Oh my God!! These cookies are so beautiful!! Love the look and the decoration added to them. Thank you for these ideas; your tutorials are fantastic and give a clear understanding.
Thanks for sharing! I just tried the crackle effect on some cookies, but was wondering about trying it with a color other than white. You answered my question! 😃
I watched the cookies that ya do the crackle effect to. I thought about the snowglobe cookie ya did. Why not do the crackle effect to the base of snowglobe cookie. It would make it look well played with.
@@LittleCookieCo hope Ya do try it. I have got to try it myself. You have given cool things to do and new things to try. I've gotten set back at moment. Seziures and migraines. Once I'm feeling better, I'm going to try these different techniques. Thanks always for your videos!💜
Wow! Just subscribed to your channel. Loving what I just watched, can't wait to try my hands on it too. Thanks for this lovely tutorial. Greetings from Qatar 🤗
Thank you so much for watching and so happy that you enjoy the videos 😊 very cool that my videos are being viewed all the way in Qatar (I'm Canadian) 🥰
Hi! I have been to Argentina and its beautiful!! I'm not sure if it would work with that, but I thknk you have to use the white paste colour for the effect to work as white is usually made up of different ingredients that makes the crackle work. I've only ever tried with the Americolor white and gels.
I have never tried it but I think it should be ok. I brushed mine on when the dough was cold because it was in the fridge so I imagine it would work as well!
I was looking to see how to make the crackle effect and of course you have a video to show how...So not surprised! My question is this: How do they taste? That is a lot of food coloring, does it take away from the taste of the cookie? Thank you for sharing this.
Glad you found that tutorial!! When my family and I ate the cookies I didn't notice an odd taste or anything, they tasted normal to me! Not sure if someone who's more sensitive may taste something different but I was happy that for me they tasted great!
@@LittleCookieCo Thank you for ALWAYS replying, your awesome! I watched a neat video last night by nicolace Lodge ( big in the cake industry but you might know him ) he has a cookie shaper that makes Log Slice imprints and what he did ( brilliant really ) is he put a layer of Royal icing on the bottom of the cookie, so you still get icing and then put a flower some leaves and such on top and dusted /painted the log slice. I might do the same with these? Just thought I would share that tip with you...That way you see all that pretty crackling and still get Icing :D I mean who doesnt like icing!
I wanted to come back and comment on the Brand of gel colors. I used Sunny Side Up Bakery White gel color..and it wouldn’t paint on my cookies. But when I mixed it with a color it worked perfectly. So like she said you need to use AmeriColor Bright White gel color if you’re wanting the white crackle effect. Good tutorials..I’m slowly trying your tutorials as I’m a cake Mr but want to get into cookies really bad
So glad you got it to work!!! I'm sure you'll pick up cookies in no time!! Royal icing is a bit different than buttercream but once you get the hang of it, there's so many amazing options!! And you can make cookie toppers for your cakes!
Love this technique‼️😍 Just ordered my Americolor gel.... too bad I have to wait a week for it but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait... You’re so inspiring‼️🤩
YAY I got my Americolor and got to try out this technique yesterday 👏🏽 I tried the white gel on my snowflakes, angels and stars and loved it‼️😍 I’ll def be making those again but... I added a lot of green gel...a different brand...to the white... And needed up with a green tongue 😛 Won’t be doing THAT again‼️🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣 yes some of them leave colours on your tongue haha!! But the kids always find it amusing 😁. So glad you tried it out and it worked!! It's a perfect look for Christmas!!
As usual... another great tutorial. My question is... where do you find your cookie cutters? I have the basic ones but I’d love a set like yours. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer 🍪🍪🍪
Thank you so much! A lot of my cutters are Ann Clark (they're metal and cut so well) You can find them lots of places but most of mine are from Flour Confections linked below. I've also bought a few 3D printed cutters from Bobbi's Cutters (on etsy) or the Sweet Design Shoppe, they have great selection and quality. And I have a box of 101 wilton cutters as well that I got from Michael's! www.flourconfections.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwytOEBhD5ARIsANnRjVgwcaGMQio448frF09qDHmLOmxdZYkguTFk_osd_6ecR1VXSQC8guYaAsteEALw_wcB
Thank you for your instructional video. I like how you explain things. Question, can I easily apply an image with RI on top of the crackle base? Is there anything I should know about? I’ll be using a projector. TIA
Thank you for this! I just tried and the gel coloring kept separating on the cookies shortly after putting it down. Into little circles. Any suggestions?
I've never used that one but I think it may have different ingredients than the americolor white. The americolor is sort of liquid not gel like but it's much diff than their gel colours. Mine were a bit tacky right afte too, they did need to air dry for a while, but did dry, however if you rub your finger across them the colour would transfer to your fingers. You can brush gently coat of corn starch over them and that should get them dry to the touch (you can do that for airbrush or edible marker too). But I think you'd be better off to try with americolor brand as I've heard not all brands work the same.
Mine usually take about 12-13 minutes, but it realtor depends on the thickness of them and how big they are. I also refrigerate then before I bake so if you don't it may take less time!
Not necessarily, but has to include the white colour. I've heard people have had issues with the wilton white and sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes it does so I'm not sure as I've only done it with Americolor
Aww thank you so much for the support! If I can do it, I know anyone can 😊 just takes a lot of practice, patience and knowing which tools will help you the most!
@@LittleCookieCo what would your advice be for practicing? Just bake as much as I can to practice decorating and share it with friends and family? I just feel bad making so much food and not eating it or wasting it.
I used to bake for events for friends and family! It was a great way to try different themes and designs and everyone was always happy to have cookies brought to the party! After that, people that attended those parties started asking I can make them for their events and it kind of grew from there. It was stressful because now I had actual customers but made me push myself as well and I learned a lot!
Yes!! Its so simple and looks so good! I had a plane one with no extra icing and just the crackle part and tasted great, can't taste the colour at all!
Is just wonder if it's safe to eat the cookies at all. Because in my country usually if they do this, they say U can't eat them. Because of high colour amount and all Hmmm
The color is the same color we use to colour our icing which is edible, and it's really not that much as it gets spread out so I dont see a problem with it! Could be different counties have different rules but here there is no problem.

@@LittleCookieCo sorry I didn’t see the notification but thank you for your response! I and using chefmaster liquida-gel food color in white.

How long do you bake the cookies?
Mine usually take about 12-13 minutes, but it realtor depends on the thickness of them and how big they are. I also refrigerate then before I bake so if you don't it may take less time!
Will it always be a lighter color because you have to add white or just keep adding more of other colors to get a deeper color?
Sometimes if you add too much dark color it doesn't work as well so you can but just not overdo it!
I love your videos! 😍
Thank you so much ❤
Does this need to be done with Americo gel? Can it be done with regular gel colour from a craft store?
Not necessarily, but has to include the white colour. I've heard people have had issues with the wilton white and sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes it does so I'm not sure as I've only done it with Americolor
