It's not just music, it's the story that let me to feel me inside soldier skin. Absolutely masterpiece!
I saw them live two weeks ago in Germany. I was in the first row and the vocalist came off stage and screamed the lyrics right into my face and then he went into the crowd and opened up his own moshpit while still singing. This was such an amazing experience. You need so them live once they come to North America!!

The voice over at the beginning of the song is from All Quiet On The Western Front (1930's i think film). It is the monolog of Paul Bäumer a german solider that kills a French soldier that jumps in his fox hole and is pinned down and has to spend a lot of time in there with the dead man. Such a perfect opening to an AMAZING freaking song. You should watch that movie so impactful imho

I saw a Reddit comment that claims that the "bombed last night" lyrics are from a movie called "oh what a lovely war".
That is correct, that was discussed in an interview we did on this channel with the bands singer
@@QWERTY-of8qh It's not just those lyrics its pretty much the entire song it's just a metal rendition of what was originally an acapella song for a parody about WWII I believe the Shot Last night final verse is their own addition but Bombed, and Gassed lyrics are word for word from that movie.
Ukraine black metal has this amazing ability to make such addictive repetition. They don't need huge solos or technical riffs. Check out Raventale if you love 1914.
And they dont need this hail Satan/Baphomet bullshit. This goes much deeper so it is on the most Bands from Ukraine Poland or Russia and I realy enjoy this styles of Lyrics especialy from mgla.

Heard about this album from Infidelamsterdam's "best of 2018" and ended up buying ww1 books after listening to it for a while, and I've never been a big book guy. Very impactful album indeed!

Unfortunately this band isn't very popular in our country...people likes sheet as Verka Serduchka,Poplavskiy and Mozgi or Potap etc.
I am most likely a fair bit older than the usual fan base, but this music video always brings literal tears to my eyes.
The honor(?) to fight for your country, for essentially a disagreement of two people with questionable decisions. Our, or their political leaders.
So the countrymen from far between involved are literally forced to do the bloodshed fighting for their arguments. It is disgraceful.
We have come a long way since then, but this will not be forgotten, nor should it be forgotten.
It was a very confrontational time in our history.
Lest their souls on both sides rest in peace.
They both thought they were doing the right thing.
They have another album called eschatology of war
Of course SAbaton sounds more happy than 1914. They're playing Power Metal, 1914 do Black Metal, so of course it does not sound happy at all.

Great reaction! You showed me a Ukrainian band I've never heard of - and I was born in Ukraine >_< ...feeling kinda awkward...
I have a small personal reaction request to you. There is a Ukrainian band called Motanka, that resently signed a recording contract with Napalm Records and they sing in their mother language Ukrainian. Since they're new and they're singing in Ukrainian there aren't many people who would listen to their music - even though it's very high quality music. Would you please react to Motanka - Verba, so more people would learn about this band? Some explanations: "Verba" is a song about Holodomor and repressions from USSR towards Ukrainians (officially arround 10 million people were killed by the Soviet regime, but true numbers are unknown). For me this song is extremly emotional since I understand the language and know the true story behind the song so I almost cry every time when I listen to it - especially when I watch the official video.
Like I already mentioned, it is a selfish and personal request, but it would mean a lot to me if you would react to Motanka - Verba. If you won't make a reaction to this video, that would be fine with me too. It just seams to suit your range perfectly since you reacted to a few Ukrainian bands (like Jinger and Ignea).

Funny enough, because of this song we ended up watching that movie. My son mentioned the movie to me and we watched it.

I listened to the whole album yesterday. It is soooo good.
I just got into black and death metal about 1-2 month ago after 15 years mainly listening to heavy and power metal but I'm really warming up to harsh vocals.
Check out Sulphur Aeon - The Scythe Of Cosmic Chaos. Great album from last year. Best of the both worlds(black and death metal) imo.
