    In Korean, there are lots of counting units. The counting units mentioned in this video are commonly used in everyday life.
    There are two types of numbers: Sino-Korean numbers and Pure Korean numbers. To use counting units, it is necessary to know the Pure Korean number system in Korean. Additionally, some of the Pure Korean numbers undergo changes in form before counting nouns. It is recommended to watch the video of Pure Korean numbers before watching this video.

    What's the difference between -명 and 사람? They're both 'people'. When do you use what?
    Oh, I think I understand. -명 is specific, whereas 사람 is generally people?

      Good!👍 In Korean, "명" and "사람" are used when counting. The word "명" is used as a counting unit for people. It is only used when you are counting a specific number of people, and it is never used alone. On the other hand, the word "사람" can be used both for counting people and for the general meaning of a person.
      So, "한 명" and "한 사람" both mean the same thing, which is "one person" in English. ⭐"명" is used for counting "all cases" of people, while "사람" is used for counting people in general situations. That is why '명' is used much more than '사람' when counting people.😄🥰

    Thank you 선생님 can you please help me to solve my confusion because to count 벽돌 some say 개 some says 장 some says 송이 very confuse another i got 벌 also so which right or is there any condition to used them all ? Please help me ...

    • @simple-korean
      @simple-korean  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The counting unit 벽돌 is both '개' and '장', usually the things that can be stacked, like regular paper, can be counted in units '장'. And '개' is general unit for things, so can be used for all things!!
      '송이' is for flowers. '벌' is for clothes and sometimes used for the 'pair' things like chopsticks.🥰

      I understand that you're feeling anxious because there isn't much time left until the exam. The most important thing in the exam is knowing a lot of words. If you don't know many words, it will be difficult to understand both listening and reading questions. Even if you don't have much experience in solving problems, knowing a lot of words can help you guess the questions and answers. So, knowing many words is the most important thing.
      Also, if you have time, it's good to solve a lot of practice questions. There are many TH-cam channels where you can solve problems, which can be helpful in preparing for the exam.🥰
