I'm guessing you had hard time looking for soba at Osaka.
That is because soba is mostly eaten at Kanto/Tokyo side and Osaka people prefer udon noodles. I won't say it's impossible to find soba at Osaka / Kansai, but there must be less place that serves compared to Tokyo. :)

No. We found soba everywhere we went which was great. I can't wait to head back to Japan soon.
