@@WrekWarship it's on all versions of The Fragile vinyl (good luck trying to find a '99 copy though), and on the European exclusive "We're In This Together" singles.
the recent years as i tripped to NIN i had this funny idea, that many of trent songs trought the years talk about BDSM and that he is the slave, call me perverted i dont even practice bdsm, but i have never heard this song before and it really sheds a new light to his lyrics... donnu prolly justmy crazy ideas LOL
It sounds a lot to me like he is reflecting on his life in addiction with these lyrics. Like wishing badly to go back to those days, as all addicts do from time to time.
Yeah well he also makes constant allusions to Aliens/Interdimensional Entities as well as a specific being with black eyes & a red mouth, so... Maybe we're not analyzing it enough, who knows.
The CD format had to cut the two songs due to format limitations (data/run time) and has released with this and 10 miles high on initial vinyl release. It is on the album, just not the format you have been listening to.
These two tracks flesh out the right side for me. I always thought the left side was damn near perfect, but I always found the right side to be lacking in comparison.
@@CastroEulis145I agree. The right side has some great songs, but the flow isn’t that cohesive and the ending track doesn’t really seem to sum up the album properly. “The Great Below” should have ended the right side and “La Mer” ending the left side.

I’m hearing 1999 NIN for the first time in 2022. I’m speechless.
I just searched this song after forgetting what it was called, nice to know ppl still finding the fragiles hidden gems
Welcome :)
@@rhodur_ This wasn’t on my copy.
Vinyl only..?
@@taffysaur i meant fragile "era", but this song is on Vinyl / 2017 Definitive Edition and some other comps
Give it to you. You can take it
this is like being up past midnight and getting some water but you're so tired that you jump at random things
2;08 that guitar riff has been in my sub conscious for years amazing how reznor can make riffs that are on such another level.
same here, I here that part all the time.
best part of the song. and the bass.
I have never heard track 21: The New Flesh: Holy shit its amazing.

Glad the definitive edition added 10 Miles High and this one. More of The Fragile is never a bad thing!
More of Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral too😢
Would love to have Appendage on there too tho. Still a cassette exclusive
To bad this wasn't on the 1999 release!
It was, just exclusive to vinyl.

Happy 57th birthday to Trent Reznor!
Clarifying from comments on this being exclusive to the vinyl release, it was on the 1999 and 2000 singles for the album at the time.
Only place I can ever find this. Thank you. It lives in me and soundtracks my life at just the right time.
To my knowledge the only place to get this in physical form is The Fragile: Definitive Edition
@@WrekWarship it's on all versions of The Fragile vinyl (good luck trying to find a '99 copy though), and on the European exclusive "We're In This Together" singles.
dope track. never heard this one before
vinyl exclusive! xD
@@lucasstierle7426 it was also on a CD single for We're in this Together Now pt 3
I heard this in 1999. I found the song randomly in Napster and downloaded the MP3. An awesome rarity.
Feels amazing to listen to, feels cosmic to plug in and shred your guitar along with it.
I wonder if Trent Reznor ever watched Videodrome

Wouldn't be surprising, considering other groups like Skinny Puppy and Front 242 were influenced by it in terms of samples
Hail the new flesh 📼
Loving this revamped 2nd disc this is some spooky shit!
why have i never heard this until today
Damn, I didn't know this was a thing, I thought it was just a small instrumental for the dvd
this is what it feels like to slip into the velvet underground
The FUCK? I owned this double LP and I never have heard this before
It was only on the Vinyl release
Reminds me of Poison's "Look what the cat dragged in".
A classic.
Reminds me of The Shining.
Gives me Radiohead vibes..

I guess I see why this and 10 miles high weren’t on the album, I don’t see them exactly fitting yet
