Is Fast Lane Plus worth it at Cedar Point?

- Fast Lane Plus at Cedar Point is very expensive. You pay anywhere from $125.00 to $175.00 for the privilege of cutting the majority of the line and get to the front before most of the crowd.
Last year, during the height of the pandemic, there was no Fast Lane access at all, but throughout this year Fast Lane has returned. But one of the most frequent questions I am asked is "is it worth it?"
I can't decide that for you, but I can show you the way Fast Lane Plus Works and how much I can do with it. So... that's what I'm gonna do.
In this video, I compare and contrast how fast I was able to complete every ride on a (very busy) Tuesday without Fast Lane Plus vs. how fast I was able to complete every ride on a weekend with Fast Lane Plus.
Along the way we discuss tips and tricks for getting the most out of your Cedar Point experiences!

I've done Fast Lane Plus and I think it's worth it. It saves a lot of time and allows you to experience more. It's probably my favorite skip-the-line system I've done.
How many rides do you normally go on when you have FLP? And what experiences are you referring to?
I think 6 flags platinum flash pass is better than fast lane + from cedar fair...ImO you literally have no wait at all.

i bought fast lane plus last weekend and gatekeeper and dragster were open! it was so worth it we waited no more than 20 minutes for every ride including steel vengeance

I went July18th ...fast lane plus was kinda terrible that day...and usually it's so worth it!...I Waited an hour for Steel Vengeance the first time..and 35 minutes the 2nd time...waited 30min for valravn and Maverick..whenever I go I wait no more than 15 to 20min tops for every ride I just named...so they definitely were doing something wrong LOL

Here today. Dragster was down twice. Was on it and they took me off of it and gave me a fast pass.

Fast Lane is absolutely worth it! I just left Cedar Point July 15th and I purchased a Fast Lane Plus with it I waited 30 minutes to 1 hour on Steel Vengeance, Millennium Force, Maverick, Rougarou, ValRavn etc without Fast Lane Plus you're waiting 2 hours plus! I live about 5.5 hours from Cedar Point and I can only visit once a year during my vacation I'm not trying to ruin my trip by wasting it waiting in line only riding 4 rides a day when I can ride 12 rides or more with a Fast Lane Plus.
Those seem like long waits especially for a weekday? I went that same week except on Saturday the 17th. With Fast Lane Plus I got 2 rides in on maverick back to back under 15-20 minutes the first one there was literally like 7 people in front of us In fast lane plus. The longest wait of day was Vengance and that was was half an hour one time next ride was 20 minutes only. Wicked twister was less than 5, Valraven was 15 minutes, Magnum xl 200 was a walk on got lucky broke down lots of people left line we waited few minutes and got on when they resumed operations. I marathoned Top Thrill we road it 3 times back to back to back almost no line with fast lane plus.
That’s horrible for fast lane on a weekday🤬

About a year late. My first time buying fast lane plus with my friends and I for my 21st birthday. Been going since I was a toddler. Thanks for the informational video. I’m so glad I purchased the tickets. I can see they’re definitely worth it. Going this Saturday! :)

Definitely. You don’t always need fast lane for cedar point. And not everyone will always find it particularly helpful. But it does make the waits much faster and nicer. Is it worth the price though? That depends on you, your vacation and how many days you have to devote for riding rides. :)
We have one day. Going on a Friday the weekend after opening weekend in May 2022. Do u think we will need fast lane plus as it's before june and on a weekday?

I love hitting up the CP Saloon Bars. Love the air conditioning, coldest beers at the park. It's crazy that they were built in the 60's I think because they feel like they were there since pre WWI

I'm going Monday-Wednesday, but for the life of me, can't get myself to buy fast lane LMAO! I know it does really help on the busy days, maybe if I had to go on a weekend it would help/make a huge, noticeable difference. Thanks for the constant Cedar Point videos, it helps me plan my trips way better
I certainly don’t think it’s worth it for everyone all the time. But if you’re there on a busy day, it might be very worthwhile.
I could never go again without using fast lane, no matter what day.
just my opinion, the fast lane is great for weekdays or weekends. I bought Fastlane in 2018 went during the weekday every Fastlane line except millennium I waited for half-hour, steel vengeance was down for the day.
@@notyournormalg1 When I go, if I realize it would've been better with a fast pass, I'm going to spend the extra bucks for one on the next trip! I know weekdays this year have been pretty busy too, I don't blame people for going though. Everyone has been cooped up and waiting for things to go back to normal/safe enough conditions. :)

Depends on the weather and crowd size and how often you visit the park.
I have All Parks FLP tho, bought October 2019. That’s definitely worth the cost, especially last year with Access Passes.

Bought my fast lane plus ticket a month ago for this Sunday and it was $123. Just looked at the price and it's up to $169 for the FL+. Hopefully the lines won't be too bad lol

Fast lane is NOT worth it this year! The fast lane lines for all the big coasters are 20 minutes or longer every single day the park is open now. That is completely unacceptable because the whole point of fast lane is to SKIP the ENTIRE line without having to wait at least more than 15 minutes each time. Way too many people have bought it this year, making the fast lane lines way longer than they have ever been every day this year. There should be a reservation system for it, so there could only be a limited amount of people who have it each day so the fast lane lines could be empty each day the park is open. I hope they raise the price of platinum fast lane for 2022 to at least $1,500.

We have been to CP several times both this year and last year and I have yet to ride Steel Vengeance due to the wait - finally going to ride on Thursday with the fast lane plus. I can’t wait!

When The Raptor first opened in 1994. I had to wait in line 8 hrs and the line was much longer still. Most rides I've had to wait a few hrs. So 30-45 minutes was always super fast for me. One time I rode the Blue Streak 20 times in a row lol because nobody was in line so why not.
RIP Dragster. Thanks for the Point Plaza tip. I've got my fast lane plus pass for the end of the month and would've stood at the entrance like a moron in that long line.

When you hit up Kings Island, one big difference you'll see with FastLane is how the wristbands are visually. You'd think they'd be similar on the visual side, but nope!

It’s my best friend’s first time ever going to cedar point so I figured why not take him along and buy him the pass as well 😏 Weather’s looking to be beautiful, but hopefully the lines aren’t too bad for fast lane. @@notyournormalg1 i recommend it for a saturday and maybe sunday. the lines were very long last weekend and we got fast lane plus on saturday and no fast lane sunday. we got on every ride multiple times on saturday. on sunday we got on two rides (dragster and millennium) and we were in the park for four hours then left because we needed to drive five hours home. i dont see the point in regular fast lane because it doesnt cover the main rides you go there for. also since you will be there for three days i dont think you will need the fast lane pass to do every ride and some rides more than once
It's absolutely must have on any weekend and many summer days that aren't weekends too, honestly.
I'm not waiting 30-45 actual minutes in line for a roller coaster... no thanks.
Totally worth it. With the regular fast pass it doesn't come with Millennium Force, Steel Vengeance, Top Thrill, Maverick, and Valravn

Gor my money, the pass does not make sense. We go there often enough that if the line is too long on one ride. We find something else that we want to ride. And on days we go, the Fast Pass seems to only save a short period of time. But i understand that every day is different, and your priorities may be different.
Agreed. If you go frequently you definitely don’t need it. You could go every week and ride one ride and it wouldn’t make a difference in that case! So, if someone has the gold or platinum passes (and all of their party does also) it is unnecesaary.

The key to Gemini is just going in when you get up to the gate, if you wait for the employee to see you and come across it’ll take forever. We just open it up and go in.

8:35 Protip: If you buy Fast Lane Plus, I would be strategic in your day specifically knowing which rides actually even honor Fast Lane.
You don't want to waste precious time with your expensive Fast Lane Plus wristband waiting in lines for rides like Iron Dragon, Super Himalaya, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Matterhorn, Troika, or Snake River Expedition---example of rides where there is NO Fast Lane used.
P.S. As of July 29th, Fast Lane Plus just jumped their prices again to $225 now.

Those prices need to be $300 or $400 or they need to limit the numbers of rides on fast lane or reduce numbers of fast lane tickets. Fast Lane has forever messed up regular lines.
ITS WORTH IT, just got done for today and had the fast lane plus for the day and let me tell you, i got a steel vengeance 3 times, maverick 4 times, millennium force 4 times, valraven 5 times, raptor 1 time (because it’s mid) and gatekeeper 1 time (also because i there are better rides than gatekeeper in my opinion) but it’s totally worth it and i also went on wednesday (week days are better than weekends)
Got Fast Lane Plus on Monday and it was worth every penny. We got on every big name ride, (I think there’s 9?) for a total of ten rides, riding Rougarou twice. Only complaint is that on Monday the app wasn’t completely accurate on wait times and we ended up waiting 45 minutes in the FLP line for SteVe when the posted time for the normal line was 75 minutes.

10 rides using the FLP? I get it on at least 12 rides when I go there, and I do not get FLP. Getting on Rougarou twice is not that impressive. Getting on SV and Maverick twice in one day is impressive when you don't use FLP.
@@TommonSensePro well I didn't have Fast Lane in 2022 and I got on SV 14 times and Maverick 7 times in one night, plus millie 3 times and all the other top coasters twice plus used both meal plan meals and spent time eating, and the park was only open 6pm-12am for the entire day, granted it was a Halloweekend Thursday and I had platinum early entry so got an early ride on millie and valravn. 2 rides each on raptor, rougarou, gatekeeper, valravn, magnum. Corkscrew and Gemini were down for the season. Plus I did 2 haunted mazes and 1 haunted house the same night and also saw a haunted play at the glassblowing theater.
@@jandrew1994 I also had great success with going on Thursday and Friday on Halloweekends, the first ones, this year and last year. And also, Corkscrew and Gemini weren't down for the season. They just don't operate on Thursday and Fridays during Halloweekends.
I was there on the 4th of July and had fast pass plus and had to wait 1 hour 30 minutes
I would like to see cedar point make changes to fast lane plus so that the fast lane and regular lane move faster.
Hey you were like 3 or 4 people in front of me in the Gemini fast lane line! Caught a small glimpse! I would agree the Gemini fast lane line was probably the worst one we waited in that day which is kind of sad.
Last time I went, I noticed that Gemini said “no fast lane available” which I found interesting.

So I went to cedar point with fast lane plus on July 19 th and kings island on July 20th I was able to ride all the rides at both parks im from Maryland and it was definitely worth every penny IMHO plus when I went to cedar point the lines weren't busy because it was raining a little which was even better millinium force over lake Erie to the left was a amazing experience also 😀
Looks like Gate Keeper is down again today, Sunday July 25. Watching from Power Tower East. I'm hesitant to travel 7-8 hours if this coaster is down all the time. You never know. Undependable.
It was down because the lift chain broke a couple weeks back. It is back up and running regularly now.

You probably won’t have to worry about wicked twister for much longer. It has apparently been on the chopping block for quite some time.
That’s the rumor, but I don’t know that I believe it. :) for now, it’s fun. Terrifying and it makes me sick, but it’s fun!
Every time we go to cedar point we have FLP. I wouldn't go without it. Not a fan of waiting in line. Did you ever try the frozen lemonade with titos vodka in it at last chance saloon yet? its delicious.

If you’re coming for only one day, you wanna hit all the rollerCoasters AND all the haunted houses / areas, then yes. :)
It won’t be possible to do both haunted areas and rollercoasters in one day.
The Fright Lane (haunted house version of Fast Lane) is worth the money too.... but just know that they will give you a card and each house "punches" it when you use it and you are SUPPOSED to only be able to use it once per haunted house (unless they change it for this year).
Hey there! Loved your video! Very helpful! I’m going to cedar point in august, late season and midweek! I’m definitely going to buy fast lane plus! It’s a 5 hour drive and I am not sure if I’m gonna be back anytime soon! So it will be only one day! I’ll have early entry, so my day is from 9 to 8! Entry for main gate, What is a good itinerary of coasters? We don’t have wicked anymore or too thrill dragster for this season so that makes two less roller coasters! Im watching a lot of videos and a lot of them have mixed itineraries! I was planning to ride maverick, Millie a couple of times before opening to general public and then hit steve by 10 so I don’t get hit by the crowd! After that trying to hit Gemini, magnum, corkscrew and iron dragon since ID don’t accept fast lane. Trying to see what lanes are bigger and whatnot of course, the. Head to the front of the park and hit gatekeeper, valravn, etc. maybe try Steve again when is lunch time; hit some flat rides, then go for coasters again! I’m not interested in the shows but I would like to not run so much during the day haha what do you think? Any tips for a first timer at cedar point? What do you think the crown would be at that time of the season?

always do the top coasters much later in the day, we can knock out the park in under 6 hours.

I just went on Yukon striker 5 times a week ago at Canadas wonderland and I literally waited 10 minutes without fast lane each time during the middle of the day!! WHY does Valravn have a 90 minute wait!!!!

Iron Dragon doesn’t do Fast Lane. Or Snake River Expedition
Because this is my home park fast pass will never be worth it. If I want to go to Cedar Point I'll just hop in my car after work and go. Shortest line I ever had was on a Thursday night where I only waited 30 minutes for most rides. Steel Vengeance was an hour but that still isn't bad.
Living close by, there’s no need for fast lane. I completely agree with you. If you have a pass and can go two times or more a year, just buy the pass and whatever you can’t ride one day, ride the next day.
The Wicked Twister heard you hated it for years lOl and decided as of September they will let you win as the retired at Cedar Point .
I went yesterday with my friend got on every coaster except for Twister (not a coaster in my book), Pipe scream (same as twister in my book), Maverick, Corkscrew, and Dragster. No fast passes at all. We hit all of those by 8:40 pm!!
Am I the only one who is sad about Wicked Twister and when its getting removed
I am not particularly sad, other than that it marks a bit of the end of an era, but a lot of people comment that they are sad.
I think cedar point might have some incredible things planned to replace it, so I’m excited for the future. :).
But, of course different people like different things, and it’s completely fine to be sad about this. ❤️

There’s Always an idiot asking unnecessary questions at the parking gate. Most questions can be answered on the website before you arrive.

There are no boarding passes anymore, thank goodness. Fast Lane can be worth it for the right people and situations, but it can also be extremely expensive.
It is probably most worthwhile right now. Cedar Point over the weekends is VERY packed. So... you're gonna spend a lot of money, but that might be worth it to skip a couple 2 hour lines.

My wife and I are considering buying the season FLP, the price is $950.00 per person. We have never used the Fast Lane at CP (daily or season) in the past. Do you feel the season FLP is worth it at $950 per person? We go to CP about 18 to 19 times during the year.
That can be answered so many ways. Lol.
I don’t love the all season fast lane because i think it’s such a high price, but I also don’t love FLP for its high price.
When you consider more than 150 dollars per visit for regular FLP, then just 6 visits would Make it worthwhile.
I think cedar point has the worst of all the fast lane rides (because many of them have a very early meeting point). But, it’s pretty undeniable, the positive impact FLP can have on a vacation.
I would prefer to spend less up front and have more time to do other things at the park, but I also have friends who have FLP and love it.
I think, objectively, it’s worth the price for the FLP price that cedar point offers.
That doesn’t mean I think the base price is worth it overall, but that’s not up to me! 😂
If it’s worth it to you, then I think you should definitely get it!
FYI the fast passes on the weekends are over 200 bucks now... No way that can be worth it right??
I just give the examples of what can happen if you get them. It’s up to you to make the decision. I mean, if you don’t have a pass that is possibly more than a 350 dollar day. 🤷♂️

I will be traveling there later in August. Can't wait! Will be going on a Friday and Saturday... leaning towards pass for Friday and skipping Saturday. Almost 80 dollar difference between those days lol
The price increases have made the FL+ lines shorter, so you potentially getting more value. The increases also make the all season an even better deal.

What’s the difference between normal fast lane and fast lane plus?
Fast lane gives you access to fewer rides. It doesn’t include the “top 4”: millennium, steel vengeance, valravn and maverick are only included in fast lane plus.
With fast lane plus do you need the ticket reservations for rides like millennium force and steel vengeance or no!?
There is no ticket reservation system either for the parks or for individual rides anymore.

@@rach4667 I would say it’s very possible, but it’s not easy. You’ll have to work to go to the shortest lines first.

Now... if you just want to hit every rollercoaster? It’s a very possibility. ;). If you wanna hit everyone AND repeat a few, then it’s gonna take longer and more structure to your days.

This June will be my first time at an american amusement park and I'm considering buying a Golden Pass with All Cedar Fair Parks add-on, since I'm also going to King's Dominion and King's Island (instead of buying a ticket for each park and each day). With a Golden Pass can I go to CP three days in a row? About the all parks add-on, I hope I can go to the other parks multiple times as well. Last, but no least, do you know if foreigners can have a Pass even though I'll only use it for a week?

It depends on what pass you’re looking for.
You can definitely buy a gold pass. And if you’re gonna be there for more than two days, then it’s already worth it.

If you get fast lane, does it work right at ten or do you have to wait an hour or two before fast lane lines start? Also, I know you buy it at the park but if you buy it online, do you still have to wait in the line where you purchase them at the front of the park to check in, or do you do it when you check your daily admission tickets in?
Yes. You’ll have to turn in your fast lane ticket for a wrist band. Either in front of the park or at the several places in the park.

At 10 the fast lane lines will open.

I know it’s been open recently and then it closed again. I’m not sure if it’s reopened since or not.

@@notyournormalg1 I was there Thursday. They were testing it all day. Before we left, there was a car parked on the lift hill, so it may still be in test mode on Sunday.

Depends on how often you come and what you want to do. I would say it’s always worth a visit to Sandusky, but I go all the time.
You will have less opportunity to do some of the rides, but if you’re happy going to a show, eating or getting a drink at that time, the yes.... it’s worth it. :)

@@jefflarkin3113 it would help you get on the rides faster before the rain comes, so... I guess it depends on how much you want to ride and how long you have before/after the rain falls.
There fast lane plus in my opinion is NOT worth it because you will still be waiting in line and Cedar Point is selling out too many of fast lane plus wristbands, people paying $115.00 or more and they are still waiting in line and that's pointless. Prices may vary depending on a day you go and it can be a ripoff. I'm not going Cedar point until they find some improvements to their fast lane.
I’m not here to disagree with you. But here’s the deal… people keep paying for it. And as long as the market is there for it, they can charge whatever they like for it. Kinda sucks, but I don’t see it changing any time soon.

@@notyournormalg1 did you know Kings Island, Dorney Park, Carowinds, and Kings Dominion no longer have the PLUS. All rides at those parks are now on FAST LANE. This may happen to Cedar Point in the future. Proof is that less people will be using the system, less people in fast lines and no waiting in fast lines just walk right on instantly.
I could have made this in one minute. Yes, it is. I went this past weekend. Gen admission line for steel Vengeance got up to 3 hours..... I rode it twice and waited 15 min for tbe first and 20 for the second. Top Thrill once in 20 min. Magnum twice in 15 each. Maverick twice in 20. Gatekeeper in 15. Raptor in 30. Wicked twister in 20. Rougarou in 20. Millennium in 25. I forget the rest. All of these rides had a general admission line of at least an hour, and I didn't wait anywhere close to that long. 100% worth it. I wouldn't even go to the park without fast plus
Do you know if the express hotel can use the resort lane?
There isn’t a resort lane for rides.
Now, if you’re talking about the Magnum entrance, express hotel cannot enter through the magnum entrance, they are relegated to the front entrance with everyone else. :)
