the ones that still shoot film are often very high end.
@@SteveGerrardPhotography Thank you. The first thing I did today after seeing your reply was search some name ideas to see if they registered and created a new LLC in my state as Boudoir by Holland using my last name where I can keep this business name for my portraits and headshots.
Would love your insight. I’m wanting to branch out to other types of photography (lifestyle, family, senior photo shoots). I would like to use my Name for a separate portfolio/social media. Of course everything I looked up is so common so not sure what sounds easy and professional: Amy Marshall Photography, Amy K Marshall Photography, AM Photography, Amy M Photography, AKM Photography…thoughts?
@@preciouspetphotography4966 Then I'd stick with Amy Marshall Photography. When I search, I only find an Amy Marshall Photographie in France so that's not too confusing. And the .com is also available :)
I think it's nicely vague to anyone who doesn't know about photography composition. Personally I would have chosen "photography" over "photographic". I think it's easier to remember but that's maybe just personal taste.
Great video! My problem is that I do go by my name: Amber Rexford Photography. However, I shoot family/couple portraits, sports, and Landscapes and I really don't want to mix all these different gengres on my instagram and website so do I need to come up with different business names per genre?
I think mixing portraits and sports might be ok cos it's all "people photography" but maybe have a separate IG called Amber Rexford Landscapes or something like that. On my Instagram, I mix portraits, weddings and music as I consider myself a people photographer. It's rare I post an image without a person in it.
@@SteveGerrardPhotography so could Amber Rexford Landscapes still be under the same business license then or would I need to get an LLC and have multiple DBAs?
Hi !! If i may, i would like your comment on : "MadZèle" .. (the name i think for my business) im from quebec so it will be read in french mostly, but i still want english people able to say it. would it be better if i had 'photography' ? In my logo there's the square of the golden ratio intertwine with the letter Z, it may help to know what the name's for. What do you think ? maybe people will cut it saying 'madz' ... but if it the case, isnt to cliché ? Thanks for any advice !! :D p.s my last concert photo was awesome thanks to you !!!
Hi Carol-Ann. I'm also in Quebec and I think MadZele is a pretty cool name but the word means nothing to me as an English speaker. Not sure if that really matters though.
I wanted to go with my name however my first, middle and last are always mispronounced and misspelled... I literally feel like I can't find anything I actually like.

@@amberrexford1004 That depends on the country you live in but usually you can put different names under one umbrella if it's all photography.
