Bill Bellamy recently reminisced about the groundbreaking moments of his MTV tenure, highlighting a surreal experience presenting an award alongside The Notorious B.I.G. to Michael and Janet Jackson. Bellamy, who joined MTV in the early ‘90s, was pivotal in bringing urban music to the forefront during a time when MTV rarely showcased Black artists outside of specific shows like "Yo! MTV Raps." Bellamy detailed MTV’s landscape when he joined-highlighting the diverse roster of artists he helped introduce, including Brandy, Monica, Puff Daddy, Biggie, Tupac, Jay-Z, and Destiny's Child. Emphasizing his role as an ambassador of hip hop and R&B during MTV’s golden era, Bellamy compared his influence to that of Dick Clark for suburban white households. One standout memory was presenting the Vanguard Award to Michael and Janet Jackson for "Scream," alongside Biggie. Recalling the moment, Bellamy shared his awe, not at Biggie's rising fame, but at sharing a stage with the legendary Jacksons-a testament to the era's unique and unforgettable fusion of music icons. - บันเทิง
Vlad correcting Bill about our culture is vexing me😡
I was looking for this comment😂
He's actually reading from Bill's book
Nah Frfr 🙄🤦🏿♂️
Can a black person correct a non-black person? If so, don’t see the point of this.
@@JM-st6ut I don't see the point of your existence but your here
The best part was when Mike gave Biggie the hood handshake😂😂
Legendary!
That Biggie impersonation was on point 😂😅😂
Baby BAAby!
7:24 😂 It was like Biggie and Cosby combined, which is fitting considered how much big loved his Cosby-esque sweaters
💯🤣💯🤣💯🤣💯🤣💯🤣
Bill a true legend man he was a comedian actor and MTV personality the first guy I ever known being on TV in the early 90s
Define “legend”. Seems like anyone in the business more than ten years, is labeled a “legend” these days.
@@lseguy You’re a legend… I’m a legend.. we’re all legends, my legend!
@@lseguy Bill Bellamy is a legend though for his comedy and MTV careers. He's a veteran of Black comedy.
His acting career isn't legendary but it was what made him famous enough to launch his stand-up comedy career.
Bill Bellamy was a part of our day to day lives back in the 90’s! Dude was a whole vibe! The historic interviews, the music videos, the fashion, his way of making you laugh! Round of applause for this brother and everything he accomplished! Peace!
Let Bill Bellamy talk 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️!
It's Vladtv platform and he paid him he runs the show . He can interrupt his guests unfortunately SMH
Yeah he gets too excited and ruins it by not letting the guests talk.
Right?! Bill was actually there, Vlad. I’m pretty sure he knows what he’s talking about. STFU!
He tells people the experiences that they lived through a bit much!🧐
Does anyone remember that Kenan & Kel episode that Bill was on? 🤣🤣
Bill Bellamy also voiced Skeeter from the show “Cousin Skeeter.” I’m telling you man, Bill was definitely in heavy rotation in the 90’s. Much love and respect to Bill. 🤝🙏🏿💯👍🏿💪🏿🔥
no
MTV Jams was crazy!!! If your song was played on there it was a pure smash!!! First time I ever seen Dre and Snoop's Nuthin But A G Thang, Biggie's One More Chance, and TLC's Waterfalls videos were on MTV Jams!! Classic 90s, the best decade ever!!!! 🔥 🔥
In case anybody want to look up the actual video, Bill Bellamy and Biggie presented Michael and Janet Jackson the award for Best Dance Video for "Scream" at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards.
Bill Billamy looks exactly the same..he never aged 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I know Bill had legendary experiences back then. I grow up watching MTV. So imagine being there at the height of it. The 90s culture was Amazing!
by the mid 90s MTV was finding out that Micheal Jackson, Prince,Run DMC ,NWA,Janet Jackson wasn't the only talented black artist out there,2pac,Snoop ,Montel Jordan,Biggie,Wu Tang ,Usher, not too mention how many times Kurt Lodder use to bring up 2pac name on Mtv news
Bill Bellamy and Carson Daily, Fab Five Freddie and Downtown Julie Brown, Dre and Ed Lover were my favorites. Salute to them all for the memories 🫡
What a life Bill has had.
Meeting Mike and Janet was the greatest moment in Bill Life , besides his wife and kids lol
His biggie impression 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 top tier
Bill Bellamy was our first Black President of HIP HOP!! Here is your flowers SIR!!🎉🎉🎉
This Time Around by MJ and Biggie is 🔥Mike actually cusses on that track
I agree with Bill regarding the nostalgia of now memorable and iconic moments but acting like Biggie was just up and coming in 1995' is crazy. Biggie was the man so much that Michael Jacksom collaborated with him on his "HIStory" album the track is "This Time Around".
And on his Invincible album the song was Unbreakable
Yo MTV Raps, and then Bill! Michael Jackson, Run DMC and it just exploded. Nothing like the late 80's early 90's.
Ppl dissing his hair cut and dissing Vlad shows how things are now in 2024
How things always been, unhappy people always been saying things to try make other people unhappy… it only seems worse because everybody got a “voice” on the internet
@@joojoobawThat's why they say, "Misery loves company".
His stand-up on Def Comedy Jam was funny about, "What if your car could talk if it was stolen", and "setting up a bootycall"
I’ll never forget when Bill Bellamy interviewed Biggie and Bill asked him what the B.I.G. Stood for, Biggie said “ By the time I’m done with this ,it’ll be Bullet In Gut “ R.I.P Notorious B.I.G.
Man I love Bill Bellamy. Growing up in the 90’s….you had to be there.
Believe it or not, we were watching those MTV shows in Africa live!!!
Bill got on the right Hypnotize Shirt to talk about Biggie😂
I predict Bill on Club Shay Shay soon with way more views 🤷🏾♂️😂
I remember watching his movie when I was a kid “how to be a player”
Before MTV. There was Video Music Box....Real ones know what it..
Guess you not a real one. MTV was before video music box.
@@TonyMontana-mv9ez They weren't playing real Hip Hop.That is the difference.VMB had all the exclusives and for the culture.Obviously, you aren't the real one
But Video Music Box wasn't nationwide, MTV Raps was worldwide.
@@Kwanificient so?
Vlad cant wait to ask Bill about the Jaime Foxx vs LL Cool J Fight lol
Anybody watch Fastlane show that Bill Bellamy was on? Each episode had its own soundtrack, was an hour long, fast cars, chicks and cool clothing. Like Miami vice but in LA in 2003? Best show ever!
If you want to know, Bill was there that’s why he is a icon and nobody cannot take that away from him
Nobody on Earth can blame Biggie for acting like that in Michael's presence.
JJ Jackson was the first vj on MTV
What a life and what classic memories Bill has had! Definitely an icon in the culture!!
Fr,fr B was the man on MTV back during that time of Hip Hop!! That was a magical time for rap, rock, Grunge, R&B, Prince, Michael Jackson, Arsenio Hall!!
biggie and MJ have a song together and the rap biggie is doing is dope .. song called This Time Around .. check it out
I just wish Tupac and Mike wld of done a song together
@@user-eb5wy4uz9y MJ did one with Ice Cube tho that many people dont know about. Its called We Be Ballin. Check it out
This time around AND unbreakable!
@@thatbluegirl7528 yeah but unbreakable the tap was samples from another biggie song. While the one in this time around was original
I miss MTV Jams. Thanks Bill, you was a great host!!!
😂😂 the biggie voice
Bill definitely represented very strong back den!
We had Video Music Box in NYC so we grew up watching videos since the mid 80's
Lmfaooo I respect him more for his honesty 🤣🤣 “I’m not even tripping on biggie I’m tripping on Janet🔥 Bill Bellamy
How to be a playa is the all time classic! Still got it on dvd
Can’t wait to sit down on your show one day love it mane 🫡
LA definitely had Video Music Box!
That's what's up..I thought I was bugging.I am bron and raised in Brooklyn and couldn't afford cable so I would watch VMB after school everyday.Forget about MTV
Had it in Tennessee
I used to LOVE Mtv Jams as a kid!!❤❤❤
Bill is a ledgend dont forget. He laid the groudwork for alot of comedians.
What happened to his podcast, i loved it
I forgot Bill Bellamy was Cousin Skeeter. Watch that show on rotation.
I wish I can see what 90s was
Indescribable bro. Absolutely amazing decade.
We came home from school, watched USA Cartoon Express and at a little bit b4 6pm Thriller was ALWAYS the number 1 song on MTV top 10... This was like 86 or 87... Good times yo... USA was channel 16 MTV was 17... CableVision Jackson MS...
07:37 Not a full circle... Biggie already made the song, 'This Time Around', with MJ before the song for 'Scream' released off the 'HIStory' (LP)
If I can observe anyone's life as a fly on the wall, it would be Dennis Rodman, Jamie Foxx, or Bill Bellamy. I can only imagine how wild their lives have been up to this point.
Come on Bill you Didn’t name YZ. Central New Jeruz stand up! lol! Great interview.
Video soul on BET 1981
Exactly! Bill disrespected OUR network as well as the black VJ’s that helped pave the way for others like himself. Maybe not intentionally, but he did. Shout out to Donnie Simpson, the beautiful Sherri Carter and the beautiful Madelyne Woods.. ALL from BET.. IYKYK
Vlad telling Bill Bellamy about MTV in the 90s is wild.
Facts BET had Bobby Jones Gospel (1980-2016)
Video Soul (1981-96)
Video Vibrations (1984-99)
Midnight Love (1985-2005)
Softnotes (1987-91)

MTV Jams 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
😂the biggie impression “Damm Michael baize as hell!”
MTv spring break, the good days 😂😂
Down in the south in the early 90's we had BET, MTV the Box for music video consumption, and then your local music show that came on late on a Friday into early Saturday morning. But yea Bill was the man during that time. This was before Rap city took off, took off.
Vlad! Let him talk. We get it, you know the history and that era of music.
Interview of 2024
and then next thing you know, Big is on the HIStory album. tore it up!!!!!
Folks don't know that Bill was already a legend before MTV due to him hosting comedy night at the Peppermint lounge in Newark, NJ in the '90's and at one point was the epicenter for Black comics in the country. Especially since the co-founder of Def Comedy Jam, Bob Sumners lived in the same area.
Shout out to Bill Bellamy!!!!!!!!!
I'm him from my city I taught em how to keep it playa for sure 🚫🧢🤣🤣🤣💯💪🏿
Hope you talk about that 2pac interview on mtv when he got out of jail lol y’all was clowning
I know that right I loved that shit

Love my man Bill!
He got to work on getting a new Wig!
BET and VH1 were doing music videos too but MTV was killin it.
Bill , the year was 1995 . I was 15 . I remember like yesterday when you did the interview with Paula Abdul . I remember thinking damn she's beautiful , and I
Though to myself , damn this guy is one lucky man .
I always wondered if anything took off between you two .
Much respect .
Don.
Vlad, chill got dang!!!!!! Stop correcting Bill. He was there you wasn't
But BIG had already met Michael Jackson and featured on his Album which came out months prior to the MTV show. And "One More Chance" had propelled him into International Stardom. Hate when people are just capping for story purposes.
MTV wasn’t the only place. There was Rap City on BET.
VH1 was still pippin with videos too during that time
Bill Bellamy helped usher in modern-day hip hop culture as we know it. He's an Absolute pivotal influence in today's culture!!
Real dude
Me and Bill Bellamy have the same Barber Shop here in Melrose Park Illinois 🇺🇲
I hope not the way his fade look
😬🤫
👀
You get ya ish painted on, too?
My guy bill
I’m not Surprised He Mentioned Po Righteous Teacher… Jersey stick together… Trenton/Newark…✊🏾
MTV Jams was a great show-mixed rnb and hip hop. Besides YO! in the late 80s MTV was playing very little black artsy until late 80s-Janet, Whitney, Bobby Brown, etc. I was white kid about age 10 when I started listening to hip hop/rnb in late 80s.
Fab five Freddy was on Saturdays, Dr. Dre and ed lover were the weekdays in the beginning and then like he said that five Freddy would come in and do the special interviews like the Dr. Dre one
Legend in the 🏢
Get Money video still fire. Even Kim outshined and dissed Big on that verse
Jersey !!!
Much love to you Will Bellamy! From Jersey City to The Bricks 🧱…
SUMMER 95' was lit One More Chance Remix Waterfallz Scream ERA Free Left eye & Tupac Snoop murder Trail R.I.P Eazy R very scary times but little we knew it was about to get scarier 😢😢
The Bay Area Had the California Music Channel CMC for music videos
Vlad is a spectator and is talkkkng over this man who actually lived it. Saying “right right” fact checking his book knowledge 🤦🏾♀️
The culture really started will Bill. He is the truth.
Stop interrupting him! 🤦🏽♀️ 😒
