I have a backup camera, so I use this setup as a forward facing camera. I just mounted the "backup" camera where Jeep would normally include a front facing camera. Now I can glance up at the mirror and see the front view. I have a Tazer which allows me to configure the factory rear view camera to be on continuously. I use it mostly when towing the SXS.
You missed a part where you forgot to add sample videos from the Dashcam 😄, it would be really nice if you could add sample videos too in your future videos so that we get an idea of how the Dashcam performs during the day and night time.
I just connected mine on my jeep. Followed your instructions and works. I have not connected the red cable that is that the end with the camera. Everything works good, but I noticed that my start/stop is not working. I'm wondering why my start/stop is not working. Could it be the way the power is connected on the fuse box?
If you press the record button it will record it until you end it. Those options are just the interval that you can select for the monitor recording that happens when you drive.
I have had those on all my vehicles, since I started driving so like 20 years, but recently I removed them because my jeep gets too much attention with the wrap.
@LawDawg717 that's not the case at all, don't really break the do anything crazy. Also the covers I had you could see the number anyways. ALSO when I first started using them it was to protect the tag damage because at that time the tag would peel. But again with NYC recent enforcement of covers I removed them.
I followed the video for the fuses. I’m getting no power to the mirror. I used the same fuses. I use the cigarette outlet cord and the mirror worked. Still confused on what to do…?
If you're using the same fuse you need to make sure that the car is on for it to work. Does your jeep have heated seats? Cause you might have to have that to make it work.
@@evolvedjeepin yes, the car was on. I do have heated seats. I’m starting to think I was given faulty wires. Did you put the extra fuse into the adapter plug in from the hard wire set? I remember when installing the aux switch from auxbeam, I put the extra fuse in the adapter and then it worked. Not in my case with this one
Nothing, I have the Accuair Dynamic Lift Kit, which is an adjustable air suspension system and I have the back aired down. Check out some of my other videos.
@@evolvedjeepin oh man I was worried that they blew or you were doing that Carolina Squat thing. Good to know it was just showing off that feature. I have looked at converting to air ride…will take a look at the other videos.
@@adamrickett3305 the one from Amazon comes with a ball kit and an arm, but I am not sure if the ball kit will fit the jeep stock arm. I don't think it does, I'll check tonight or tomorrow and let you know.
A matte screen cover will make the display blurry. It's a dilemma i'm facing right now. keep it and not be so annoyed with the glare or remove it and adjust my mirror angle constantly depending on the time of day. Also when you get glare on the matte screen, it will make it more unviewable. So unfortunately, there is no one best solution. I am also looking into a mild polarizer to put on the lens because the glare at night from other vehicle lights can get annoying. I actually moved my camera to the top to reduce the glare which has helped but still not the best. Best of luck to your build.
Best video out there covering the Wolfbox rearview mirrors.

I gived you like and then I continued watch . Because good intro and good begin
Thank you
Ĝps works fine on the windshield hidden behind the mirror
It would be nice if the company would make the mirror connection via a single usb to both power the mirror and connect the camera.
Agreed!
Good video. Thanks for sharing. I am planning to get one for my van.
So theres 1 big 15amp fuse wire 2 small 15amp fuse wires and 1 tiny 15amp fuse wire which 2 am i suppose to use for power and acc wires
I am not sure which one I used. I think I used the only one that would work with the jeep fuses.
@@evolvedjeepin basically as long as the fuses match should be good?

I actually have an update coming soon.
Have you ever thought to mount the rear view camera to the front of the bumper as a front trail camera
I guess you could, but if I wanted a front mounted camera I would just add one to my radio.
After seeing this video I am actually leaning more towards the Brandmotion FullVUE video mirror...

Possible you might have to use a different fuse for your jeep.
That sounds like a good problem. Start/stop sucks.
Do the sun shades hit the mirror when you flip them down?
Yes they actually do hit depending on the angle you have the screen at. It's not a big deal for me.
You need to get the g930 as it’s 10” like the OEM the 900 and below are 12” so the visors will hit the mirror
Is the only front record time options 1,2,and 5 minutes? Can't it record continuously for a couple of hours at one time?
If you press the record button it will record it until you end it. Those options are just the interval that you can select for the monitor recording that happens when you drive.
Why have a tinted tag cover?
I have had those on all my vehicles, since I started driving so like 20 years, but recently I removed them because my jeep gets too much attention with the wrap.
And I have had them on my cars cause I have never liked the blue lettering on Ontario plates.
@@evolvedjeepin Comon', dude. Just man up and say it. You don't want people to be able to read your tag when you drive in ways you shouldn't.

Which reference for the backplate (bracket) and adaptor to the windscreen? Seen at 8"37
Thx
Check my links in the description, but beware the bracket I used was not perfect, I had to customize it a bit.
Thank you for your quick answer, Amazing! Yes I Saw all Links just After m'y post 😊
what was wrong with the factory JL Rear Camera?
Nothing, this mirror doesn't use the factory reverse camera it needs its own one to capture the image from.bwhind the jeep.

@@Coolkraus117 Yeah there should be two fuses in the adapter that goes into the fuse box.

The power button would be very useful when a big truck with bright leds gets on your tail at night. Be nicer if it was automated but one can dream.
What are the part numbers for the balls and back plate?
The link for the ball joint is in the video description, for the bracket buy this one, it a perfect fit for the Wolfbox mirror. amzn.to/3y92R3q

So, you definitely need the universal ball joint, because the one that comes with the bracket is too small for the stock arm.
hi beside price which wolfbox system would you recommend
I have only tried the G840s so I am not sure how the other models are.
Does the backup camera still work on the radio?
Yes, there are now two cameras on the back of the jeep, the stock one for the reverse camera in the radio and one for the mirror.
Do you get any vibration in the rear camara? We have ours on top of the 3rd brake light and it a little and makes it hard to see.
Actually I have some things that I am going to be correcting and making another video for and that is one of the things.
Does this work well with limo tint rear windows?
I am not sure, but I can imagine it won't be great with that level of tint.
Does it connect to the phone?
No it does not.
Having a rear view mirror is mandated in all states so that's why all mirror substitutes must also revert to being an old style mirror.
I didn't know that, it now makes sense, thanks for the info.
